'David Warner's strides on and off the field have been recognised with the vice-captaincy of the national cricket side.'
Every time I've seen him he has been striding on and off from the middle.
Is he only racist on weekdays now or something?

But you must also concede that practising a shot makes that player better at that shot.
Well, yes. But you are getting dangerously close to Matthew Syed "Bounce" type nonsense here. You need a completely different range of shots to play doubles, compared to singles.
To switch it about, why haven't the Bryans just practiced their groundstrokes more and become top singles players? Given they would have made much more money from tennis that way.

Haha, Warwinka's tweet "I woudn't wish it on my worst enemy". What a shitebag.
Krygios is a p***k alright, although you can't help but warm to him with such wet lettuce media.
Let's get things in order. He said "Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend"
Can you imagine if it was two non-professionals anywhere else in the world, who actually have to pay per hour to play on the court, it would be certainly a lot worse than that.
We are all doomed.
His brother was cut off midway through an Aussie radio interview when he said :-
"Vekic obviously loves the Kokk"
Wawrinka should have laughed it off or even better said "Well, she sure as f**k wouldn't have banged you". He comes out of this looking as much of a penis as Kyrgios.

Why are doubles players more adept at volleying than singles players? They practise them more
Again, not really. Some people are better at volleying because they are better at volleying.
Take David Ferrer for example. Top 5 player in the world at singles. If he'd have practised the same amount of time in my view he would have been nowhere near the top 10 in the world at doubles.
Weak serve. Small in height. Very average volleyer. A lot of his singles strengths are physical. He's a grinder and can trade groundstrokes for hours. Not much use in doubles as the points are over very quickly and it's not a physically demanding game.

Definitely the utter beasting they've had on the Scott Allan situation.
Just when you think Sevco can't humiliate themselves and their fans any more, they manage to surprise you.
Tremendous stuff.

it's completely disrespectful to Vekic
And Kokkinakis can't be too happy to have his name chucked in here either.

Tactically it is a far different game. But it just takes a solid partner and adaption to the different tactics used. A good singles player would always be able to adapt if they played doubles full time.
Again that's not true really. You need to be able to volley to play doubles well. Not all singles players are particularly adept at that.
Return of serve is also greatly different. Because there's someone at the net waiting to mash it away if you just scrape it back. It's a completely different game.

If he played all the time he would be better than the Bryans, l.
I don't think that's true at all. Its a completely different game.
He might be top 10 in the world at doubles but he might not. There's a lot more depth in doubles.
He's had some decent Davis Cup doubles results but also some rubbish ATP losses, with decent partners .

So if I were to join, would I then be only guaranteed one ticket?
No.. You can buy 4

Going to try get tickets for Davis cup on the Saturday, can anyone speculate on how hard it will be to get tickets ?
Tickets go on sale for BTM members on Tuesday. Public sale of leftovers on Thurs. I don't think it will make Thursday with any left..
However.. There's still time to become a BTM member before Tuesday. Get on the website and pay 15 or 20 and guarantee yourself a ticket.
If you've been at an earlier tie you also get access to the Tuesday priority sale.

Leander Paes might be getting on a bit but he's a multiple doubles slam winner. He's not going to go down easily, and unless Andy decides to tank it neither will he.
Its a scratch pair against an in form and regular top doubles pairing.
As I said Murray and Peers should win and will be expected to do so.

Murray and Peers should win handily.

Always had the feeling that even when Australia got the 100 up without loss that a collapse wouldn't be far away. Can't see it lasting until lunchtime tomorrow, with England's bowlers coming back after a night's rest I would fancy they will skittle the tail end quickly.
It was always going to be difficult for the English bowlers to match the intensity of the first day.
Both sides knew the match was over and the Ashes are over. Its just a case of playing this Hibsing out to it's conclusion.
Australia are horrific. And horrible as their middle order is they have f**k all coming through their state system to improve it. Usman Khawaja is still in their A team !
Their bowling stocks are healthy but their batting is garbage and going to get worse over the next year.
Marvelous to watch.

England shaded a couple of the sessions today, I thought.
Not whining again about nasty pitches that don't let the flat track bullies prosper?

If Australia can't bat on it, how are England going to bat on it?
Pretty well actually !

Lyth's failure will be masked by the Aussie collapse.
Another waft outside off
He shouldn't be playing in this thread. He's looked completely Australian all series...
Not like we didn't all call it.

Another 2 1/2 day test..
I'm with boycott. He's proposing we move to 4 day test matches.. As something like 70% finish in 4 days anyway.
I think that's the future. Crack down on pathetic over rates.. And limit it to 4 days.. Maybe start day/night tests more often

Yeah. This is nuts.
It s just a bang average group of batsmen being exposed when the conditions don't suit flat track bullies

Don't think Murray will be remotely concerned by this result.
Depends where it fits in his training blocks. He's had a few results like this during the hard court seasons as he's been deliberately over trained.

Need to start looking at whether these jokers deserve 5 tests..
Bring back the Kiwis

Mixed feelings about A Glasgow tie.. Would have been awesome in the Hydro but for the roof problem.
I'd rather it had been in the bigger venue in Manchester.. Tickets will be gold dust for the Emirates.
LTA membership comes in handy though.

How did they achieve this astonishing feat of playing in the mighty top division?
Alongside Hamilton and St Johnstone as well?
