I'm looking at the exam timetable now, and it only seems to have 7 out of my 8 exams on it. They've also managed to give us 2 on the same day, despite not having any in the entire first week and a half.

Mine will actually be in Statistics. I'll be looking at the spatial and temporal patterns of disease in Greater Glasgow.

I'm going to be doing a PhD in Streetwise Studies at the University of Life.

I have no doubt it will be a pain at times, but hopefully I'll manage to get through it

I'll like it a lot better when I'm getting paid to do it next year!

I have just accepted a funded offer for a PhD in Statistics at Glasgow for the next 3.5 years. I need to get a First Class Honours degree to get it though.

It's for short-sightedness, so I'll only be wearing them when I'm driving or at the football or looking at things far away. Hopefully I won't need them around the house or anything, and so a "dependence" won't develop.

Nope. I think it's because I'm doing a numerical subject, and I haven't ever really needed to do any essays or anything else which has required me to reference any texts. There have been recommended reading books for a lot of the courses, but I've generally just studied from the lecture notes and it has been a success so far. I thought about studying abroad, but decided against it for the same financial reasons you are facing now. Is there any way you can source a sponsorship or something similar from somewhere? Otherwise, perhaps apply for a job as an extra on Neighbours?

Possibly. They seemed to enjoy the sweets, but you never know, some people might well have felt like that. I didn't make a big deal out of bringing them or anything though. Are they looking for £4k because you borrowed a library book in 1843 and haven't brought it back?

There's only 15-20 of us who go to the lectures (out of about 25). No disruption was caused.

I have my last ever lecture tomorrow. I'm going to buy a box of chocolates or something to pass round everybody.
