Saints On This Day @SaintsOTD
Saints travel to Liverpool for a friendly on this day in 1928. 30,000 watch the English side triumph by 3 goals to 2.Mereyside comes out to see Saints play their 'carpet' game, teach Liverpool how to play football but suffer a glorious defeat. Obviously not much has changed.

Rangers Int's chums at the disgraceful BBC WATP even ran the job advert for them on their website.

He must be a masochist, there is no pleasure to be gained from visiting Broadwood at the best of times, never mind in February.
There is that too! . Why are Hibs playing a home tie at Cumbernauld anyway?

Salford City press on with their ground
Strange way to do the end of the west stand as the terrace is in sections and follows the slope of the pitch but the roof is flat
Aesthetics. You can't have new build spoiling the look of Salford.

It should have been a ban. He derails more threads than Grimbo ever did.
It's not the trolls that derail threads, it's the posters responding to their bait. Just ignore them. It's easy.

Chris Millar in press saying he just needs to play 3 more games for his extra years contract to kick in. Things are looking a lot better than a month ago.
And he would have had them, and more, if it hadn't been for that pesky physio.

That is astounding. Bonner actually knew Gary Naysmiths name?

Also a journeyman doesn't get anywhere near an international team let alone get 25 caps, even for Scotland.

Rather bizarrely WAP appear to be more excited with Tiny Wharton disallowing a goal against Dunfermline in 1968 than by Macca's resigning.
I think there's not the celebration about Macca because it was basically always known he'd be staying given it's really an already agreed extension kicking in rather than, like Joe for example, a completely new contract when he could have just left and gone elsewhere in the summer.

Saying that you have this weird scenario in our nation that Dons, Hearts, Motherwell, St Johnstone fans etc in the media can be open with their support - but the gruesome twosome sympathisers somehow need to keep quiet about it, or pretend they support a St Mirren or Airdrie.
It's not both of them though. It's just the blue bigots. The football media has many openly Celtic but apparently hardly any Rangers. It's such a ridiculous and unrealistic situation that you have to ask why they deliberately hide their allegiance as there is no way they need to do it.
I've often wondered why this goes on and the only reason I could think of is that there are so many of them they are trying not to show the real numbers but then again think, why would they, as they are 'the people' after all and don't give a fuck what anyone else things so why bother and I'm back to being baffled again. It's a weird situation but one that obviously exists.

ETA - Fill yer boots - hilarious stuff
Ah yes. Football before the 'there was contact' era. At least two of the goals would have seen today's fragile little snowflakes need emergency life saving treatment instead of just riding the tackle and getting on with it.

I would doubt that very much. Very very much.

So live commentary of both rangers and Celtic simultaneously, but the other game might only get a mention if there's a goal? Pish.
How are they doing two at the same time?

I think there's a minor impact when our biggest clubs are not in our top division.
I agree with this. A relatively minor financial impact in the greater scheme of things as it's crowds that are the greatest source of income in Scotland, as shown by Swello's recent article. We are never going to get game changing sums of tv/sponsorship money as the country's too small so the greater turnover of clubs the better as ambition should never be discouraged. Keeps things fresh too. It's the media's attitude that needs to change to benefit the game, not a couple of bigger clubs returning to their 'rightful place'.
When it comes to derbies, I haven't watched a bigot fest for years, the Edinburgh one is usually dire and the Dundee one is by far the best.

which maybe suggests our success is starting to grow our crowds,
It was due to a promotional campaign which wouldn't have been needed if our crowds were growing.

Be patient. The English 4th Division and National League haven't finished clearing out their rubbish yet.

Hope Rod Stewart does every single draw until he kicks the bucket tbh
If 2017 continues the 2016 trend he may well have done that.

I wouldn't bother what a couple of folk on there say. They are club yes men and one is the most neausiating club sycohpant imaginable plus they just don't like this site. Keep going please. You are by far the best source of info about Saints these days!
