JMDPco
First visit to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium for Spurs 4-1 Southampton. Spurs were impressive, the less said about Southampton the better. Stunning weather, five goals, a few pints and a pretty incredible stadium. Not too bad all round, despite the surrounding area being an absolute shithole.

Guest
Whitburn 0-3 TranentSome midweek East of Scotland cup qualifying action between East Premier new boys against Lowland League new boys. Really impressed with Central Park (not a phrase I ever thought I'd say being used to Cowdenbeath). Nice ground with a big enclosure and two different seating sections! No floodlights however so a slightly strange 6:45 kick off. Tranent always had the better of the game, including hitting the crossbar from the half way line in the first half. Whitburn had chances but Tranent always on top. Two early second half goals, topped off with a tremendous strike just on 90 minutes made the difference

Crow
Stopped off at Liverpool 0-3 RC Strasbourg Alsace @ Anfield on the way back. Wouldn’t normally post about home games but not in my seat and got a shot of the Anfield Road redevelopment. Pre-season Friendly. The visitors race into a 3 goal lead inside the opening 25 minutes and that completes the scoring against a young Liverpool side + James Milner. Crowd around 50,000. Crow
Fulham 2-2 Liverpool @ Craven Cottage . Opening day of the 2022-23 Premier League season and an early start. Fulham made life very difficult for the visitors who were far from their best and were forced to come from behind twice and settle for a point. Craig fae the Vale
Drymen United 3-2 Gargunnock. A winner takes all shootout for the Forth and Endrick League tonight. Gargunnock were 2-0 up early in the second half but a stirring fightback from Drymen saw them lift the title. A feisty, frantic contest. Five goals, two red cards and champions crowned. Great night's entertainment.
Guest Jedi
Ground number 89# for me at Gibbshill Park for Harthill Royal 1 v West Calder Utd 3. Lovely night for it. Harthill took the lead following a mix up between keeper and CH. 2 goals in a minute just before HT saw West Calder in the lead, with victory sealed with an early 2nd half pen. A decent contest throughout.
tamthebam
Having spent most of the last 35 years watching football at "The Concrete Lavvypan" aka The Commonwealth Stadium, aka Meadowbank, I went to last Tuesday's Leith Athletic v Rosyth game with a sense of curiosity to see what Son of Meadowbank was like. Was it really as awful as it looked? Hmm.. Jordi Cruyff, Matt Monro Jnr, David II- history is littered with sons of the great who turned out to be crap. I'm afraid Son of Meadowbank can join that list. I'm not even sure if it's fit to be an athletics stadium let alone a football venue. It is just a bigger John Cumming Arena, home of Carluke Rovers, really. The game was scheduled for 7.30 and kicked off at 8 to allow the athletes to finish their training. Thus was it always with Meadowbank. I hope the athletes pay their ground rent nowadays though. It was a fairly even first half. Rosyth passed up a few chances. I went off to get a cup of coffee at a vending machine at half time and couldn't get the complicated thing to work. I did notice one of the other machines was knackered, about a week after the place opened... Rosyth took the lead in the second half but late defensive slackness saw Leith take all 3 points. Not a bad game but I won't be in a hurry to go back to The Concrete Po as I suppose it is now. Nice orange seats. The old ones were better. The view from the nice orange seats. There is a lost tribe of feral Lochend Neds over the barrier who climbed in 3 years ago and couldn't climb out again. A can of Dragon Soup should placate them giving you time to run away. Leith's second goal and the winner
