  1. I love the original precinct 13 so much that I've always avoided the remake. Ditto Pelham 123. I may just bite my lip and give them a go...
  2. The Beat That My Heart Skipped, Munich and The Departed are three that spring to mind. I can't think of any others off the top of my head right now.
  3. Looks like nobody told Obama that you can't say Merry Christmas these days...
  4. Yip. I can honestly say that I have never witnessed anyone being offended by a poppy. It's almost as if these right wingers are playing the victim card...
  5. Get Christie Love Mid 70s blaxploitation flick about a sassy female cop. Cliched but entertaining enough. 6/10
  6. The East Side Gallery is worth a look and it's interesting to see a stretch of the wall but tbh I reckon there is better street art elsewhere in Berlin . You do see some pretty good stuff at random when wandering around. That does look like a proper old school football ground and I imagine there's a good atmosphere. I took a stroll past Dynamo's stadium last time I was there. It is very communist/eastern European looking.
  7. I've never stayed in that particular hotel but I am familiar with the area. Like you say there are good transport links. The bars and restaurants around boxhagener platz are around a five minute walk away.
  8. Why has Matty Allan not been playing recently? Is he injured or just out of favour?
  9. I've never had much time for Tom jones. A weapons grade arsehole IMO.
  10. Stripes Bill Murray plays an unlikely army recruit in this 80s comedy. It never gets old. 7/10
  11. Death Kiss A vigilante, who happens to look like Charles Bronson, runs around kicking ass. Plenty of cartoon violence and gratuitous tits but not much in the way of plot and the joke wore thin pretty quickly. I'd put it on about the same level as a troma film from the 80s. I doubt if it'll be Oscar nominated next year. 3/10
  12. The Irish pub in the Europa centre may be your best bet.
  13. Hammer More blaxploitation nonsense starting Fred Williamson as a boxer under pressure to throw a fight. Average. 5/10
  14. Across 110th Street I'm on a bit of a blaxploitation thing at the moment. This is suitably violent and with some top funky tunes. 7/10
  15. Black Caesar fred Williamson stars as a mobster in 60s New York. One of the better blaxploitation films. Cracking James Brown soundtrack too. 7/10
  16. The Who support brexit. Herman's Hermits oppose it. Bucks Fizz are still making their minds up.
  17. Another OTL for Dundee last night. They've a worse penalty shootout record than England at the world cup...
  18. Depends what you're into. It's mostly chain shops, Starbucks and Irish pubs round there. It's fairly generic and not my scene at all. Good transport links. I'm pretty sure there is a direct train from Zoo Garden to the Olympic stadium. Like others on this thread i prefer wining and dining near the Kottbusser Tor or Warschauer Strasse railway stations as it's a bit more left field and generally cheaper.
  19. Lalo climbing through the ceiling was funny as f**k.
  20. The Who are fucking shite. Mods look stupid and Quadrophenia is the silliest film that has ever been made...
  21. Women with hairy armpits are sexier than those without...
