  1. According to there website, Marco Pelosi is still a player for Perth.sc.
  2. I was getting concerned when Marv did not give us his decision when he said he would. At the end of june at the latest. It was mentioned in the paper that Marco was training with us, but i believe that was not for long. I havent heard anything about Grant Murray. I wonder how many, if any, potential replacements we have turned away waiting for Marv.???
  3. Lets change the subject a bit. Its alledged Marvin Andrews is in talk with Hamilton Accies.
  4. The one scenario you have not mentioned Dunc. He may hang up his boots, and of that there is a distinct possibility.
  5. Neither of us know as we are both assuming, you all will be alright on the night, and me that all will not be right on the night. The point i was making is can we afford to risk losing at the first leg of a potential good extra income for the club.
  6. Our first competitive match against Stirling is 3 weeks away. All be it a diddy cup, its a money spinner, especially if we get a home draw or two, but we have to win to progress. Stirling wont be any pushover so we need a full squad ready for this. We all agree it's about money, but yet again, as in the past 2 seasons, when an opportunity arises for the club to earn a little extra, and much needed, money, we simply are'nt ready.
  7. Take out the ex juniors and we have precisely 12 players, 13 if Marv re signs. I am all for operating within our means, but there is such a thing as being too cautious.
  8. Quote.. We have put together what we believe to be a workable Business Plan and have also taken part in detailed discussions with Gordon McDougall, who has expressed a genuine interest in investing in the Club. Like us, Mr McDougall believes strongly in the principles of a sustainable, community-orientated football club situated in the heart of West Lothian. ..Unquote Community-orientated football club. The usual speel from those wanting to gain control. That very wording is a doubler from the start. Club means "An association for common cause" That can only apply if all details are readily available to anyone from the community who wishes to be part of the club and to contribute to its future. Duncan Freemason is correct. Pay your bills, wipe the slate clean and take it from there.
  9. Quote There is 138 pages on this forum, and god knows how many on Livi Lions. One thing shows clearly from both. is there a plan of action to save the club. Where is the plan of action to save the club. What groups are working seriously to save livi. I cant see any plan, only name calling and etc. Should this club really be saved??? From what I remember from LiviLions, its underwraps incase its used by other parties other than the Trust to save the club. It was shown if you went allong to a pub in Livi on a couple of Monday nights in May. Apparently, unless you are on the Trust committe, it's unlikely you'll be any the wiser. At least that's my interpretation of the thread. Unquote So in other words the club is run by a fantasist and a secret society wants to take it over. Far better it goes to the wall and a new team starts from scratch with the right people at the helm. I really do feel very sorry for the Livi fans, but unless you start to publically announce plans to reclaim your club you almost certainly wont have one.

  11. Take our average home gate last season of 1600 multiply that by the increase of £2 and theres 8 times £3200 to start. Add to that the big increase in away support compared to last season, which was less than 250 on average excluding East Fife and theres a fair bit more in the pot. I would like to think our home gate average this season will be around 2500. 900 times 18 times 16 makes around an extra £130k and take off extra costs, were still looking at about a net £70k. Theres just too much being asked of our ex juniors, so we need 4 more players, not just 2. And i would add if we did, with those extra 4, play well then extra fans would come and increase the income. AB excluding joe dunbar we have the grand total of 13 senior players as of today 12 if Marv doesnt resign, plus 7 juniors added to the first team squad. I dont think i am over concerned at all. Its a real worry if we wish to remain in Div.1.
  12. Theres a difference between financial constraints and shutting the bank. I cant think of a team in this division that wont bring a decent support to games. I just fail to see why we are so light on proven players. And this nonsense with Marvin Andrews is pathetic. We should give him a time limit, say another 3 days, and if he doesnt sign by then, let him go. Theres a proven spl goal scorer looking for part time football, yet we are told its probably a loan striker we will go for. Hello division 2 in 2010/2011
  13. Southampton could be gone by Friday, so what hope Livingstone now.
  14. I wasnt refering to Livi when i mentioned Setanta, but to all clubs in the SPL. There is no paranoia in my post at all. Its all fact and until or if the spl get a new tv deal, they are in trouble. 2 1st div clubs hit the skids last season, clyde and livi. They will not be the last and i suspect there could be more this season.
  15. The sad thing about all this is most spl and first division and some smaller clubs are basically in a similar position to livi. They are by and large heavily in debt and if called upon to clear those debts, they could not do so without selling there best players or other assets. Setanta is gone and theres no way will the spl get a deal elsewhere as good as, if at all. Costs are up and income is down so dont think Livi are on there own. More clubs during this season will hit the brakes, some may even crash. Maybe even your club??? This situation will get increasingly worse over the coming months and years unless the SFA and SFL get there stupid heads together and radically change Scottish footbal and its format.
  16. I may have this wrong, but my understanding is the club would have to call in the administrators. Any debtor would have to file a bankcruptcy petition through the courts. I suspect if the latter is to happen it would take a couple more days to be formulated and made public. Livi will not do the first, so its the second option i suspect.
