This from the Independent's Ian Herbert (Chief Sports Writer) is as bad as I've seen recently http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/international/england-vs-scotland-fall-gordon-strachan-a7405356.html

Includes "St Johnstone were attracting 20,000 and Rangers well over 100,000 when Jim Baxter was doing his keepie-uppies during that extraordinary 1967 win at Wembley"

Don't be too hard on him. He's just quoting our total for the season.

It's an international week, so Scotland's premier golf correspondent has decided to crack open a bottle of Glen's and troll Rob Maclean on Twitter.

From the replies we are obviously not the only ones pissed off by BBC WATP...

@BBCTomEnglish @mrewanmurray well said Tom....PS. Any chance of some more Joey Barton chat this week on the nightly Rangers podcast...?

@BBCTomEnglish @mrewanmurray Got me... That, and the top-notch fitba analysis from Degsy Ferguson, the Guardiola of Glesga...

  3. The only reason to change the club you support is when you're brought up as an old Firm fan but then reach the stage of thinking for yourself, seeing the reality of what they are, deciding you're not a sectarian apologist and start supporting a nearby club that's there for football. If you don't, it shows you're just the bigoted, glory hunting c**t you pretend not to be.

    That's one view.

An alternative one though, would recognise it as a thoroughly legitimate topic, given where we now find ourselves.  You can't accuse our media of succulent type behaviour, but also then berate them for this type of thing.

The time for it was after the latest defeat whilst there was still doubt about him going or not. Discussing his replacement a day or so after both sides had stated there was to be no change is pointless and disrespectful to the sniveling little c**t. The succulent behaviour towards two teams has no bearing on this at all. Think we just need to agree to disagree on this one.

In fairness, it's a vacancy that should exist and surely soon will.

I agree it should but unfortunately it doesn't and the incumbent has just confirmed he isn't leaving. They should wait until it is actually vacant before discussing who should be taking someone's job. It's not very professional but then again it is the BBC.

No apology needed (apart from getting my name wrong).

Why the shooting down in flames comment? It was a genuine question.

Oh, and friendlies do not count! :P

Oops, so I did. I never noticed the spelling before. Apologies for that at least.

I read it as, in a good natured bit of fun way, as 'You wont get better than Falkirk playing a WC semi finalist at the ground' being met with 'Would two WC Finalists do?' Just banter, not typical P&B attempted one upmanship. It raised a chuckle here anyway. :)

They've been showing archived games all week. Overblown, I grant you, but not disgraceful.

I appreciate that they weren't exactly on the straight and level, but that was one hell of a good Rangers team.

The disgrace is that game was at Ibrox and therefore irrelevant to Sunday and was always above the line when you clicked on the page so that it was in your face whilst you had to scroll down the page to find the 3 appropriate Pittodrie clips showing a win for each and a draw.

It was clearly not there for editorial purposes, as highlighted by the narrative describing it which basically only says that Rangers scored 5 goals against Aberdeen at Ibrox in January 2000 as presumably there was nothing else to say about it, but as a complete GIRFUY to Aberdeen. If there's any doubt about that my man then you haven't really been paying attention this season, especially over the last few weeks.

It's not terrible surprising for me.

I'd say the percentage of employees in the whole of BBC Scotland who support either Rangers or Celtic is in the mid to high 90's.

I wouldn't be surprised at that. What does surprise me is the level of the ever increasing Rangers Int promotion. It's obviously always been bad but it's reached such levels that, as others have pointed out, it's as if they've given up any pretence of being anything other than an extension of Rangers Media and just gone for it. That they rightly feel they can get away with it is both worrying and unbelievable.

Without wanting to defend the BBC here, but they've had a few videos up this week of previous games.  I watched the 2-0 Aberdeen game from 2008, and a 2-2 draw (2002/03ish) at Pittodrie.

'at Pittodrie' being the operative words.
