  1. One of the all time great clips. I wonder who will be first to use it to berate Church?
  2. Very good and deserved three points today. Kelty started brightly, but we came into it and after Scougs' goal direct from a corner we were the better team. Couple of decent chances missed and then Rodden sticks one away nicely from Taggs cross after a nice interchange of passes down the right. Rodden's pace and harrying had the Kelty defence rattled and he took advantage of panic to slide his second in. No failures for us today. I thought McIver had a really good game. The other new players also did well (Hogarth, Stanger and Miller). Hopefully Scougs' injury isn't serious. Rodden deserves to start next week, with probably Sammon (who looked tired as the second half wore on) dropping out. Kelty were poorer than I expected, although they clearly have good players.
  3. You should stick to watching the "Champions' League" on TV if that's your attitude. What the f*** had the price got to do with it?
  4. It may be that the manager gives Howie a shot at left back when he's available (anyone know what's wrong with him?). He's not naturally left-sided, but he did well there last season. With Stanger coming in Howie might not be first choice in central defence, although Durnan going off injured and looking short of fitness prior to that is a concern. I thought McIver was the better of the two strikers yesterday and wasn't surprised that Sammon was the one substituted. He wins a lot of flick ons and holds the ball well. We missed Taggs on the right and we immediately looked better both going forwards when we changed to a back four, moved him to right back and Wee Kev inside a bit and with less defensive duties. Durnan going off completely ruined that positive tactical change.
  5. Firstly I enjoyed the game, it was competitive and both sides played some decent stuff, although neither had enough quality up front to deserve the win. Not sure whether the goal is all Hogarth's fault, but he's at Alloa to learn and develop, so most important thing is he learns from the incident. Scougall was a class apart, but I also thought King and Miller did well. Robbo still comes straight back in for one of them though. Was shouting for a pen at the time (from a long way away admittedly) but looking at the highlights, it would have been very soft. Thanks again to the guys for the continuing quality of the highlights BTW. There's a groundswell against Church just now, which I think is unfair. He's not the greatest defensively, but he links up well and gives us good width and a natural left foot. Let's get behind the young guy.
  6. It really was. Scougs clearly likes it at Alloa and I believe part-time suits him now. He could comfortably play Championship top half at least; we are lucky to have him. If injuries etc allow him and Robbo to start most games, we will do OK I think.
  7. Who says it doesn't? Kevin Cawly Kevin Crawley Keven Cawley Kevin Cowley K Cawley
  8. As Skyline Drifter says the refs have to "upload" data to the SFA Extranet system then there would appear to be at least some duplication. I'm not sure I've come across a business process of any complexity where isn't at least some area of inefficiency. And often it's mindblowing, especially for big organisations.
  9. Thanks. It would be interesting to know how SPFL process the data. I'm guessing they use the file e-mailed to the ref, but you might be right in that they link into opta etc. Certainly this could save them some checking/processing, but they might not want to give up control. I'm a bit sad in that I find this kind of thing interesting. Maybe @Skyline Drifter knows a bit more.
  10. Is an electronic copy of the teamsheet sent to the SPFL or do they just get a paper copy? Presumably they load the details onto their own system?
  11. They are by far the strongest team, but with van Aert in particular they ride more aggressively. Up to the other teams to make themselves stronger. Ineos and UAE, I'm looking at you. Ineos have an issue in that their best GC rider (G) is at the end of his career and the likes of Martinez and Yates don't seem good enough. Will a fit and rehabilitated Bernal be able to seriously challenge JV? Maybe, with the right team around him.
  12. He is indeed. As well as the obvious talent, he never hides. As the Eurosport team said, he's like having three riders.
  13. Roger Allam is a brilliant actor. Perfect for the part.
  14. Is that not the Ladies Wimbledon champ?
  15. Indeed. Back in thirty. Hard to beat that.
  16. Cameron Smith has been sensational today. Nerves of steel, confident in his swing and a top putter.
  17. Not sure if you are serious, but I couldn't give a f**k about whether they are good, wankjobs, dull or whatever (*). They are all great players and IMO that's all that matters. (*) Obviously this wouldn't apply to Mickelson. He's the wankjob's wankjob.
  18. I'll say "it's the greatest course in the world".
  19. Really enjoyed that today. Top six looking tasty for the weekend. Nothing quite like an Open at St. Andrews.
  20. Personally I think Kevin Cawley could still do a job for us in that role. Been surprised for the last few years that no manager has tried that at times when we've needed something different 8n attack.
  21. I was the same! Tremendous reception for him. Nothing less than you'd expect from an Open crowd of course.
  22. Isn't it just. Tremendous performance from him. Great effort from Froome too.
