  1. Indeed and Grant's late appointment was because Goodwin left in pre-season for St Mirren, having already re-signed nearly a full squad.
  2. Do you think giving an example of a decision which was upheld by a disciplinary panel is a good one to illustrate a refs previous "bizarre" decisions?
  3. I think that's the most likely reason, serious foul play. ETA having re-read Leo.....'s post about the ref saying it was violent conduct and the reason he, apparently, gave, I think that seems a better explanation. If Parry was going for the ball it could be serious foul play, but if he isn't then that would make it violent conduct. I think it's a decision which could have gone either way and Parry might get it downgraded to yellow if we appeal. Perfectly possible that it won't be. Whatever, it's our own fault again, Taggs pissing about instead of just clearing the ball when under pressure and Parry putting in a silly challenge.
  4. He's fine. Just gets a bit emotional at times.
  5. Wonderful win and first monument for Kasper Asgreen in De Ronde, outlasting MvdP in the sprint after those two has dropped WvA. Brutal last 100k, as per.
  6. Yeah, although we struggled for goals before Cameron signed, overall we have scored enough goals (eight more than both Arbroath & Morton, plus only one less than Ayr and ICT) and our poor defensive record ( twenty-three more goals conceded than Arbroath!) is what has ultimately done for us. Not that we are down yet! No one factor for this, but clearly Graham and Parry didn't reach their usual high standards, Jamieson wasn't up to the mark (although I think he could do well for us in league one) necessitating Taggs not playing right back and the defensive cover from midfield was poor at times. Certainly the manager has to shoulder a lot of the blame for not effectively addressing these issues. Must admit I'm not sure about Andy as manager. Seems too decent a bloke. Maybe Andy and Buchs as a dream team? We still have the nucleus of a very good league one team/squad. Three or four of the right quality signings and we'll be competitive at the right end of the table IMO. That's six of the last eight seasons we have been in the Championship - great times to be an Alloa fan and no real reasons to be negative.
  7. If he's bringing in Trouts then Connolly was the obvious one to drop. Not that I think he should have been dropped - generally we've looked more dangerous with him in attack IMO.
  8. I thought Dom was about 70 when he played for us.

    Top 5 Gigs

She refused to do an encore when I saw them, despite the crowd shouting for one. Took the huff about something.
  10. Thanks goodness you don't make our laws then.

    Top 5 Gigs

Status Quo - Glasgow Apollo1980 ish (up in the rafters, place literally started bouncing from the first note and didn't stop until the end) Siouxsie & the Banshees (pre-split line up, think that was the tour Morris and McKay were booted out during) - Stirling Uni 1979 Talking Heads - Edinburgh Odeon or Playhouse 1979 (Fear of Music tour IIRC) Jethro Tull - Usher Hall 1978 (my first proper gig and my favourite band at the time) The Tubes with Squeeze supporting - Hammersmith Odeon 1979 (was down for the England v Scotland game with a mate and picked up tickets by chance)
  12. Careless Memories Planet Earth Rio Girls on Film Ordinary World
  13. 1 - Bob Dylan 2 - er 3 - that's it.
  14. Leaving McGregor on the bench and starting Hanley.
  15. The Chisellers How I Wrote Elastic Man Feeling Numb Behind the Counter Hip Priest
  16. Really good start to the series IMO. Several question marks raised and a good foundation started. Kelly McDonald made a solid start as well and obviously she has big boots to fill following Lonnie James, Keeley Hawes etc al.
