  1. 2004 now and the BU's Visited Bonnyrigg Rose, looking to complete a League double for that season. They did so in an exciting 3-2 victory. The team was: Cairns, Smith, Dolan (Loney), Todd, Burrows, Muirhead, Mooney, Donnelly, O'Boyle, Hunter (Struthers), Jeffrey. John Jeffrey scored twice, with Kevin Donnelly getting the other.

  5. Now on to 2005 and an East of Scotland Cup first round tie at home to Lochee United. The BU's scored an emphatic 5-1 victory over the Junior Cup semi-finalists. The winning team was: Cairns, Smith, Russell, Cormack (Vella), Foster, Murphy, Mooney, Jeffrey (J Martin), Winning, O'Boyle, Donnelly. The goalscorers were George O'Boyle and Jamie Winning, who both grabbed doubles and John Jeffrey.

  7. For a teaser, we go back two years and a home match with Lochee United. The BU's were cruising 3-0 but lost with a goal in the last minute. My question is, what minute did Lochee score their first?
  8. On this day in 1972, the BU's faced Bathgate Thistle in the semi-final of the Brown Cup. The 4-0 win was even sweeter as the game was played at Creamery Park. The line-up that day was: Anderson, G Logan, McQueen, Simpson, Frew, Oliver, Sinclair, Brown, Tierney, McGregor, McOwat subs Millar, Zelman Goals came from a brace from Jimmy McGregor, one from Jimmy Tierney and a Len Frew penalty.

  11. In 1990, the BU's hosted Newtongrange Star in a League match. Russell Cheape was the match-winner in a 1-0 win. The team was: Kirkwood, Dunleavie, Malloy, Purdie, McLean, Allison, Paterson (Dalton), McLennan, Fisher, Cheape (Dawson), Kneeshaw

  14. Tough teaser today, at least I think so. Back in 2002, the BU's secured a 1-0 win at Nitten. Who scored the winner on his debut?
  15. 1946 saw the BU's travel to Whitburn, to face Armadale Thistle in the East of Scotland Cup semi-final and ran out deserved winners 2-1 Willie Miller scored the opener from 30 yards and after 'dale equalised, Jim McLean scored the winner. The team was: Bennie, Archibald, Brash, Gardner, Liddle, Gibb, McGowan, Pryde, McLean, Miller, O'Hagan
  16. Now back to 1947 and the visitors in a League match were Dalkeith Thistle. A crowd of close on 3000 saw the BU's win 6-0 in the bright sunshine. Thistle 'keeper Muir dislocated a wrist when the score was 2-0. The BU's line-up was: Stanners, W. Mitchell, Brash, Paton, Stewart, McKie, McGowan, Dickson, Anderson, Pryde, McLean Goals came from John McGowan who netted two, one a penalty, a hat-trick from James Anderson and one from Jim McLean.
