Nik Wax is good too, though it's better for jackets and outerwear than it is for footwear. £5 a bottle from any outdoors shop or online and can be used on any material. I've used it on all my jackets that aren't fully waterproof. Works in a similar way to Crep Protect and Fabsil in that rainwater just beads off, but it's a totally different product, it's a micro wax solution suspended in water, rather than an aerosol moisture repellent.

Crep Protect is total shite. £10 a can and you need to use about half a can to get any decent result and then you need to reapply it every single time you wear them or it doesn't work, despite what it says on the tin. Get yourself some Fabsil, it's £5 from Screwfix and far better.

Got an unexpected payout from my step-dad's estate today. His estate was already settled and we've all had our inheritance already since his death, but this was from another pension that my old dear hadn't let on about and surprised us all with today. Just like the last time I got a payout from his estate, the money makes me uncomfortable. It'll be getting spent on spoiling the wee fella for Christmas on his Granda's behalf as I sure as f**k don't want it sitting in my account.
