  1. Correct me if i am wrong, but didnt massone come in and buy the club for 1£ when it was already insolvent. That was what, 18 months ago. The fans, the trust and etc have known about this for a long time. Have they done anyhting, other than over the last couple of weeks, to help the club. I may seem hard and synical, but they do not deserve any sympathy as they could have done a lot more, much earlier than just sit back and expect someone to do it all for them. Livingston FC should not be allowed to survive. NOW WHICH CLUB IS NEXT. RANGERS OR CELTIC WHO ARE OVER £100 milluion in debt between them
  2. A very good interview with John McGlyn on the website just gone up. He gives his reasons regarding what hes doing with the youngsters. I think we should accept and appreciate his judgement.
  3. I di think the poster was being sarcastic with his post.
  4. Some one has suggested on fantalk its more likely to be Johnny Russel or Andreas Sahala
  5. Quote On the morning of that game I was getting texts, telling me to put as much money as I could afford on a Queens win. Remember we were pretty long odds on for this away game, however, the talk of the town before it was that we would definitely win this match. Unquote That could be interpreted as the match was fixed. I think you may wish to end this particular part of the thread.
  6. No it doesnt. It says they are both owed over half a million, not each owed that amount. A good play on words that will deceive many peoploe.
  7. Just read the post ref the meeting. Quote There has been talk on these forums of fans spending money on club merchandise and season tickets. We must stress that this should not be acted on at this point in time, as the money will not go to the club in the right way, i.e. it will still end up with Mr Massone Unquote Firstly this is incorrect. The only person who has access to any monies now is the administrator. This includes any kit sales etc. What we are reading here is simply too little too late. What is needed is one huge fundraising event something on the lines that can involve everyone in the livingston and surrounding area. There is sufficient space around the ground to organise a mammoth bring ab buy sale. Door to door collections of unwanted items given to the club supporters who in turn sell what evers given on the chosen day. you could easily raise many 10s of thousands if it was done properly. And as its near to the almondvale centre i have no doubt many business from there would help as it could bring in many many people on the day. The only way, with this reported amount of debt, your going to save your club is in fundraising by thinking big. Anything less and its finished for you. One final point. The statement says massone has lied and the debt to hmrc is larger than he says at £190k yet they say in the next breath the total owed is £500k to wlc and hmrc which if my matchs is correct shows the debt to hmrc about what massone said. Personally for the fans of livi i would like to see the club carry on, but with all the contradictions and way of thinking i just dont think they should be saved. Yes i know a contradiction in itself.
  8. No wonder you cant read livi lions forum. I doubt there is anyway back from this. £1.7 million is a bucket load and a half.
  9. I dont think you have to register on livi lions because the server has crashed. I run V Bulletin boards on my auction sites and there is no way would anything less than a couple of thousand visitors even remotely effect the running of the site. The probability is there hosting company server and the other sites using it are creating an overload. But more to the point is there is no need to ask people to register just to view whats posted unless there are things that need to be kept out of the public eye. The more likely case here is whoever is running the livi lions board doesnt have a clue what there doing. And i dont mean this sarcastically or detrementally either.
  10. I am surprised no one has mentioned this, BUT. For a club without money, where is the administrator getting the £25k to pay Massone off. The more i read about this in the press and etc, the more i am convinced a deal has been struck, even before the admins were called in and that the whole thing is yet another political sham.
  11. And too many Robos on fantalk. Why do you follow the Rovers when they are as bad as you say. Surely C/Beath or EF would be more to your liking. Everyone keeps talking about Kevin Smith. He scored 18 goals in Div.2 Can anyone say he will score that many goals in Div.1 No you cant. The trouble with many rovers fans is they are pretty poor losers who cannot accept we will lose games and many are also too involved in following there favourites or knocking there disliked players to look at the overall picture. And no we are not as weak or weaker than last year, apart from the striker situation which will be partially, and i repeat partially resolved when the His loan striker joins us.
  12. According to the scotsman, they are finished. So lets all wait and see.
  13. No, hes a small business who is owed nearly a 5 figure sum by Livingston. I wouldnt be anywhere near so soft if i was in his shoes.
  14. I see the news was released on the 23rd july. Very interesting is the timing with this. I am begining to think a deal has been struck with the council beforehand and that a Mcdougal/trust takeover is close. Add to this interested parties supposedly contacting the administrator within 3 hours of the appointment, then his statement, which i see as a challenge to the SFL, and i start to get some what suspicous. Mcdougal is a football man, and i just cant see him leaving DAFC board unless he is pretty certain he has somewhere to go. Naw, this jigsaw puzzle fits too darned easily for my liking. I bet now Livi get off without any penalty.
  15. Scary Bear said quote I think the SFL should demand that Livingston sacrifice a virgin fan to appease the footballing gods. Unquote You perhaps Scary
  16. In the light of these events. surely now is the time for all scottish leagues inc the SPL to completely overhaul the rules to give hard and fast rules regarding this. What i find more disturbing with Livvi is it is the second time in just 5 short years. I just wonder exactly how many decent and honest businesses have and will suffer again because of them.
  17. Well, we shall see who the gaffer prefers today. I would like to see a midfield of Williamson, Smith, Walker and Simmons.
  18. Hey Andy thanks, but rest assured i did not take any offence to your remark. Tell you what though. I will take offence if Livvi get away with this. Even to the extent of trying to organise away fans boycots of Almondvale. I will never forget what this club did to mine when we were hours away from extinction. They deserve all they get.
  19. No it is not blackmail it is a challenge to relax the rules, or the interpretion of them, to give a football club who have now entered into administration for the second time in 5 years a chance to survive. PP is correct, anything other than strict penalties would give the green light for other clubs to follow suit. I think theres an even bigger issue building here, that of the integrity of scottish football. The SFL must stand firm here and do what is correct, or reinstate Gretna, Meadowbank thistle, Clyde and all the recent clubs who have gone to the wall. They simply cannot let Livvi get away with anything.
  20. Yoss, this administrator has a job to do, and hes doing a pretty good one so far by straight away making a public statement that livvi have no money and no income but could be saved if the SFL were to possibly waive the penalties and allow one fixture change so that interested investors wouldnt be put off. What the guy has done , publically, is to challenge the SFL to put up or allow livvi to go bankcrupt. They are now in a totally impossible position and are dammed either way. He states, after only 3 hours that he has had phone calls from interested parties who would back away if penalties were imposed. This guy is handcuffing the SFL knowing either way they will be gunned down. I hope the Blazers and SFL have enough guts and strength to say enough is enough. Impose penalties, relegate Livvi and refuse to swap a fixture. If they dont, they should all resign and let in someone who has the strength to do what is correct and not politically expedient.
  21. This particular case is different. Livi are insolvent. They are bankrupt. The sfl will be asked to bring forward or swap a fixture to a home game to generate money for livi. If they did this it would be preferential treatment. Treatment that i am not aware was offered to any other club in this position. The same applies to penalties. reading into the administrators interview, i think he expects penalties. But he is still going to ask for non to be given. If the SFL do either, then they have to do the same for every club in this position in the future.
  22. Two Questions here. Have the SFL ever brought a home game forward to help a financially embarrased club. Have the SFL, under current regulations, or previous regulations made a decision that does not fully comply with those regulations. It appears to me this administrator may ask them too. I fear they may.
