atfccfc
Penicuik Park for Penicuik Athletic V Linlithgow Rose 0-0. The champions being the first opposition for new Manager David Hannah of Dundee United and Celtic fame. A beautiful warm sunny day. But a poor for the neutral, played at a slow pace. Penicuik fully deserved the draw as they were hard working and well organised. Linlithgow probably also happy to settle for a point too. Decent crowd of around 250/300. Admission £8 Very good match Programme £2.
Marten
Kilsyth Rangers 4-1 Maryhill A relegation 6 pointer at a hot & sunny Duncansfield Park. The hosts took the lead early on, Maryhill had 2 penalty claims in the first half, I was too far away to judge fairly whether or not they were penalties so if any footage was recorded, I'd be interested to see them. Kilsyth got a penalty though just before half time and scored that one to double their lead. Early in the second half, the visitors got one back. A Maryhill committee member who stood next to me (and who I had a great chat with, if you're on here: it was nice meeting you) got hopeful, but his hope was soon dashed when Kilsyth quickly replied by scoring a 3rd. The final goal was scored late on and Kilsyth got 3 vital points in the fight against the drop. Lovely ground, a real "old school" non-league ground. They had a players' tunnel which was interesting to see as you don't see them a lot at this level.
morrison
The first – of I'm sure, many – posts from Ainslie Park for Spartans 1, Albion Rovers 1. A fair result for a game of almost no chances.
highlandmac
Another night going to see the Dead Kennedys so took in the kings cup final,lochore-dunipace,in whitburn, not the easiest place to get to by public transport. As has been reported elsewhere,a truly dreadful first half&amuch better second.dunipace looked better for 75% of the game&when they went ahead in the 2nd half it looked like that was that.an exciting finish, though, when an equaliser was knocked in through a pile of players.it looked like that would take it to ET before a late lochore winner poked in from close in. That lochore keepers a large chap
forfarton
St Andrews United 4 - 5 Whitburn Juniors Top of the table clash in EoSFL Second Division, although both teams already guaranteed promotion. Saints went ahead within 2 minutes, but the equaliser came 2 minutes later and by 18 minutes it was 1-3. Whitburn scored twice early in 2nd half and most thought it was all over, but St Andrews didn't give up, got a couple of goals to make it a nervy end for Whitburn, and came close to equalising late in the match.
Crow
Oakley United 2-1 Vale of Leithen (2-0 HT) @ Blairwood Park . EOSFL Premier Division. 2.30pm. The home side ahead after only 6 mins and then 2-0 up on the stroke of half time. Vale battled hard and pulled one back from all of 60 yards but couldn’t find an equaliser. Crowd 189. Crow
Lochore Welfare 2-1 Dunipace (0-0 HT) @ Central Park , Whitburn. King Cup Final . 2pm. A pretty poor 1st half but the game then came to life with the favourites Dunipace opening the scoring. With ET looming Lochore levelled and then won it late on . Crowd around 400.
morrison
Craigroyston 1 Thornton Hibs 0; EOSFL Second Division. Massive win for the home side that takes them out of the relegation zone with 2 games left to play. Thornton Hibs managed to get two players sent off near the end, both for dissent over an incident they weren't involved in. Impressive. Crowd of about 65. Jute
Another who was at Craigroyston v Thornton Hibs. Red cards at the end were odd given game meant little to Thornton. Not sure why they were so upset about what looked a clear foul.

Guest
Linlithgow Rose 5-0 Newburgh I'm not sure I knew where Newburgh was when we started groundhopping but we've now seen then four times this season at home, Peebles, Thornton and now Lithgae in the quarter finals of the East of Scotland League Cup. We've been to Prestonfield before but this was the first time officially for the groundhopping @groundhoppinga on twitter for anyone interested. Prestonfield is one of the best grounds at this level. Fantastic stand and enclosure with plenty space for kids to run about etc. It will be a credit to the Lowland League next year and to the SPFL if they get higher. Two divisions between the teams and it showed. Lithgae dominated without getting out of second gear, Newburgh tied at the end and three goals in the last half hour make it very comfortable. Having said that, Burgh were a credit to themselves and gave a very good account against their illustrious opponents.
Craig fae the Vale
Killearn 3-3 Gargunnock. A blockbuster first half saw the visitors 3-2 up at the break. A string of fine saves from.the Killearn keeper kept them in it while they pushed for an equaliser, which they duly got with 2 minutes left. As always, fantastic entertainment in the Forth and Endrick League.
Scary Bear
I won tickets to the Man City v Real Madrid game last night. Great occasion but a bit of a one-sided game, with Madrid struggling to live with City. There were certainly plenty City fans there from around the World who likely wouldn’t give them the time of day if they were rubbish again, but there are plenty old school City fans remaining. Their favourite song on the night: To the tune of Voulez-Vous by Abba - Bernardo! Silva! running down the wing, Silva! Makes the blue boys sing, Silva! We’re all going to Istanbul!
PSJ.84
Airdrieonians 1-0 Hamilton A really nervy a fair - as expected - definitely wasn’t the greatest game of football, but interesting nonetheless. Far more preferable than watching on TV.
Craig fae the Vale
The Faslane Charity Shield between a team of Rangers supporting Babcock workers and a team of their Celtic supporting colleagues. Finished 4-2 to Celtic with a large sum being raised for CHAS.
Guest
Hawick Royal Albert 1-0 Newburgh Aww naw. Not Newburgh again! Just the way the fixtures work sometimes. Down in Rugby Country for the penultimate round of games in the East Second. Both teams seasons are over, Hawick are joining the West Lothian massif in the Third next year and Newburgh have stayed up. We witnessed the reversed fixture a while ago and I am thrilled to see that Burgh have changed their keeper. Another fiery game that was low on quality but plenty of fight and passion. Hawick actually look decent and hopefully building a good team for next year. One second half goal the difference. I like Albert Park. Hawick fighting a losing battle being in probably the most Rugby oriented town in Scotland but still have a decent support really. Good folk apart from a crabbit barman. Worth coming down.
DoingThe42
EK Thistle 1-5 Vale of Clyde, WoSFL Third Division, 20/05/2023: Vale of Clyde are crowned champions with a very one-sided victory at the Showpark. It was 3-0 at half-time, but could already have been six or seven. The result was kind to Thistle, if anything. The visitors looked streets ahead and it could have been anything at all. Two really good goals, some good saves, two or three off the bar. Incredibly, this was my first ever trip to the Showpark. I grew up about fifteen minutes away. It's pretty drab by the standards I've seen around the country this season, but it was friendly enough and an enjoyable day. The Village is the only passable part of East Kilbride as well, so not bad to get a walk about.
Cowdenleith
At the relegation battle in the EOSFL second division between Ormiston Primrose and Craigroyston. Before the match, two games to go and Primrose in the relegation spot, just one point behind Craigroyston. Basically a must win for Primrose as next week, by a strange quirk, both teams are up against already relegated teams so you would fancy them both to win. Primrose edged it 3-2 in a highly enjoyable game, very nervy at the end as the referee correctly played a lot of injury time. Craigroyston would feel they deserved a draw which probably would have been enough for them as they play Hawick next week. Lovely wee ground surrounded by trees, a cracking £1.50 steak pie and friendly locals. Sadly no programme, but didn’t expect one. I did a head count during green first have and reckon a crowd of 95 give or take a few.
Scorge
East End 0 - Maud 1. Made the short hop to the Seaton Skyerdome for the final innings of this season's North Superleague. Home side missed a penalty and several good chances, Maud a bit more physical and scored off a properly Sunday pub team defensive howler to win. The (lack of) standard in this league, especially the finishing, takes some getting used to, I have to say. Crowd of around 50-ish, not counting any tenants with pairs of binoculars.
