Jackson's award just confirms again what a massive, blue bigot fans club the Scottish media is, as if it needed confirming.

Aww, Colin Jackson lived on my Gran's road,
That's a shame. It's always sad to hear of ex-players hitting hard times.

Has there been any explanation as to why he's still on the air? They mock him for it from time to time but I can't recall anyone stating why he's not 'retired' officially.
There are plenty other mediocre pundits and journos so not sure why he's on all the time.
He'll have retired from the BBC staff but become a self-employed freelance meaning he'll be paid per shift but probably at a higher hourly rate than he was getting when on the payrole.

^^^This. Chick Young would never disappoint me as I've always known him to be a dribbling simpleton that I have no respect for.
Ooft. That's a heck of a slap in the face* for dribbling simpletons.
*Male ones only of course.

Graham seems to struggle to stay any length of time at a club. He did ok for us last time; in a season where we were incredibly low scoring and he was in and out the team, he still managed 10 goals.
I don't know how much better a striker we are likely to get, and if he's part of a Scougall-O'Halloran-Graham triangle of destruction, then I'm all for it!
If he's to be the marquee signing, however, then I'm disappointed.
If he's any sort of signing then I'm disappointed. He's just not good enough.

Burns is a Rangers star just like another Rangers star, Billy King, that was in the news yesterday. That's Hearts player King, 86 games for them, on loan at ICT, 23 games for them, and once on load to Rangers for 12 games. Rangers star though of course.

So in other words they've 'produced' two experienced players they signed from Hearts.

Tommy Wright was down in England himself last month watching a target in person. Don't know the player but there were only three League One games on the night in question:
- Oxford vs Sheffield Utd
- Walsall vs Chesterfield
- Charlton vs Scunthorpe
Probably Walsall as the Megabus fare would be cheaper than Oxford or London.

And an ex-Rangers player being headline news
Ah but it's a big, negative story so he's a Burnley player.

This really is BBC Glasgow's dream week. Two senior bigotfests and a junior one in between. Kleenex shares will have gone through the roof.

Assuming you meant Ugo, he'll be a damned sight more articulate than BFDJ or Kris Boyd.
Never assume.

It true BBC WATP mode, ex-Rangers player Ugo Ehiogu died but Burnley midfielder Joey Barton is banned for 18 months for gambling. Shouldn't be too long before the ex-Ger Barton is on Open All Mics though.

I quite like it in football when players/ coaches go to a club because they were a fan, or have some affiliation with them, rather than the usual purely for money, understandable though that is. It was why I never shared the hatred of Paul Sturrock when he left us, as he played his whole career at Utd and was a club legend, so I could see the attraction for him.
It feels a bit different here though. I get that he might well be a hibs fan, but the fact that he did similar to us 2 years ago to join their biggest rivals suggests that it isn't really just about joining his boyhood heroes. I would think if it was Aberdeen or rangers then it would have been the same outcome... He just wants to go to a bigger club to get more money.
Once again it wasn't so much Sturrock going to United that was the problem it was that he had said he wasn't interested a couple of days before he joined them. As Random says if there was honesty it wouldn't really be an issue. You can't criticise someone for taking their dream job.

A player that has constantly said publicly for 6 months how much he wants to stay and is always on the verge of signing yet never does goes and signs for somebody else? Wow, who saw that coming. Apparently everyone except Tommy and whoever decided to launch the season ticket sales today.

Former Rangers striker Marco Negri says new Ibrox team manager Pedro Caixinha is now in charge of "the most famous club in the world". (The National)

There we are then. Makes a bit more sense, but getting the name of diddy teams players wrong (names that aren't anywhere near alike) is standard procedure from the BBC.
That's more like it.

They're usually a bit more neutral in their wording
Especially when phantom penalties are given for the bigots. They would just never use such language.

But if you factor in Stevie May's miss, Spoony's run before finishing it with a passbook and Dunne's screamer that was tipped over, we definitely deserved to win .
And Frazer failing to reproduce his Rosenborg goal when it was still 0-0. Any hint at all about Saints being lucky that day is just wrong.

I know, if they sang that they wouldn't have room to fit in the sectarian bit.
That's why they don't sing it.

That's two well written, clear, correct announcements from Saints within a few days keeping fans up to date and fully informed. Somethings not right.

Lead article currently on the BBC website is about their live coverage of the Challenge Cup Final. Right next to it the top article is 'League overshadows Challenge Cup Final'. All involved in Scottish football continue to show they graduated from the Gerald Ratner school of sales.

Spurs have got to create the myth so that they can rake in a fortune from the naming rights of the new stadium though.
