I thought it was a weird game between Glasgow and Newport. First half hour was all Dragons, and their scrum half was absolutely running the game. If they hadn't butchered a couple of chances (most notable where the full back and winger managed to run into each other when they had a 2 on 1 overlap) they'd have been well ahead. We barely crossed the halfway line.

Then they just utterly collapsed. Still, a good and needed win. The difference even with just a few of the internationals back was noticeable. Grigg played really well, but for me the class of guys like Swinson, Bennett, Favaro and Pyrgos really shone through in the 2nd half.

Oh, and I've still no idea how that was a try for Dragons. I was right behind that goal, probably had the best view in the stadium, and it looked short. Couldn't really see the big screen fully, but it looked short there as well. Should it have counted?

The team that's stepped into the action during the internationals have struggled to find their feet. Especially in autumn. However, we gave the Scarlets a good game for the most part during the 6N, were unlucky not to follow that up with a losing BP in Belfast and perhaps a tad unlucky not to sneak the win at Ospreys.

This will have been the targeted game and finally the hard work paid off. We were clinical vs a Dragons team who may have fancied themselves for a shock. The way in which we came back from 10-0 down (despite the disputable try) was outstanding. A little bit of me thought "here we go again" but thankfully didn't come to that.

I left Scotstoun feeling exhilarated. Our next game's at home vs Connacht just a week after the 6N finishes. Won't have all the players back but certainly a huge chunk of them. We're capable of winning our remaining Pro12 games (inc over in Munster and Leinster) but the top sides still have huge cushions over us and will still pick up points. Also, Ulster have a game in hand vs Zebre at home!!

If we don't make the play-offs the very least we can do, including trying to win the Sarries away game of course, is aim to finish as high up the table as poss as it looks better and gets ourselves in the best pot possible for the Champs Cup draw. We SHOULD finish above Edinburgh. You don't want shoved in Pot 4 with no chance of getting an Italian team.

One more thing. We blotted our copybook at the end. What happened?? The clock went red and all we had to do was get the ball out the ruck and out the park!! We seemed to needlesssly mess about and give them a try. I suppose it's human nature to switch off when home and dry though lol...

Yeah, that nonsense at the end was quite embarrassing. It was also a bit disrespectful and arrogant I thought. Game was over, bonus point was secured, and we decided to try and run one in from our own 22? Probably got what we deserved there.

Think the Dragons win just cofirms what people have been saying ie the 2nd string it need 3 or 4 older heads to help them through the games in the international weeks. Hopefully that'll be addressed for next season (don't think there's a realistic chance of play offs now) as there's no way Pro12 will stop for autumn n 6n games. Hopefully the Saracens game sees a big performance from the international brigade. Would love the see Glasgow at least make the final.

I think the Pro12 is about to get tougher for Glasgow and Edinburgh.  The Dragons have signed Zane Kirchner for next season.  The simpler games vs the Dragons are about to be a thing of the past.

Equally that will hopefully make things trickier for the other top sides too though. The big irish n Welsh teams have scooped up a lot of cheap points during 6n autumn since they don't lose so many guys to internationals. In a perverse way dragons n Italian sides strengthening could actually help scottish sides.

Seems early in the year but the 7s season started for the English schools today. My son was draughted in as prop which he complained about but his team did ok.  Next tournament is on Sunday.  Big north London event and I'll be amazed if his mob make the transition from a forwards-dominated team to a quick 'keep the ball alive' squad.

Saturday's more important.  Is it really 34 years since we won The Calcutta Cup in England?

My lad was asked to make an appearance for a local u13 side last season as they had been invited to the gala 7s. Only on the bus down did he find out that said club had done zero 7s prep at all before playing against Melrose gala etc. The pumpings were fairly epic. 7s is so specialised now that it takes loads of training to prep for it.
I'd b very surprised if we took calcutta cup (and therefore triple crown) on sat but for some reason Eddie Jones seems to want to take a fast dynamic high tempo England squad back to turgid stick it up the jumper stuff so who knows.

My son plays at under 16s and his lot are pretty good - with him and 3 others playing at County level - but I expect a vigorous pumping to be handed to them on Sunday as they've done zero 7s prep and are facing some tasty fee-paying schools.

Saturday?  Best chance in a decade for us winning at Twickenham.  Depends on the forwards, though.  If we get parity up front?

Referee: Mathieu Raynal (France)
Assistant Referees: Romain Poite (France), Marius Mitrea (Italy)
TMO: Ben Skeen (New Zealand)

This is the Referee team for the game the ref has had some carrier so far. In 2013 he suffered a fracture to tibia and fibula, as well as a broken right collarbone, and a sprained left ankle in a Top 14 game. After being out for over a year he went off injured in a champions cup game in 2014 an after replacing an injured ref in this years competition he allowed Connacht to go for a line out after the 80min in there win v Wasps.   .

My lad has just moved to u16 for school n u15 for club. Has moved to a bigger club this season. The guys he was with last year were coached by guys who'd watched the telfer speech in the lions dvd too much. Horribly naive to go to a borders 7s tourney without prep....the players were of course blamed. That club now doesn't have a youth set up ! Agree forward battle is huge on sat especially scrums n rucks.

So same team as against Wales, except Watson in for Hardie and Du Preez on the bench. To be expected I suppose

Would think that's not far off the mark tbh. Would have Jon Welsh as a tight head option perhaps n maybe harley ahead of Du Preez but otherwise looks about as good as we have available. Hopefully the forwards can feed the backs enough ball to work with

Du Preez is still getting over injuries n hasn't looked at his best for a while. Not sure where Denton is with fitness but I'd have had either ashe or harley on bench instead, maybe even Bradbury if it hadn't been England

Could someone tell me what the tiebreakers are in the Six Nations please? I can't find it online anywhere.

What I mean is, if teams finish level on points, how do they decide who finishes higher? Is it head-to-head, matches won, try difference, points difference, or something else?

I think it still goes points difference then trys scores and then it is shared if still no difference. This changed in 1994 when if two teams finished level at the top the tournament was shared.
