  1. Problems with strawberries right now. Shite weather in Scotland over the past few weeks to blame.
  2. He's still called Lord Miles I don't really care about the intricacies
  3. This article seems to omit the fact he's actually Lord Miles
  4. I watch a lot of car and motor racing things on youtube, and since people who do this all think Jeremy Clarkson is god I get a bunch of his and Top Gear's post-2010 shite output in my recommendations. I think I posted about it on here at the time, but here's a video from his TV show where he does a comedy routine about wanking in hotel rooms: Genuinely nauseating.
  5. Channel 4 constantly playing their EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT FROM EVERYONE ELSE ident.
  6. Taliban press conference now. A man with very full eyebrows taking questions from American news. It's all very surreal.
  7. I'm opening the airlock. We're all going to die.
  8. Week 33 update Good news! Gerd Muller died this morning: Gerd Muller: Bayern Munich and Germany legend dies at age of 75 | Football News | Sky Sports I'm sure more detailed obituaries will come out soon but the Sky one is as succinct as you need to be: You can add a European Championship, three European Cups and four league titles for Bayern. There's very few footballers ever who can compare with his stats. Muller died at 75, so he's worth 50 Base Points for @chomp my root, @expatowner, @Indale Winton, @JustOneCornetto, @Karpaty Lviv, @Lofarl, @Ned Nederlander, @psv_killie, @qos_75 and @thistledo, with a Vice-Captain pick for @Fuctifano returning 75 points. As a result, the standings look like this: 1. Ned Nederlander 553 2. Savage Henry 344 3. Fuctifano 334 4. Ludo*1 255 5. Lofarl 243 6. Bishop Briggs 241 7. choirbairn 240 8. 9. I'll be honest, I was getting a bit bored the last time I was filling these in and I didn't really look up Greece that much. It's worth pointing out that as generic as Karagounis was as a player, there's not really much else to offer that's better. Purely based on romanticism I'm going to pick Vasilis Hatzipanagis - Wikipedia, but I suppose they can't really compare to a three time Olympic champion in Dimas. For Germany I'm picking Beckenbauer and Schumacher and putting Schumacher above him. Guam are shite and their current captain has the most appearances and goals, so step forward Jason Cunliffe - Wikipedia. For the non-footballers they seem to be a first in all of the countries I've looked at. When you google "best Guam sportsmen" you get a few links to Guam-based news websites that list a bunch of people who are among the greatest players in various sports... in Guam, and nowhere else. I don't really want to list someone based on their high school sports career DECADE’S MULTI-SPORT ATHLETES: #1 DE’AUNDRE CRUZ – GSPN – Guam Sports Network so if anyone can offer anything meaningful here, go for it. Guatemala have Oscar Sánchez (footballer, born 1955) - Wikipedia who was named their best player of the 20th century. Carlos Ruiz (Guatemalan footballer) - Wikipedia has been at a similar level for the 21st century, with a distinguished MLS career. Érick Barrondo - Wikipedia won Guatemala's only Olympic medal with silver in the 20km race walk in 2012. Despite now being 30 he seems to only have competed for about five years, with a gold and silver in the 2011 Pan American Games being his only other major successes. Is this better than Ruiz? Guinea aren't one of Africa's best options and they don't have much to offer. Titi Camara - Wikipedia spent most of his career in the French and English top leagues. Pascal Feindouno - Wikipedia spent ten years in France and the rest of his career in tinpot leagues, and has an impressive goals to appearances ratio. Naby Keïta - Wikipedia is currently at Liverpool and aged 26 is a decent shout for winning this in a few years. I'm probably inclined to pick him now actually, since he's won more than the others. Unless I'm missing something obvious I can't find any notable non-footballers for Guinea. Certainly not on the level of a Champions League winner. Guinea-Bissau ae much worse and currently have a very young squad. Their current squad seems to have someone from Raith Rovers in it, so that's the level we're dealing with. They also seem to have a problem with people representing other countries. PSG and Portugal right back Danilo is from there, Barcelona teenager Ansu Fati is from there but represents Spain, so they're out. Jonas Mendes - Wikipedia is a goalkeeper with the most appearances for them, and wikipedia alleges he's been Guinea-Bissau's player of the year five times. As good a choice as any. For the non-footballers, Augusto Midana - Wikipedia was a six-time African champion in freestyle wrestling, which seems good enough for me. Guyana's best players seem to mostly be domestic-based. Walter Moore (footballer, born 1984) - Wikipedia leads them in appearances, playing as far afield as Finland and Kazakhstan. They seem to have a few teenagers playing for English Championship sides now though, so this could change in the future. Either way it's going to be an easy win for the non-footballer. Vivian Harris - Wikipedia was a world champion boxer in the early 2000s. So was Wayne Braithwaite - Wikipedia. Guyana is part of the West Indies in cricket and Shivnarine Chanderpaul - Wikipedia has lots of cricket numbers. Same for Clive Lloyd - Wikipedia. I think the cricketers beat the boxers here, but I'm not sure which should get top spot.
  10. I put your cyclist from the black and white days in. France aren't short on people from a range of sports, it's not a slight on anyone here to fall short. He's still not as good as Zidane.
  11. Lot of shite Humans have expressive faces. This isn't unique or selective to certain races. Attempting to gatekeep who can and can't express themselves with out of context pictures from the internet is both a waste of time because it's never going to happen, and it'll just undermine any attempt at racial harmony because a miniscule proportion of the people targeted will think it's an appropriate or necessary way to think. Alternatively, to use a favourite of the covid thread:
  12. Ken Loach has been expelled from the party and twitter seems to be calling him a holocaust denier
  13. When the Subway put its various measures in place, one of the things on the poster reads "don't board a train if you don't feel you can do so safely" or similar. If a train has more than three people on it and one of these panic merchants feels it's not safe, why don't they simply not travel?
  14. As someone who has spent the past week or so playing GTA III while spamming the health, armour and weapon cheats multiple times a mission to be able to overcome the terrible aiming and camera controls, they won't just be light touch-ups.
  15. Clearly Scottish education has failed me. I can't understand a word of this.
  16. stormzy complaining about people typing three asterisks when he has posts like this in his back catalogue:
  17. How we must long for the days of state education when it completely ignored children's emotional and mental well-being.
  18. Purely in terms of proportion The Wire is obviously quite near the best TV programme ever made, given how many things there are that are worse than it. It's also quite close given it's quite easily one of the best TV programmes ever made. If you hover your cursor over the hand (on a computer) it says something like "so-and-so has joined recently" but I can't find one to take a screenshot and show you.
  19. Kyle Reese wasn't a terminator, this is pretty basic stuff.
