  1. We have no attacking gameplan whatsoever. It’s lump it in the vague direction of Adeloye (who I thought did ok with what he had to work with today incidentally) and hope he can create something out of nothing. You’re never going to win games with that approach. That’s the first time I’ve seen the infamous hoofball in the flesh and it’s every bit as eye-bleeding as feared!
  2. I thought the radio team were fairly complimentary about us, although mainly second half. Derek Ferguson did amuse me when he said in the first half that the thing that frustrated him about us was a tendency to simply clear the ball too often instead of looking for passes. Thought that sounded familiar! Second half though, they were all in agreement that we should have had the game out of sight before what they called a very soft penalty decision. They did suggest in a roundabout way that Salkeld was a headless chicken when he came on - I think “he should conserve his energy when the team is down to 10 men” was how they phrased it. As others have said, hope this attitude carries over into the league. We looked ok in this cup before and were then honking in the league. If he reverts to McGinty & Salkeld straight back in, 5 at the back and an isolated lone frontman then I give up!
  3. f**k off Hopkin, just f**k off. Beginning to look like we were playing some football in the cup games and he reverts to that shite tonight. They were not a side to be running scared of but we made them look like 1982 Brazil.
  4. It’s never a penalty (and I think we should have had one in the first half) but we’ve got exactly what we deserved. Back to shitebag hoofball pish.
  5. Reverted back to shite ineffective hoofball. Hope the league cup games weren’t a false dawn.
  6. Reading looks like he’s going to be our main outlet. McKenzie did really well at the second & third goals. Adeloye looks decent, wonder how he’d do with Moff behind him. Salkeld looks just what Morton fans said he’d be, plenty of effort but not so much ability. Edinburgh City looked poor but that was night and day to the Albion Rovers game, hopefully promising.
  7. This has pretty much confirmed my fears from last season. We were told the end of last season wasn’t Hopkin’s team and players maybe weren’t giving everything for him. Well it’s his team now and it’s the same eye-bleeding, totally ineffectual hoofball. Adeloye looks like he might be decent if we play to his feet too.
  8. This is brutal. Zero football being played. Adeloye has missed a sitter after the Rovers defence made an arse of a punt and then we tried to return the favour by our keeper letting a hoof bounce over him!
  9. Ha ha, for a second there I thought you meant that was the scene! Cheers
  10. I’m going tonight. Is the end credit scene mid-credits or right at the end?
  11. We stayed up despite him, not because of him. He absolutely made us worse. Actually he does deserve some of the credit for keeping us up, he assembled the squad of diddies at Morton that managed to finish below us.
  12. Happy enough with the goalkeeper but it is getting a wee bit ridiculous the number of Morton players we’re signing. If our bespoke new home top turns out to be white with blue hoops then I call shenanigans!
  13. I’d much prefer Clarke to give Patterson an opportunity to show he can be a player for us than give Forrest yet another opportunity to show he’s pish every time he pulls on a Scotland shirt with the exception of his wee Nations League purple patch. 38 caps and utterly unproductive in 36 of them. Bring on the youth, if you’re good enough you’re old enough.
  14. Absolutely this. It’s our mentality that holds us back more than anything else.
  15. James Forrest taking a cross field pass on his chest, giving the ball away and then falling over absolutely sums up his Scotland career!
  16. Walsh might be of more use if we get a centre forward that’s able to attack the crosses he puts in. Some of his delivery was ok last season but at the same time pointless as we’d nobody in the box!
  17. I don’t think it’s unreasonable for some of us to be concerned about the direction we’re heading whilst, as Buky said, hoping we’re wrong. It’s subjective but there’s undoubtedly an argument to be made that we’ve been worse under the new manager. He’s won one league game and I think one cup game. He’s also overseen the utter shambles of the Clyde and Arbroath games. Our style of playing is horrible to watch and is quite clearly not effective and so far his recruitment has been almost exclusively from one of the only two teams to have been below us in the table. Again, hopefully wrong, but I’m struggling to see any grounds for optimism.
  18. So we finished bottom of the form table at the end of the season. We were saved from the playoffs by the team Hopkin assembled being even worse over the season. He’s already started bringing some of that team here. What could possibly go wrong?!?
  19. Don’t think Forrest deserves to be there, think Gauld would fit our system better but otherwise it’s as good as we could expect.
  20. Even that gives me the fear though. A good manager looks at what he has available and comes up with a game plan to get the best out of the squad, even if it’s not the plan he’d ideally use. What he doesn’t do is stick stubbornly to his “style” and shoehorn players into that regardless of how suited they are to it.
  21. Except we were looking like a far better side when we were pressing them higher and vaguely carrying a threat ourselves. The other team can’t score if we’ve got the ball. I’m not advocating 2-3-5 or anything but sitting 10 men across our 18 yard box and having no out ball whatsoever just keeps giving possession to the other team and is asking for trouble. On another day that cross that flashed across our 6 yard box gets touched in and we’re screwed. I really want to be optimistic but nothing I’ve seen since he took over has given me any reason to be hopeful.
  22. What’s Hopkin’s actual record since he came in? Afraid I don’t agree with the give him time to build his own team stuff. He did that at Morton and that’s all that saved us. The performances against Clyde and Arbroath were utterly woeful and should have seen him punted there and then. His style of “football” is eye-bleedingly appalling and as the last 20 minutes tonight showed he’s a negative shitebag that’s more concerned with not losing than actually trying to win a game. Don’t get me wrong, delighted that we’ve managed to scrape our arse over the line but seriously worried about how we’re going to “rebuild”.
  23. Just going to say similar. The only team roughly as shite as us is the Morton team he built.
