  1. Once Steve Fulton got up to speed, usually by the end of September, he was an excellent player for Kilmarnock. His father was an excellent junior who unfortunately from my perspective scored the winner against Arthurlie in the 1981 Scottish Junior Cup Final at Hampden.
  2. I always liked The Specials and managed to see them on their 2009 tour in Glasgow. Great band live and brilliant vocals from Terry Hall
  3. I was there and missed both goals. My lasting memory was a 50-60 yard cross field pass from Dalglish to some Liverpool player. Killie then knocked St Mirren out of the Scottish Cup the next month at Love Street, which was great as I went to school in Paisley at the time.
  4. That must be about 8th or 9th time I've seen them. Britfloyd are also very good but they don't play Scotland too often from what I've seen.
  5. I was there last Friday night and they were superb again. I'll be going along again next November. Sadly there were 3 pissheads in front of me who won't remember a thing about it. I don't get why you spend money on something you won't remember the next day.
  6. I agree with your comments on McStay - he had potential and never fully realised it. I believe Ferguson was a far superior player.
  7. Saw First Aid Kit last night at the O2 and thought they were superb. First time I have seen them and was not disappointed. Great vocals, harmonies and backing band. I don't particularly like the O2 but it was a superb venue for them. Going to see The Proclaimers there tomorrow night and Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott at The Hydro on Friday and looking forward to both.
  8. TBH I was standing in line with the 18 yard line where Arthurlie scored from when the sending off occurred and didn't get the best of views but from where I was it looked like his foot had gone in on the Arthurlie player. I moved back round to the other end just after Beith equalised so saw the foul I referred to clearly.
  9. He was the difference between the 2 teams on Saturday. Need to get as many points as possible when he is still at Arthurlie as he'll be impossible to replace at this level.
  10. I agree with this, however some of the mistakes they make are horrendous and they don't help themselves. Like the one near the end of the game on Saturday when the referee (who I thought had an okay game apart from far too many bookings) blew for a free kick to Beith instead of letting the game play on, as there was a Beith forward with the ball in the box about 12 yards out from goal with a clear shot at goal. He actually apologised to the Beith players, which is big of him but effectively cost them the chance to equalise.
  11. That looks great. We tried to go in July 2017 but both our days were cancelled because the sea was too rough to land, which was so disappointing. Haven't managed to fit it in again but would like to
  12. His leaving will be a big loss for Arthurlie. Very good player.
  13. I used to stand in the Johnnie Walker terracing when I first went to Rugby Park. God knows why now as you were miles from seeing the action at the other end.
  14. Wish it had been only 4 years - maybe 8-10 years ago. Dallas lied about Kenny Shiels 9/10 seasons ago when he accused him of foul language, which Kilmarnock/Shiels proved was not the case as there was a camera filming behind the dug outs that Dallas never knew about. https://www.pressreader.com/uk/scottish-daily-mail/20121215/283519383198682 Clancy has been on the international list of FIFA referees since January 2012.
  15. First time i've missed him in years due to family commitments. Good to hear it was a good gig.
  16. IMO There is no chance of Arthurlie getting a licence while still at Dunterlie. IS there any further talk of moving elsewhere in the town?
  17. Club: Hearts 0 - 2 Kilmarnock - to win the League in 1965 I was only 3 at the time. If not that game the game earlier in that season when we came back from 4 goals down to beat Eintracht Frankfurt 5-4 on aggregate in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. (I think Tommy McLean made his debut for us that night). Country: 1967 victory over England at Wembley. Failing that either game against France for the 2008 World Cup (I Couldn't get tickets) Other: Partizan Belgrade v Kilmarnock in the Europa League would have been my choice as this was to be my first away match in Europe watching Killie. My father and brother were there, and sadly I don't think we will get another chance to see us play away from home in Europe. Other match would have the World Cup Semi-Final between France and Germany in 1982. Either that or the Italy v Brazil game in the same tournament.
  18. I was at both but beating Celtic in 2012 was a far greater experience than winning the Tennent Caledonian Trophy (TCT) IMO. While the circumstances of winning the TCT were hilarious it doesn't beat seeing popcorn's face at the end of the game, then listening to him moaning again. However the actual winning of the League Cup was the best experience in my lifetime of watching Killie, simply because to the level of the opposition, and was IMO something that old firm fans could possibly experience if they were to win a European trophy. They will disagree though, which they are perfectly entitled to do, with them being entitled people.
  19. That's really disappointing if true, however Arthurlie and the player need to look at themselves, especially the player. I can't understand why determining the issue of imminent suspensions are not covered properly as part of the signing-on process for new players.
  20. Thank God it stopped them then or it would have been 8. This subject is the biggest load of crap that's ever talked about with regards to Scottish football. I genuinely don't think we get any advantage from it and I always think these pitches favour the better football teams.
  21. Until relegation a couple of years ago I would easily go to more than half of our away games, but i'm now at the stage where I am now most likely to only attend the likes of St Mirren (a local game for me), Motherwell, Livingston and probably Hearts as my brother stays very close to Tynecastle, due to the prices charged by the clubs plus travel costs - You are talking of over £50 before buying any food or drinks. I'll probably head along and watch Arthurlie if they are at home when Killie are playing away from home. For Ross County to charge £28 is unbelievable - how can they justify that? I also think Kilmarnock are totally wrong charging the 2 cheeks as well as walk up Killie fans £30 - if I didn't have a season ticket I wouldn't be anywhere near it. I'm on a works pension but too young to qualify for state pension/concession prices so I can't justify paying the full prices being charged by the majority of the clubs.
