Looks like 2023-24 will kick off for me.next Saturday. The 8-4 game was last pre season between 2 Sunday teams. 149 games in one season is good going, congratulations. I was chuffed just being able to do a 1st ever 34/34 season following Hannover 96.
Guest
East Kilbride 1-1 Queen of the South Wur back! 23/24 starts at a sweatbox of a K Park where the Kennedy and Ferry revolution starts with a friendly against League One Queens. We've been here before but not for the groundhopping so this is ground 89. Thought Broomhill was a vanity project, as is Darvel, so not why we're here, but many maybe do as there was a large crowd. Evidently more than was expected as the pie stall ran out of food and juice and we were queueing for ten minutes to get in. Kilby will be disappointed not to have won this. 1-1 at half time after Gavin Reilly opened early for Queens and EK equalise from a penalty. The home side have the better of the second half after Queens change all 11 players at the break. As many friendlies do it fizzled out at the end but a good game to get back at it.
highlandmac
Last 16 day of the highland amateur cup First upwas harris-lerwick Celtic in a sweltering neutral maryburgh, lerwick came from 1 down &looking like they could be on for a hammering to comfortable 3-1 winners, all goals in the first half Then a quick drive to Inverness where clach reserves took on inver&again it was a comeback, clach coming from a goal down to win 3-2,inver were a bit unlucky but clach were more clinical up front The quarter finals are 15th July,if the weather's good these games are a joy to attend Edited June 24, 2023 by highlandmac
The Mantis
Another one who was at EEP. Not counting the new season's fixtures till July though, just in case I go to any more games this week Fits in with Futbology
Marten
Another one at East End Park yesterday. I was desperate to go to football again and Dunfermline isn't too far, so when a friend of mine invited me I couldn't resist. I also agree that the Pars gave a good account of themselves against strong opposition. Just 2 rows in front of me some Celtic fans unfurled a Celtic/St. Pauli "friendship" banner late in the second half. To say that the Pars fans around me didn't appreciate it, would be an understatement.

Crow
East Kilbride 1-1 Queen of the South (1-1 HT) @ K-Park . 3pm. A first pre-season friendly for both with Queens ahead after only 3 minutes before the impressive EK deservedly levelled from the spot. The visitors with 11 half time changes . Brilliant crowd of just under 600. Edited June 24, 2023 by Crow
philpy
I'm hoping to be a decent contributor to this thread this season. Living in East lothian, I'm in a decent enough catchment area so to speak. But hopefully my first game will be in England, carlisle host wigan on the 15th August, just happens that we are in keswick for a week when it's on. Only going if we can somehow source a lift back to keswick, as there are no late buses from carlisle. Planning on heading up early afternoon for some food and beers. An Eejit Abroad
Forge 4-3 Atletico Ottawa Att: 6,917 Great entertainment in the Canadian Premier League and also undoubtedly the two worst full-time football teams I’ve ever seen. A goal in the first 20 seconds, an own goal from a passback, a scrap, constant defensive and goalkeeping mistakes, a cracking free-kick put into the top corner. Great stuff. They play in the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Canadian Football stadium which is far too big for them so only one stand is opened for their games other than for people willing to pay for the posh seats. It just happens that the stand they decided to open for normal folk is in the baking sun. Bizarre decision for a summer league. Decent enough place to watch football otherwise.
Guest
Montrose 1-3 Raith Rovers Sigh. We said we do them all so we're at the Mo. Friendly in Angus tonight. Championship Rovers dominate the first half and could have had more than the three they led by at half time. Some well worked goals by them. Rory McAlister did Rory McAlister things (scoring this time not diving) to get a goal back but like Saturday the game petered out. Did have the pleasure () of being next to the Montrose Fergie/Mad Bill for the first half. Harmless but I envy my mother and her being deaf in one ear. As Roselea share Links Park I never need to come back to Montrose ever again

Unless there are two of them…
Jute
Civil Service Strollers 1-2 Falkirk. Managed to go a whole 7 days before cracking and heading along to this. Decent crowd and it stayed dry. Civil possibly better team in first half and took goal well. Both sides made a number of changes which seemed to benefit Falkirk more but they struggled to convert possession in to goals until last 5 minutes when they managed to win the game with two late goals.

An Eejit Abroad
Canada 2-2 Guadeloupe Att: 15,301 This was definitely a game of football. Guadeloupe grabbed an unlikely late equaliser to grab an unlikely draw against a Canada reserve team in this Gold Cup tie in Toronto. Otherwise it was pretty uninspiring stuff. David Wotherspoon and Ross County’s Loturi were unused subs for Canada. They do a cracking hot dog at BMO Field. We got tickets for the equivalent of £7 too so can’t complain.

highlandmac
Absolutely ridiculous game in Macintosh rose bowl qf tie of the forres&nairn league last night.FC Thistle-elgin thistle, respectively 2nd&1st in the league itself.in the first half the away team cruised into a 3-0 lead looking totally imperious everywhere on the pitch,i almost decided to head home thinking "game over". 15 minutes in to the 2nd half and FC thistle had turned it around to take a 5-3 lead, the game finished 7-3,it was like Argentina had transformed into san Marino

The Mantis
Forth and Endrick League. Kippen 1 Balfron Rovers 2. Home side take the lead after an hour, both reduced to 10 after handbags, Rovers score twice, their keeper saves a last minute pelanty. Pishing rain but the pitch handled it remarkably well. Big shout out to @Crow for the brolly share. I guess that's a wrap. Edited July 1, 2023 by The Mantis
Guest
Clydebank 0-1 East Stirlingshire Victory for the Shire in the Jack Steedman derby at Yoker today. We were meant to be heading east but didn't fancy it with the weather so played it safe and went through to Clydebank. I have Bankie tendencies and have always had a soft spot for Shire so this game was perfect. Apart from a few feisty challenges there wasn't a great deal happening. Shire had one chance and took it. Be interesting to see how both get on this year. Always time for a quick shout out for Patrick Scullion. He has left Dalgetty Bay and is now leading the revolution at the only club in Falkirk (Town Centre*) *Formally
