Don't agree tbh. No need to change a winning team and I'd argue in games like these it's even more important to have someone in control from the sidelines.

I'm no fan of McMaster and at their current stages of their careers McCabe's experience and ability is more needed on the pitch, especially with another young player in Devenny also in midfield. I will however gladly eat humble pie if he has a stormer.

Both sides have selection headaches of the good variety,  for Airdrie does McMaster and Devenney start in midfield played well last 3_games,  that's the same midfield though that got schooled in the last game at the recs...... For Allo a who does Taggs probably pound for pound the best defender in the league,   cover right or eft back. Callum Smith makes us tick,  McGill is scoring For fun, but the rest of his game has flaws..... Will Donnelly and McIver tear us apart again....

Looks like a very good game,  hopefully the managers don't over think it formation wise

I'm convinced McMaster won't start. McCabe simply has to play as his experience is vital and it would be a cop out if he didn't play himself in our biggest game of the season.

Looking at Alloa's home record, I think we'll need to be at our best to get 3 points from this one. As good as our last performances have been, it's important to remember the teams we were playing were 8th, 9th and 10th in the league.

I'd like to see Stanway come in for McMaster and ATS come back into defence if he's available. Stanway made a decent impact against Clyde and I think he deserves a start, always looked lively when coming on.

I think it's a bigger game for Airdrie than Alloa, I'd like us to try and secure the play offs and not have to rely on getting something at the running track (that gives me the absolute fear).

Alloa have done really well this season, mental reading some of the comments earlier on in the season with some fans calling for Brian Rice to go, he's done a pretty good job so far.

I would prefer Stanway for McMaster all day long but it being such a big game I can't see Rhys leaving himself out.

  4. If anyone had only seen Airdrie's to home games against Alloa this season then you'd be certified if you thought Alloa could get anything out of this game, alas the games at the Indodrill have been completely different and probably sum up our strange season.

Whilst a defeat wouldn't end our season, it would make it very difficult and perhaps a draw wouldn't disappoint either side.

For me, Josh Rae in goals makes a huge difference to the side and had he been fit for most of the season I believe we would be pushing Dunfermline.

I believe that we will offer enough of a goal threat on Saturday to win this quite comfortably despite being away from home. If we can nullify the arial threat from Alloa at set pieces then we should be fairly comfortable and this begs the question as to whether ATS will regain his position.

Could be ATS in and McMaster making way for Rhys.

I have zero idea why Airdrie are a shoe in on a par with Falkirk (who are 7 points ahead of them) but Alloa are apparently "not" shoe ins despite being 2 points ahead of Airdrie with both having 6 to play?

Nor am I clear which 3 teams are competing for that final spot in your opinion either? Presumably Alloa and Edinburgh are two. Is the other us or Montrose, split by 1 point with them having a game in hand which is against Falkirk. Either both should be in the mix or both aren't depending on whether you think we are too far back.

For my money, Dunfermline are certain champions. Falkirk are certain playoff qualifiers. Nobody else is certain of anything yet. Even if ourselves and Montrose are too far back Edinburgh certainly aren't. A lot of head to heads will be crucial. As will be the attitudes of Falkirk and Dunfermline to end of season meaningless games when League / playoffs are clinched. We need to win 5 of 6 to have any chance and may even need all 6. We've likely left finding our form too late.

Edinburgh seem to have the most favourable run in and have Airdrie at home last game of season which looks as if it could be tasty.

Alloa v Airdrie this coming weekend is a must not lose game for the diamonds although a win allied to our goal difference would be massive for us. (pretty sure either Airdrie or Alloa will be in the top 4) Montrose will need to beat Edinburgh or that will be that for them but if they do then that would bring QOS right back into it assuming they pick up the expected 3 points at home to Peterhead.

Yes still all to play for but a few clubs dining in the last chance saloon.

If Kurt is Roberts is the answer, I would like to know the question.    A journeyman lower league player 1 goal in 24 games,  we had him before and he never cut it,  If the ambition of the club would be to re sign dross like that, we will be stuck in this league a lot longer.....

He played well last night without really doing anything , he did get the better of 18 year old McMaster who hasn't even had 10 career starts...  Can see McCabe slotting back into Midfield for the Allo a game with ATS back on defence, or that's what should happen...

Concur, got to play our best player's and McCabe should be in the starting 11.

I was in speaking to the guy last week and he said it’s really difficult. Only 2 manufacturers are now interested in coming with Bespoke kits.

I thought Umbro’s stuff had been really good and they’ve just over thought this year’s home kit. But embroidered badges rather than screen printed and really like the first 2 home shirts.

Hopefully whoever it is does a good job next year and we do something to manage the centenary of the cup win. I’ve heard a rumour we will 👍🏻♦️

Surely we'll get the strip right this year as it could provide more than the normal revenue given the significance. Perhaps the club should put out "potential" designs for fan review.

Does anyone else agree that we must be doing something right on the training ground. I look at the performances of some players at the start of the season and compare them with current performances and the improvement is dramatic.

Yeh, probably something our management don't get a lot of credit for.

I see their roles as 50% on recruitment, 40% on coaching and 10% on match days as you very limited on what you can do when players cross the white line as the work has been done prior to.

They're learning on the job and I'm sure they'll admit mistakes have been made but well worth sticking with, even if Clyde beat us on Saturday!

    Friday even!

And I will be blunt,  if we have any ambition of getting to the playoffs and going deep if we get there,   Byrd should be know here near an Airdrie side,  he is unplayable IMO,  ,  no doubt people will say what's the point in him being there and I would agree wholeheartedly...

Whilst you may ultimately be correct and I also have doubts over Byrd, we can't go writing young players off after 1 game.

I think he’s been linked with Dundee and trained with Premiership clubs, so suspect he’s out of our reach unfortunately. He was very young when he was here before but fair play to him, I certainly didn’t see this coming.

On the subject of League Two players, Matty Yates at Stenhousemuir is someone I’d be keen to see us go for. I think he has double figures for goals and assists and looks very handy in the highlights I’ve seen. Can play through the middle, out wide or attacking midfield and I think he’d suit our style of play.

It's difficult at the moment to identify players for next season not knowing what league you are going to be in.

Well I've not given up yet!

Looking at the highlights ATS had a marvellous step over at one of the goals and he'll be missed at the back .

I'd also be tempted to play McCabe there and Byrd is not my first choice. Leave the full backs as in last two games where they made a huge contribution to the attacking three forwards.

It was good to have Rhys on the bench and he still needs game time for fitness.

Hard decision but that's his job.

Unless injuries dictate then it looks like there will be only one change to the starting 11 and probably McCabe is the safest option. Our last visit to Clyde was a poor one even though we scraped a win so hoping for a better performance to set up a huge match at Alloa the following week where the team selection could be an even harder decision.
