  1. I had the option of either, and I chose the tax free option. Ordinarily, this would mean that I would have had to declare the income, but because I won't be working this financial year (instead I'll be receiving a stipend), there is no way I am going to exceed the threshold. And the taxed interest rate was 3.something%
  2. I have checked my files and I can't see anything other than 4.20% anywhere. The terms and conditions on their website are no use, because they are talking about new fixed rate bonds which have a lower rate than the one I took out 18 months ago. I might ask in at my local bank in case they have any idea. The amount of money involved is insignificant, but as a point of principle I want to make sure I'm not being shortchanged.
  3. I have £x invested in a fixed rate bond with 4.20% Gross/AER, and I receive my interest payment annually. Last year's interest payment was paid on 30th April. This year's has been paid today (29th April). Should my interest payment be: a) 0.042 x b) 0.04177 x c) Something else I thought it would be a), but instead I had only b) paid into my account. The difference isn't much, but I just wondered where the discrepancy came from.
  4. Emmanuel-Thomas is a proper gangsta. I'll look up Will Ferrell and Adam Sandler. Both of them are bound to be pretty funny.
  5. There was an episode of Airline or Airport or one of those type of shows where a woman booked to go to one when she meant to go to the other. She only realised when she was actually on the plane.
  6. f your Dad is, or was, a hard working man, and is your hero, , and is, or was, just the best Dad EVER; if you are blessed to still have your Dad, or if he is an angel in Heaven (" ♥ ") , paste this to your status and let everyone know you are proud of your Dad. Thanks to "Ding Ping" on the P&B Status updates. I have 154 friends, because I only accept people I know. I think I only have three people from on here, but I've definitely met two of them, and I think I might have met C. Muir too.
  7. Cheers for those. I've added a few of them. I'll wait and see whether I'm getting an information overload before I add too many more
  8. At the moment I have 5 opta ones (UK, France, Portugal, Spain and German - no Italian?) plus retro_mbm which has a load of old football videos. I've just followed Graham Speirs too. I'll probably look up the BBC ones later then. I noticed Wilshere's and quite a few other Arsenal players were on his page too, but none of them looked very interesting so I just avoided them.
  9. I have just signed up in order to follow the Opta stats folk. Are there any football personalities worth following? I don't want to read about what they had for breakfast each morning, but I would be quite keen to follow ones that post about football.
  10. Probably not for much longer if she reads my last couple of posts on this thread
  11. I'm sure I remember hearing a story about there being another professional snooker player called Mark Williams who played at a minor level of some sort, and one day he got a cheque through for something like £80k which should have been for the more famous Mark Williams.
  12. I knew that L was lower and U was upper, but I wasn't sure whether there was a 23U as well as a 23L, and we were actually in adjacent rooms. I'll probably manage to fall out of the bed if I'm in "U". You can still travel with strangers if you want to save money I think. If I was travelling alone, I think I would have had to have paid more money to get a cabin to my self.
  13. Never mind - I managed to find a site which confirmed that they were in the same cabin.
  14. Has anyone here travelled on the Caledonian Sleeper in a berth? How does the numbering work? I'm trying to book it for me and my fiancee for the summer, and I've ticked for a shared berth. What it has given me is berth 23L and 24U on the way there, and 07L and 08U on the way back. I suspect that these are in the same cabin, but I'd quite like to know before I book it.
  15. I was just thinking this very thing last night. When I go a night out, the last thing I want to do is spend the majority of my time taking photos of it. I'd prefer to actually go and enjoy myself rather than posing for photos to make it look like I'm having a good night. Lots of people have mentioned this sort of post on here, but I hadn't really seen one until tonight: "Thought id put more trust in people and at same time found out why i shouldnt, really cant be bothered with 2 faced people anymore seriously" Unfriended. Another thing I've noticed a lot of recently has been people trying to use fancy words, and spelling them incorrectly. Tonight's example was "swarray" instead of "soiree".
  16. We have provisionally booked a venue for our wedding.
  17. I'm pretty sure it's RandomGuy. Has all the hallmarks of his brand of posting.
  18. It's not just pintage. I've seen a lot of words with -age tagged onto the end. Cocktailage has to be the worst though.
  19. I made chocolate muffins today instead of studying.
