  2. Yeah, it’s a shame the way it’s worked out with our game being moved to the Sunday. Kenny is a great guy, heart of gold. The donation link is: Here
  3. Hi guys. In August last year Ross McLean - a very good friend’s brother - committed suicide in Glenrothes. Ross was reported missing on August 14 and we searched for him for 5 days, before finding him at rest in a quiet wooded area near his home. Ross’ family are understandably devastated by their loss and that they were unable to help Ross, but are determined that for others in a similar position, there is help available. Ross was and his family are East Fife supporters, so we will be taking part in a charity 11s game to celebrate Ross’ life at Bayview a week today, with all funds raised for the fantastic charity - Back Onside. A just giving page has already raised nearly £5,000, and we have managed to secure signed strips for a number of clubs, Hibs being one. The strip is available below, and all money raised will go to Back Onside to help those who need it. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364414723977?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=az5yphsksue&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=ec0uwzxiswu&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY There is also a donations page, if you’d like to donate anything: https://www.justgiving.com/page/matchforross

  9. If we are thinking of the same one, the boy miskicks it really badly and it dribbles back to McDonald. You’ve maybe just had a bad angle of it, but it wasn’t a passback.
  10. You’re being extremely lenient saying there was nothing he could do with the first.
  11. I’ve said I don’t think his distribution is great already, but realistically if he gets a by kick slightly wrong and it goes out for a throw in at the half way line, that’s much preferable to just kicking it up the middle and a centre half heading it directly back at us, but if the latter happened 10 times in a game you wouldn’t hear a peep from anyone.
  12. He’s quite the p***k, too. You’re right. See if Morton fans just embraced the big rough b*****ds image, I think folk would respect them a bit more. It’s this whole ‘hard done by by the refs’ pish that folk can’t stand.
  13. I do worry about a lot of our fans who seem to think that kicking it out to the touchline is somehow just a bad attempt at kicking it up the middle.
  14. It’s just really satisfying seeing a team with Broadfoot, Quitongo and Muirhead in the XI get beat. You’ll not find a more unlikeable trio in any team in Scotland. Can’t wait to see Vaughan’s dive.
  15. On Dabrowski, Murray wasn’t happy with him not saving the first goal either, and said he told him that in his half time team talk.
  16. Agree re: Vaughan, TX. I think Byrne and Brown at the base of midfield with Connolly one side, Mullin on the other and Stanton in the 10 is our strongest midfield, when everyone is fit. Extremely harsh on Vaughan and Easton, but an incredibly good problem to have. I can’t recall another squad in my time following the club having such depth.
  17. Forgot to mention the addition of Byrne totally changed the complexion of the game. In a similar mould to Brown (who also did well to win us possession when he came on) and really enjoyed his crunching tackle on the Morton number 8. Wouldnt be surprised to see both of them at the base of the midfield next Sunday at Hibs.
  18. Right, might return to the unedifying stuff later, see how I feel. The game… Flying out the traps and quickly got ourselves into a great position. Delighted for Hamilton to get off the mark. Thought he was more than a match for Broadfoot, but fell out of it a wee bit due to picking up a really silly booking and then walking the tightrope with Broadfoot in the referee’s ear every time his arse cheeks clapped together within 10 yards of a Morton player. Vaughan smashed home a penalty and it looks like we could give Morton a real doing. If you’ve attended Starks Park semi regularly over the last 25 years, you’ll know this was never going to be the case. An absolute gift of first goal to concede. Liam Dick doesn’t do enough to stop the cross, Keith Watson inexplicably decides not to header the ball and Muirhead has a free header that is right down the middle of the goal which Dabrowksi should do much, much better with. More on him later… Morton scramble home an equaliser and we fall apart for a long spell. Morton had us totally rattled. We were afraid to push on to try to press them because of the tendency of the Morton centre half (number 4) to shell a diagonal to Muirhead or Oakley and their ability to win something from that, which meant we sort of allowed Morton to have a lot of the ball and tried to retain our shape. However, playing a 39 year old centre half who can no longer run does come with its drawbacks, as Callum Smith showed so expertly. Sells Broadfoot the dummy so cheaply, opening up the angle to slot home. A great goal from our perspective as Smith has run 50 yards with the ball, beat his man the calmly slotted it away, but if we conceded that I’d be absolutely mortified. Big Kev - needs to do better for me. Lacks a command of his area and should have at the very least got a hand on Muirhead’s header today. Kicking is a bit suspect, too. Need more from him. What a difference having Murray and Watson at the back compared to last season with Lang and especially Nolan. Murray and Watson are a couple of bruisers who can absolutely do that side of the game, it’s great to have centre halves who are able to give as good as they get.
  19. Ideally Vaughan did dive. Hopefully it’s absolutely shameful. Enjoyed the boy who didn’t even make it to his seat in the Morton end before being escorted out again. Fucking brilliant way to spend a Saturday afternoon. “Mon eh ton”
