  1. Booked up to cycle the North Coast 500 in August with a couple of mates. We're doing it over eight days, so it averages 65 miles a day. Can't wait to tackle the Bealach Na Ba.
  2. Just about. Wasn't much in the first half, but after Greig got the opener we were very comfortable. Second half we were excellent all over the pitch, with Kirkpatrick and Flannigan causlng Cove's defence all sorts of problems. Goodwin was everywhere and strolled it once again.
  3. I agree with both your points. While on the face of it the decision to award times to Froome et al is fair, a precedent has been set with no real basis. Crashes and mechanicals happen all the time, for all sorts of reasons - its part of the sport. Where do you draw the line.
  4. Agreed. With the signing of Goodwin, a strong looking midfield squad looks even stronger. It also means Holmer will have more opportunities to be creative. Good players, e.g. Hetherington may find they have less opportunities to impress.
  5. Sagan once again the star man yesterday. Huge talent and always willing to have a go. Smart, strong riding from Froome and Thomas. Liked Froome's nod of head when Sagan had seen who had gone with him and asked if Sky would help.
  6. He hasn't really looked any better than previously in the two friendlies I've seen (Fort William and Dundee).
  7. I'm amazed it doesn't happen more often in cycling.
  8. I agree with this. Quintana sat up when he and Froome crested the summit. If he'd stayed on Froome's wheel the outcome would have probably been different. Anyway, I'm away out to practise that Froomey descending position down Glen Brae.
  9. I liked Liggett and Sherwin, but I think they were past their best before date. Boulting is doing a decent job and I quite like Millar. Prefer Eurosport though, especially if watching the whole stage.
  10. Cav in yellow after rolling back the years to beat Sagan and Kittel in the sprint of today's stage 1 of Le Tour. A bit OTT in his post match interviews about dead soldiers and African children though.
  11. Is that correct or is it just how he is perceived? How many red cards has he received?
  12. Indeed. Entertaining game for a friendly though, with Goodwin and O'Dea the respective pantomime villains on either side. Good fun. Dundee lost a lot of their creativity when Stewart went off at half-time. Wighton looks like he's come on a bit since Raith last year; Dundee's style suits him more. Pleased to see Duffy get off the mark and link up well with the likes of Stewart and Loy. Good to see wee Paul and Scott Bain back at t he Indodrill.
  13. Watching big Jim is going to be worth the season ticket on its own.
  14. Duffy is talented. Good pace, good attitude. decent on the ball. Difficult to know how he'll do with Dundee. Wouldn't surprise me if he didn't get many starts, but wouldn't surprise me if he did well. I hope it's the latter.
  15. Solid, dependable defender. Mainly used at left back, but equally effective at centre back. A bit limited going forwards, certainly at Championship level. Was an excellent player for Alloa, hence why Hartley took him to Dundee, but that was clearly, and not surprisingly a step too high.
  16. Agreed. If Parry got a season long injury, we'd look to bring someone else in, but to sit on the bench most games McDowell is fine.
  17. But what will he do when he finally gets bored of using the f*cking spoiler button?
  18. Wasps1 never tires of making an arse of himself.
  19. Beginning to get some fitness back after my arm break and a recent chest infection. 40 miles at a reasonable lick yesterday and 23 at an easy pace today with my two daughters today for Fathers' day. :-)
  20. You can tell how excited she is to be the filling in that sandwich.
