  1. Sorry bud, you must have gotten lost. This is the Dumbarton topic. Clyde castoffs go to the WOSL.
  2. Absolutely this. You're talking about clubs who struggled to make three figures of home support at times, were often in peril both on and off the park and who play in utter crumbling dumps, whose own home towns don't give two fucks about them. Some of them a bawhair above amateurs, basically separated from Saturday league by having stands and maybe a social club. If the pyramid hadn't been introduced they'd likely have gone bust at some point. Don't get me wrong, they all had purple patches in League One, even the Championship in Cowden's case, but those were unusual spells in the history of those clubs. It's absolutely no surprise that as soon as the trap door came into existence they all started finding their natural level. A Fife based friend of mine and former member of this parish (mon' the honey badgers) has always insisted that the Kelty Hearts money men "sell conservatories by the gram..." Queens Park has entered the chat.
  3. Hard to disagree with that assessment, Moj. We were on top and looking dangerous and then just saw our arse and launched the ball miles thereafter. And on the page, our squad looks like it's a cut above the lowly level our club occupies. But results don't lie, nor do stats. And the stats say we don't do well against direct rivals and/or in pressure games. Stenhousemuir won today and it's a fair reflection as they're the team who put the ball away. It was a tense affair at times, a low quality affair at times, and at other points an entertaining match not unlike a cup tie. And Gregor Buchanan has a man bun. It's fine for Blair Malcolm as he's cool. But not for Buchanan as he's not cool.
  4. Come on now, old yin, my complaints about the match officials were fair and balanced, as were my muted observations about two beloved ex Sons. Because I'm famously nice.
  5. £5k to sack the manager, chartered first class flights to games, trips to Lewes. Someone's doing well. Who knew pulling pints in Surrey Quays paid so well.
  6. Don't start getting reasonable now that you're a grown up. We want classic Neilly, not mature Neil.
  7. I think his sister and dad were sitting in front of me and @Clarko_son some time ago and weren't very pleased with the criticism he received for a particularly poor performance on said occasion. The poor wee lambs.
  8. Not me, your honour. I'm always fair and even handed with everyone. I'm famously nice.
  9. Wasn't a classic game, lots of slack play and both teams cancelled each other out a lot. We didn't trouble the Stenhousemuir goalkeeper as every shot we had was wild. Ref and the stand side lino weren't great, but he balanced it out with poor calls for both teams. We lacked cohesion and cutting edge. Aside from a spell midway through the first half when we looked really dangerous. The quality of the game dropped off a cliff towards the end. Stenny's goal came with a bit of luck, but that's what you need to break the deadlock sometimes. Thought Edin Lynch and Gregor Buchanan were needlessly noising up the home support after the goal/full time.
  10. Looks like a bidding war is on the cards. Get your wallets out, lads, we're having a whip round to keep our journo.
  11. He's not even a target man. He's useless as an aerial target man type striker. Very much a ball to feet type, who just so happens to be tall. He was useless for us and completely disinterested, except for one spell in one game as Jan V pointed out. He'll probably drop down to the Lowland or WOSL soon enough. Rusty McLean i mean, not Jan.
  12. All the best to you and your lady (and wee yin), @Neilly Always great to see another Sons fan coming into the world.
  13. I live 5 miles from The Rock and it's been -4 here all week.
  14. I'd love to tell you it gets easier, but mine are years older than yours and still get up at 5.
  15. I agree with Moonster. The weather in Peterhead is Farrell's fault. Sack the board.
  16. The only suggestion that it won't be has been by folk on here, not by any credible source. It won't be moved.
  17. Worst outcome. We'll be soundly beaten and without a big stadium attendance money.
  18. Your made up numbers have convinced me. I'm actually sorry we beat Annan now as it's clearly better not to win Scottish Cup games and just hope that one of the toxic twins gift us 10 trillion rupees simply for existing. Thank you for showing me the light.
  19. Can we just take a moment to pish ourselves at how fanciful this comment is? Reminder: champy is not real, nor a reliable source of information.
  20. Don't you have a Stirling thread to comment on?
