  1. Went to a job in Kilmarnock town centre one day. Rang the door and when answered said I'm here to fix whatever. Fella sighed heavily and said, you want next door. He then, very patiently to be fair to him, explained that this happens constantly as there are a block of houses in the middle of the street which are called a different street name, just these 4 in the middle of a large street, and the numbers are the same, next door to each other but for a few feet between them. Absurd.
  2. Much obliged, that's helpful. Now, just to check, is "queer / queerness" another term for homosexuality, or is it something else now? I have a nagging feeling the term has evolved. Gracias in advance.
  3. Mine has the ear defenders too. No issues with my daughter.
  4. Be right back, just developing a growth mindset.
  5. I recognise (most) of the words in this tweet (cis?), but have absolutely no idea what they mean strung together in this sentence.
  6. Never seen it sold in any high street shops. I've always needed to get it from a plumber's merchant that either 1) knows me and or 2) I have an account with. I was even refused service for a bottle of it at Graham's Plumbers Merchant in Stirling as I hadn't used them before and needed a bottle while out there for a job one day.
  7. The A82 is (was) within driving range of a 3 wood from the grass embankment behind the annex of St Columba's High School in the 90s.
  8. It's more common in sprawling countryside estates than in towns and cities, hence why you assumed they weren't around here.
  9. Not as yet, but he's been tested for balance, hearing and eyesight. Having a look at the NHS info on dyspraxia, I'm not mega concerned as though he can be a bit clumsy and isn't great at things like cutlery and shoelaces, he's perfectly good on roller skates and scooters and with a pen or pencil. I'll definitely keep an eye though and raise it at the next consultation. Thanks.
  10. Sitting at home, not being a complete pillock. Unlike your good self.
  11. He doesn't just melt them in acid, he hunts them first. Rampaging through the countryside on horseback, firing his blunderbus at his lackeys and then dissolving the slowest runners. All good sport.
  12. Unless the boiling water causes the chemical to bubble out of the drain and give you chemical burns, as happened to my old tradesman when we were in a flat in the city centre. Albeit that was One Shot plumber's acid as opposed to household Mr Muscle, but still.
  13. My eldest has been getting assessed since age 3 for autism spectrum related disorders. He's super clever, laser focussed and has a lexicon that would embarass even me. They're now leaning towards a diagnosis of Asperger's / ADHD, which feels like the right fit for him as he gets fixated by topics that interest him, can be socially awkward (less so much "awkward", more over excited and intense in social situations) and can become hyper / emotional at a moment's notice as well as the aforementioned intelligence. He also can have sensory processing issues, like getting overloaded by loud noises or getting flustered and emotional if an item of clothing (for example) doesn't "feel" right to him. He's 7 now and his fine motor skills are behind his peers, but his language and numeracy skills are miles ahead, to the point he can be disruptive in class as he gets bored in lessons, plus he struggles to concentrate unless it's a topic he's interested in, then he's so engrossed he struggles to do anything other than that. Still some way to go before a final confirmed diagnosis, but I don't envisage Asperger's holding him back in life as he's very charming and witty as well as smart as a whip, so hopefully the hyper / emotional edges will round off with time and make him that bit happier overall.
  14. Or the tray hasn't been installed to run in the correct way, in which case your cola would be wasted.
  15. I was there a fortnight ago. It's got a Lidl now, which is new. To me at least. So lots to look forward to.
  16. Easier to f**k them into the Leven as it runs behind the West end goal. There's a stadium and a big rock stopping them from getting fucked into the Clyde.
  17. Play like we did against Motherwell and shouldn't be a worry. Play like we did the second 45 against County and Stenny would be thinking they could take a scalp. Agree that it's a good opportunity for the team to continue to gel and maybe takes the pressure of the league off a bit as well.
  18. That's a fairly optimistic bit of spin. You'll get a job in politics with that. Realistically, the Dumbarton team will be exhausted, both from fixture congestion and from having full time jobs.
  19. I have a whatsapp group with my mum and 2 sisters that we communicate on daily. Speak to my dad by call or text every few months. Almost never speak to my various step siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles and the like. Just not a big one for family stuff really.
