  1. Stevenson is a really strange signing. He was utterly finished for us, and that was now a full 3 years ago.
  2. We had one attacking player who was able to head the ball effectively on Saturday - Grant Anderson. He pulled onto the full back as there’s a far higher chance of him winning a header v him as they are generally less good in the air than a centre back. Sometimes the kick is slightly off and it goes out the park and we have to defend a throw in 70 yards from goal. It’s still a preferable situation than having a centre half tower over John Baird and header it 30 yards back directly towards our goal but football fans are generally stupid and struggle to understand that and would rather we just launch every goal kick right up the middle of the park We were so lacking in heading ability in the middle of the park on Saturday that when defending goal kicks we withdrew Anderson to the defensive midfielder role to challenge the high ball.
  3. We have 6 PT players - McGurn, Miller, MacDonald, Grant Anderson, Victoria and Baird. Three of them played some part on Saturday, with MacDonald being the pick of the bunch. Miller was excellent up until his injury. Players keep themselves very fit away from football, it’s not as if they’re doing nothing except training Tuesday, Thursday. Yes there is a gain to be had from being full time or running a hybrid, but it’s not a man automatic ticket to having a better team - as we have amply shown in the previous two seasons. The advantage to be had is in the extra time the players spend together more than fitness - all of the players in the league are fit, regardless of full time or part time.
  4. This is pretty tired ground but again - part time and full time isn’t a massive gap like it used to be. A perfect example is that scorer of two goals, one of the best players on the park and general thorn in the side of East Fife all afternoon was Kieran MacDonald - a part time player. Yes there is a difference in fitness and quality - but I think the small gap is a true reflection of that gap and it’s not some minor miracle that EF find themselves within touching distance of the other three.
  5. Offered my pal outside at full time because he had absolutely lost his head.
  6. Honestly, I am fucking praying someone has got a photo of Regan Hendry laughing at Wallace and calling him a fat b*****d. He was absolutely boiling at full time, tears in his eyes.
  7. 8. I’m glad we got the third before half time because we’ve fucking battered them. Tait’s been excellent but will never last 90. Second goal was a total fluke, third a peach. Clyde away tells you the game isn’t over. We were even more dominant than we have been here and ended up hanging on.
  9. Could all of you fucking idiots please stop posting inane shite and talk about the game? Thanks, from everyone else.
  10. I don’t think the Callachan chat is that far wide of the mark.
  11. Think there was a great save there, can anyone confirm?
  12. If you had actually read my comments after the game I’ve heaped praise on Dumbarton and said they were the better side and deserved to win. Settle fucking doon, lads.
  13. A few notes from the highlights: Brennan definitely doesn’t get anything on Dingwall’s lob. The pass from Hendry is perfection. Dumbarton’s first is going so far wide before the deflection that it’s probably an own goal from MacDonald. The free kick from which they scored their second isn’t a foul and it’s then taken a good 10 yards from where the foul was committed.
  14. He was fucking excellent. Every time I’ve watched him prior to today he’s been cumbersome and not influenced the game in any positive way. Today I saw a totally different player. He played on the front foot and was at the heart of everything good for Dumbarton - winning the ball back and surging forwards on several occasions. If Duffy can get that sort of performance out of him on a regular basis he’ll be your best player by a distance.
