  1. How long until Operation YMCA replaces Operation Wandering Soul in CIA psyops terms then with the big breakthrough in Zaporizhzhia and the Ukrainian version of Sherman's March to the Sea finally being achieved by blasting the Sorovikin line with Russian language versions of old Village People tunes 24/7.
  2. Whoever does the Accies Twitter isn't the sharpest tool in the box: Berwick Rangers play in Tweedmouth which is definitely very much in England given it's south of the Tweed.
  3. The Ballad of Buster Scruggs just provided me with the least expected Orange content from an American TV show or movie since one of the two main characters on Alias Smith & Jones, I forget which it's been a while, revealed he was an Orangeman from Londonderry. Now back to your usual programming...
  4. If there was a UK national team and league, Rangers would probably be the main vehicle for Scottish national sentiment in football like Barcelona are in Catalonia where Catalan identity is concerned. History unfolded very differently obviously with a different them and us dynamic coming to the fore.
  5. Doubt it. His Inter Miami team won a trophy called the Leagues Cup last night.
  6. Maybe worth bearing in mind that there was a time when other clubs like Petershill or Cambuslang Rangers would have been described that way and Auchinleck Talbot weren't doing that well in junior grade terms. Will be interesting to see if this is just a temporary dip in form or the end of an era and a changing of the guard. Talbot's long dominance was arguably about people in that part of Ayrshire still being interested in competitions that had grown a bit stale elsewhere. The possibility of progression was always likely to attract in new money and kickstart interest again in clubs like Johnstone Burgh that were in a bit of a rut previously.
  7. Interesting to see Carnoustie Panmure lose another one. That's bad news for Strathspey Thistle.
  8. Good to see you have figured out how to embed tweets using a cellphone. Did McCauley not play there pre-season as well for a bit? Think Rutherford and Ward maybe did as well. The idea that players like that can cover for centre half when necessary would explain the lack of further signings in that regard, so maybe this cup game is being used to double check that's sensible?
  9. If Beith and Hurlford have already started the licensing process with the SFA (and I think it has been confirmed that Beith have for sure) I don't think there is a problem. All that has been blocked is accepting new applications AFAIA and from what was said I think that will open up again soon.
  10. The Wombles have entered the fray apparently: Hopefully whoever this really refers to are not unbelievably disorganised amateurs.
  11. Why do they still have a club licence and SFA membership if they can't play a home game in Fort William given they had to play an entire season away from home in the Highland League not so long ago?
  12. Very big news if true: but it appears to be the serially wildly inaccurate Chuck Pfarrer who is talking it up:
  13. Guess the EoS angle to all the Edinburgh City stuff on this thread is Leith Athletic also playing there? it was obvious from the design of the new Meadownank "stadium" that Edinburgh City were being given a very heavy hint that their presence was not wanted. Think they missed an opportunity for a ground that might have worked out better for them when Tynecastle got the lease for Meggetland. Spartans, Edinburgh City and Bonnyrigg Rose is likely one too many part-time Edinburgh area teams for the SPFL long term and it looks like Tranent are intent on crashing the party. Wouldn't be surprised if Edinburgh City are in the EoS again in about a decade's time.
  14. His father was an underworld hitman and is alleged by some to have been no stranger to grassy knolls.
  15. What's happening on the currency markets may turn out to be as important as events on the battlefield:
  16. The Black and White Minstrel Show had to be seen to be believed and there was no twist involved to make the racists the butt of the joke. A point Jim Davidson makes is that the BBC were broadcasting stuff like that and were actively encouraging him to do his Chalky White routine back then and now want to treat him as a pariah over it rather than highlighting their own past misdeeds.
  17. ...and Broughty, North End and Carnoustie Panmure are supposed to be going for a licence as well, although that won't necessarily happen this season.
  18. If the Germans send these missiles the Ukrainians will probably be able to take out the Kerch railway bridge: Tweet is from a pro-Russian poster hence the dodgy set of borders shown in the graphic but at the same time it shows why this would be significant if it happens. The range would provide what the Americans have been unwilling to send where ATACMS is concerned. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taurus_KEPD_350
  19. ...for the red-green colour blind. Guess the Clyde merger wasn't the only time Accies briefly went out of business then.
  20. Guess what's happening right now is about stopping the fighting ever reaching the south coast of Crimea. The Russians need to defend various Viewpark lookalikes on Vlad's Crimean land bridge to be able to keep Yalta:
  21. Maybe the trialists made a difference compared to the previous games? Early days to be writing them off as dead certs to finish last when Edinburgh Uni finished with so few points last season.
