  1. You get them for Christmas but there's always one sweet that nobody likes - we're down to the Double Deckers in the Celebrations tub and there ain't nobody gonna eat them.
  2. PM doing a conference this afternoon and the "leaking" regarding what he might say is tending to think there'll be more bad news than good. For a government that was mainly issuing optimistic summaries up until just before they cancelled Christmas I think this change is the main reason we're seeing PP in the last few weeks. Here she is in her true form... Edit - If the news s the £500 grant to self isolate , that wouldn't be bad news and it might (in his own mind) be then three cheers for Uncle Boris.
  3. It's part of their overall "small government" agenda.
  4. Since I'm meant to be working at the moment, I won't read the full article right now, but I assume in the accelerated scenario the vaccinations are being administered more swiftly, and the deaths estimate therefore goes down. Fairy Nuff, I just did and it relies on an estimate of 500,000 vaccinations a day rising to 600,000 a day by March - optimistic. On the 37.000 or 40.000 as totals for the numbers of Covid deaths in 2021 - given that the UK has already recorded 20,000 these also seem optimistic.
  5. The Accelerated Scenario isn't bad at all IMO. Would take that right now. Less deaths following the accelerated path - can you explain the logic behind that?
  6. Erm, do we think Boris's "coded criticism" of the Trump era today (& Priti's yesterday) will improve relations with the incoming Biden administration?
  7. Unless Trump gets a pardon you'd imagine he'll be spending a whole lotta time with his lawyers. It's obviously in the Republican's interests for him to fade away and if Biden could use it as leverage against the GOP not be too arseholey in Congress it would be worth it for him too. I'm sure many Americans would like to make it like season 9 of Dallas (a bad dream) the problems are whether Trump would agree to any such deal to remain in the background and if so for how long once the pardon had been granted.
  8. I think Lennon knows his days are numbered and was playing to the paranoid element of the Celtic support.
  9. She's also said she wants ScotLab to be independent (sic) of the party down south, should she make this the focus of her campaign? I'd say yes but then I'm unlikely to vote Labour this side of Independence.
  10. ......straight from the Yes Minister script!
  11. Would've made more sense to say 200,000 per day. Did the calculation in my head, being good at mental arithmetic is indicative of having a large aubergine.
  12. I see Dominic Raab is today saying that the UK's focus on giving all UK adults a first dose by September means some folk might miss getting their second jab within 12 weeks.
  13. Might be a cliche but I don't see much between the bottom 6 clubs, with Dundee Utd. & Livi being that little bit more consistent, although on the basis of our H2H games I don't understand why Livi are comfortably above us. I see a lot of 6 pointers between now and the end of the season....
  14. Tend to agree but maybe the May election could be seen as a free swing.
  15. Normally quite sceptical of this thread but when you see an online article with the headline... only to read the explanation in the main article... ...misleading headline and there's always the people who only read the headline and file it away as Nicola hates grannies!
  16. I'd probably go either Labour or Green as I'd expect a post-Independence SNP to drift a bit rightwards - looking at the current minters who represent ScotLab I'm choosing Green but might be willing to Switch to Labour as I live in Ayr, really whoever seemed best placed to keep the Tories out although I'd have to wash my voting hand in bleach if that turned out to be the LibDems....
  17. Seems to me it was Robertson expressing his personal opinion, I'd be surprised if the Championship clubs voted to suspend the season after all it's less than a month since they got £500k each from Holyrood which I reckon will be a substantial sum for most of them.
  18. In between making some of the most mind-numbingly awful music of all time.
  19. It's all a bit up in the air at the moment and obviously will be until Covid is over but the uncertainty has led to one famous Scottish performer calling for a second referendum....
  20. Hopefully with the combination of lockdown (lite), vaccination and the better weather due in spring we will be able to work out some sort of exit strategy by the summer
