  1. I'm actually really motivated to keep my regime up - possibly because I'm seeing some movement in the weight I'm lifting - no massive weights or anything but progress keeps you at. Did 45 min on the cross trainer then a wee swim last night, compounds lifts tonight, hope to be able to go straight through Chrimbo.
  2. I thought last night WAS the finale She's had soem nonsense to deal with plot wise, but Claire Danes has been terrific in this.
  3. I've never really warmed to Morbius but I remember him being mooted as the lead villian for "Spiderman 4" before Sony went the reboot route, apparently as a way of cashing in on the vampire phenomenom we have on pop cultuire these days. The 94 Cartoon was brilliant, That and the Batman show from the same time just nailed everything.
  4. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/dec/11/liverpool-daniel-sturridge-tom-ince Ince and Sturridge on the hit list apparently. Sturridge is interesting one, would keep Suarez central but doesn't Sturridge want to play through the middle as well?
  5. Funnily enough, I'm sure the "Dark Knight" trilogy was pre-planned in a different way before the second movie with the Joker being the principle baddie in 2, and Dent's transformation into Two-Face happening at the end of 2, beginning of 3. The best link i can find is here http://www.huffingtonpost.com/quora/did-christopher-nolan-ori_b_1685043.html I liked DKR, but this strikes me as a much more condensed and potentially satisfying idea for a trilogy, and more likely to keep the "Freaks in Heat" vide of the Dark Knight into the third film. Of course, The Dark Knight would have been a different movie in this scenario I think the problem with the third films is, as anotehr poster pointed out, the often have to follow the series high point, and they don't have much in reserve - how do you top the Joker in batamn villany? You can;t. Ditto Doc Ock and teh Green Goblin in Spiderman. Comic book movies are probably here to say, it;d be nice to see a film studio approached a franchise with a LoTR attitude - building to a climax in the thrid film instead of trying to keep it going. Take the level of planning involved in the Avengers movie, and apply it to a single character.
  6. That would be a bold, clever move, The appeal of the show to the masses seems to be built around the Lewis-Danes relationship though, so it's hard to seeb them doing a Wire and writing such main characters out of the picture.
  7. Good post, I agree with much of this - I read that danes and Lewis had signed up for five seasons - how can you get 3 more years after this? I'm on c4 time as well. I've accepted that the show has been nonsense for a while, but the conversation between Carrie and Nazir was a particular lowlight. Still very enjoyable though.
  8. Has there ever been a decent threequel? Even 'Rises was a comparitive disapointment imo.
  9. Christmas is coming up, tends to be prime "falling of the wagon" time, how are folks doing? All tanks aye? I'm still slugging away, and I can notice small, slow differences with my compound lift work out (Squats, Deadlifts, bench press pull ups) Some suggested I try "pyramids" which was described to me as starting with high reps and working down in a set - ie 15-12-10-8-6. i tried it with squats earlier in the week and was smashed What's the best way to lift to burn fat? I try to do cardio but it's so boring, even 20 minutes interval training can be a chore.
  10. Yes, that is exactly what i'd do if you were going down the Robin route - introduce Batman to the audience through his eyes, kind of like Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson
  11. I don't think JGL will be continuing his Nolanverse character, the new Batman will surely be a fresh slate Introducing Robin would be a quick clear way to establish the new franchise as different. It's a hard one to balance though.
  12. Like Brock Le... Edit only joshing forehead, yeah Detective is the way to go!
  13. I've ran out of greenies kev, or else I would have plussed your last few posts. A detective angle for the next Bat-film would be great, the Riddler would also work in that vein.
  14. Mr Freeze is is a good villan because he's a bit of a tragoc figure, it;s a shame Arnold has ruined him for the forseeable movie going future. I actually thought The Ventriloquitst would ahve fit into the Nolanverse quite well, in an unhinged sort of way, it'd be a real opportunity to do some different. My problem with the Mad Hatter is that in the wrong hands he turns into a bit of a Joker rip off, I thouight the Arkham games captured him very well though. The good thing for the next Bat films is that Nolan, Joker and Dent aside, picked some left field villans, leavong favourties like The Penguin and Riddler free.
  15. fine shout It's not so much about their quality but their pop culture resonance - i think, for example, that The Ventriloquist is a brilliant Batman villain, but I'd be suprised if he was the lead villian in a Batman film
  16. Many a comic nerd has called for a film adaption of "Kraven's Last Hunt" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kraven's_Last_Hunt
  17. a TLC match with a fall finish? Pet peeve right there. Still, is this on Sky Sports?
  18. That's it really - and I don't have a problem with that, it's an interesting route to go down, and Spiderman, along with Batman, has the best rogue's gallery in comics so it;s good to see it used. I thought the casting in the first film was excellent, and liked the Garfield-Stone chemistry, but the film somehow felt less of the sum of its parts. If those two had been slotted into the first two Raimi Spidey flicks..... Edit to add - To be honest Spiderman at his peak in the comics (the 70s with John Romita Sr) the supervillan was secondary to the Dawson Creek angst anyway!
  19. Electro's a real second stringer in Spiderman terms, Interesting route to go down though
  20. Days of the Future Past is one of, if not the, great X-Men stories. The movie has so much potential.
  21. What in? No idea about your situation, but this may be of interest - http://www.carnegie-trust.org/our-award-schemes/postgraduate-schemes.html
  22. I always thought Miz could develop into a good mid-card face.
  23. You need to be realisitc though, Sahin and Allen were the big signings of the summer, and Gerard is Gerard so midfield revamp is unlikely, until at least Lucas comes back, and he;s not going to offer goals. Suarez may be carrying them goals wise but he's not the most consistent of finisers. So it;s either a wide forward, or pushing him wide and repalcing him with another striker. A 4-2-3-1 with Suarez giving a free role from the left, and Gerard in front of Allen-Sahin with Sterling on the right could be effective.
