Crow
Kelty Hearts 1-0 Queen of the South @ New Central Park . The visitors on top in the 1st half but it was Kelty who opened the scoring through Michael Tidser ️ (34). Despite plenty of effort there was to be no way back for Queens who couldn’t find an equaliser. Crowd 548.

Le Tout P'ti FC
Rossvale 2 Irvine Victoria 1.Some exciting goalkeeping blunders are keeping this game interesting. The Irvine young team started strongly, but have simpered down as their E-numbers have worn off.Good second half. Three goals. Two red cards.
JMDPco
Rayo Vallecano 0-0 Getafe A nice little Friday evening in the Vallecas neighbourhood. Great stadium in amongst the apartments and shops, brilliant atmosphere, reasonable pints but no goals. Missed pen for Rayo and Falcao had a header ruled out for offside. Getafe barely had a meaningful attempt all evening. Decent night all round.

Scorge
In the north east for a long weekend, so some filthy Norn League action last night: Seaham Red Star 1-1 West Auckland Town. Odd game - Seaham started like a Sunday pub team, conceded after 2 minutes and should have been 3 or 4 down early, only to then take total command of the game and miss a pile of chances. Despite being reduced to 10, they equalised and looked more likely to win. Attendance given as 140, and a hedge at the far end that totally wipes the floor with Glebe Park. Big game in the sticky prem today to follow...
Le Tout P'ti FC
Saltcoats Victoria 1 Renfrew 3.After an enjoyable walk around Irvine Beach, I decided to pick here fairly arbitrarily out of a choice of several games nearby. Renfrew went two up very early, then missed a penalty. Saltcoats gradually coming onto their game, eventually scored a decent long range goal, and then agonisingly missed a penalty on the stroke of half time.Game played in weather that would best be described as "foul". Heavy rain and gusty winds.
Guest
Musselburgh 5-2 Gala Fairydean Rovers (AET)Olivebank for the ding donger of a South Challenge Cup between East Premier and Lowland League.Really impressed with the setup here, speaking to a few locals who say there's been a lot of recent improvements. Musselburgh 1-0 up at half time going down the hill and looked like they would hold on but some absolute heads gone and over physicality from Burgh let Gala in to turn it round. Absolute scenes in injury time as a free kick equalises for Burgh and sends us to extra time.Burgh come out for the extra period flying scoring from a stramash and then a breakaway going back down the hill. They add a 5th after rotten defending to clinch it.
Jute
Penicuik Athletic 3-2 Peebles Rovers. Entertaining cup tie with both sides scoring brilliant free kicks. Penicuik opened scoring with their free kick and were 2-0 up but Peebles started their fight back with their free kick and got it back to 2-2. Well worth the £5 entry. Marten
Arthurlie 0-3 Irvine MeadowThe scoreline didn't really reflect the game. The visitors were the stronger side but not by that much. Their finishing and strong goalkeeper was what decided the game though.
Scorge
Marske United 0-2 FC United of Manchester: part two of the double header. Clinical finishing the difference here, FCUM pounced on two pieces of Marske defensive carelessness, while the home side had a bout of 'couldn't score in a hoorhouse-itis'. Very windy second half helped them, but just couldn't blow the house down despite several good chances. For a side top of the NPL just now, FCUM weren't that all that great (their no 3 was an absolute Huntly-esque HL clogger) and Marske played the tidier football for the most part, but the noisy travelling support get to enjoy the points. Attendance around 750 IIRC.
Le Tout P'ti FC
Edinburgh South 4 Arniston Rangers 1. The rainbow leads to Paties Road. Good game so far. Every goal coming from a defensive calamity, and the Germans reduced to 10-men following an attempted murder over by the benches.Second half featured a crowd pleasing goal from the half way line.
Marten
Motherwell Women 2-2 SpartansMy first trip to K-Park, the first half Spartans were all over Motherwell. They were 0-2 up and it could have been more. It was clearly a game of two halves though as Motherwell were the stronger side in the second half. They equalised 10 minutes from the end and even had a chance to win it. Over 90 minutes I'd say a draw was probably the right result.
tamthebam
I went to Scone Thistle v Broughty Athletic yesterday. Scone are a young team and lost 4-0 to a streetwise Broughty team. I had a nice steak pie at half time. It's a bit of a hidden away park too The chap collecting the gate money has a daughter who plays for Spartans u-19s "Who are they playing tomorrow?" "Motherwell. We should beat them..." Hmm...
paul-r-cfc
Real Betis 3 - 1 AlmeriaFlight was delayed so we had to book another one and didn't think we would make it but it all worked out. Good game, good goals, good atmosphere and we were sheltered from the rain. Ideal.
Craig fae the Vale
East Kilbride u20s 0-1 Cumbernauld Colts u20s. A rare Monday night game in the SLDFL. Drab game, Cumbernauld just edging it, but an absolute stonewall penalty turned down for EK late on.
DoingThe42
19/42: Montrose 1-1 Falkirk, League One, 15/10/22. First time at Links Park for me, and went together nicely with the following day's game at Aberdeen. Enjoyed the Golf Inn before the game, and Links is a decent ground. Montrose started the better side, and it wasn't much surprise when McKinnon put them ahead. They lost McAllister up front, but still seemed the better side to me until McGuffie equalised with a really nice goal for Falkirk. Either side could have won it in an enjoyable second half, but a draw was probably fair.
DoingThe42
20/42: Aberdeen 2-0 Hearts, Premiership, 16/10/22. I'm on a lucky run at the moment of going to games in (mostly) tremendous weather, and this was another lovely day for it. Both teams had chances here, and as the second half progressed it became obvious that the first team to take one would win the game. Some really poor defending from Hearts, especially the second goal, but the same could be said about Aberdeen giving chances to Hearts earlier. Not much in the game, but you need to take your chances. This keeps up my 'impressive' personal record in my 42 pursuit. I'm a Hearts supporter, but due to family reasons my second team (like it or lump it!) is Clyde. So far in 42 duty my Hearts/Clyde record is p7 W0 D1 L6 F3 A15. Fucking hell. As an aside, I'd need to say Pittodrie is the worst value for money stadium I've been to so far. Thirty quid to have a spot where you just can't see the whole pitch (I'm holding up the phone in the picture below) and are reduced to guessing what's happening at one corner flag until play re-emerges, my mate next to me was standing on a slab of concrete that moved under him every time he shifted his weight, and at the pie stall they weren't even offering the Chicken Curry Pie I'd been looking forward to! No steak pies either (this was right after kick-off), so I was reduced to a mince pie, which was rubbish. Shocker. Not the biggest deal, obviously, but when you've paid thirty quid to get in somewhere, I don't think any of the things I've listed are really on. Scottish football has a lot to answer for in terms of value for supporters, but Aberdeen come up quite poorly in this regard. Looking forward to a couple of big Championship games in the next week or so. Edited October 18, 2022 by DoingThe42
