Thompson/Widmayer was vile.

These prelim games are a silly idea they are embarrassing.

And why are they putting the decent games on during the day when most people work?

Just can't work out the logic in that.

I see Eric Bristow has tweeted that since Waites only plays for fun, someone ask him how much fun his game yesterday was!

Well he did give an interview afterwards. What did "the power" do after his 1st round exit again??

Granted, it is laughable to watch a lot of this though

Yes,they are trying out the new board.Much the same as a blade 4 but it has a locking system on the back.

Rick hofstra was impressive last night.Could be a bit of a dark horse.Experienced player.Fully expect him to take care of atkins in the next round.

Thompson match was terrible. And dave prins is on tonight.

They want the big players to get the tv coverage so they put them on in the afternoon rather than the be behind the red button.

Increased prize money for the PDC's Premier Events this year. In addition to increases for UK Open Qualifiers and the Challenge Tour.

"THE increased prize funds for PDC Premier Events in 2014 has been confirmed, including new record amounts on offer in the World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, UK Open, European Championship and Players Championship Finals.

Following the PDC's continued worldwide growth over the past 12 months, which has included new broadcast contracts signed with both Sky Sports and ITV4, prize funds for major televised events have been increased.

An additional £50,000 prize money has been added to five major PDC tournaments, with the World Matchplay's prize fund increasing to £450,000 - a record for the event.

The World Grand Prix's prize fund increases to £400,000, with £250,000 prize money on offer in both the UK Open Televised Finals in March and September's European Championship, while the Players Championship Finals' prize money increases to £300,000.

In addition, a rolling £5,000 nine-dart bonus will be on offer at all PDC Premier Events listed below, plus the Grand Slam of Darts. With two nine-darters having been hit at the 2014 World Championship, this will revert to £5,000 for the UK Open Televised Finals in March.

The PDC can also confirm that the six UK Open Qualifiers to be held during February will now offer £50,000 each in prize money, an increase of £15,000 per event in line with the 2013 rise of Players Championship prize money to the same total.

European Tour events will continue to offer £100,000 prize money each and £160,000 will be on offer in the second staging of The Masters, while the 2015 World Championship will again offer £1,050,000 in prize money.

In addition, the PDC will pay out £240,000 in its Development Tours, with 16 Challenge Tour events each worth £10,000 in prize money joined by 16 Youth Tour events offering £5,000 prize money each."
