Central
Been playing a lot the past few months on both private and municipal courses with hand me down clubs. When I started I was awful having not played in a few years but tonight I shot my best ever score of 102 with 5 7's on the card due to a few lost balls. Hopefully with a few less mistakes I'll break 100 soon. Fucking love golf and how addicting it is to improve.

KnightswoodBear
Got my first lesson with the Pro up at Whitecraigs on Tuesday. I'm actually quite apprehensive about it in case he tells me I should just give up

peasy23
Confirmed that the BBC have won the rights to the USPGA, mostly on the red button, iPlayer and website dye to it clashing with the World Athletics Championships, but it is on BBC2 as well including the last couple of hours of the final round. http://www.bunkered.co.uk/golf-news/how-much-of-the-pga-championship-youll-see-on-bbc
Distant Doonhamer
Very decent golf today. Stableford comp and scored 38 points. Poor start with a double bogey for 0 points at the first but birdied 9th to have 18 points going out. Also birdied 10th and played the back 9 in 38 (two over) for 20 points coming back. handicap had drifted up to 8.4 so pleased to get a wee cut. Anticipate being at 8.0, maybe 7.8 if CSS drifts up.

peasy23
Had a shocker today. Lord knows what I would actually have scored if I hadn't N/Rd on two holes. Pished down for most of the round which certainly didn't help, got to the stage that everything was soaking, could hardly grip a club.

DarkBlue62
Played the Jubilee in St Andrews on Thursday. Couple of really fun holes. Played pretty poorly however. Anyone wants a game then let me know!
Ro Sham Bo
Read another report last week that says it isn't just down to money, Sky want an exclusive deal for UK coverage but Augusta want to continue with some sort of free to view broadcast. Similar to the reason BBC got the rights to the PGA. The USPGA hiked up the price to compensate for the reduced reach that sky has but were then happy to agree a deal with the BBC at a lower price because it was free to air coverage.
peasy23
So just a week after praising his caddy JP Fitzgerald for turning his Open around, Rory has given him the sack. Don't think there will be a shortage of applicants, JP reportedly earned $1.65 million last year alone.
KnightswoodBear
Had my first lesson with the Pro at Whitecraigs this morning. Amazing what an hour with someone who knows what they are doing and more importantly what you are doing can do for your confidence. Didn't hit anything higher than a 7 iron, but he got me hitting it straight right, as opposed to a massive slice, and by the end of the hour I was even getting a bit of right to left on it. Looking forward to the next one now.

I've played there 3 or 4 times, and managed to be in the houses behind the first on every occasion, though the first time I'm sure it was still a building site!

I've not played the course despite it being the closest course to my house (besides Rouken Glen). Looks nice though.
