  1. Correct enigma, we will give most teams a good game. If the manager gets his desired type of striker in soon then we will beat many and give some a good humping. Maybe, just maybe there WILL be a trialist up front tomorrow.
  2. They brought there first team squad last year and only managed a 0 - 0 draw and could easily have lost to us too. Think it will be a tad different this time round though. But i am sure we will give them a good game.
  3. The manager admitted that he was following a couple of striker options in an interview, but if its the same Director that told me we were signing Pat Clarke then be wary.
  4. Yep hes 19. Both have signed 1 year full terms in May so i guess they will figure very much throughout the season.
  5. Both Bryce and graham will be on the bench and park as subs more than we all think this season. Its the golden opportunity for both of them to shine. I hope they do.
  6. You have left out Tam Graham who I personally think is overall a better striker than Lee Bryce. Not as quick mind you but can hold on to the ball better and use it better.
  7. Just want to congratulate Lawrie Ellis on his 200 appearance for the club last tuesday. A nice interview on the clubs website gives a clear insight into Lawrie and his passion for the rovers. The signings now confirmed too. Now just another striker and we should be there and raring to go.
  8. Theres a report on fantalk that we signed dougie hill on part time and Grant Murray on full time status today. Paper say the club was talking to them, but cant find any confirmation of them signing. If its true then good for us.
  9. Yes, without another striker we are and yes on only two games, but there was sufficient to see we definately are not duffers.
  10. On last nights showing i dont think we will be every other teams whipping boys. In fact, and providing Tade starts to find the net, or we get another striker in, i think we are capable of humping a few teams in division 1. A good and entertaining game to watch and a very promising start to our season so far.
  11. Quite looking forward to this evenings friendly against Norwich City. A decent crowd, a decent game and a good indicator as to how we will fair against very good opposition and i will be well satisfied, no matter the result. But a win would be nice.
  12. I think we all saw sufficient today to suggest we will trouble and surprise most teams in this division.
  13. I have been following this thread and would like to ask one question. I see Stranrae are running a gala day to help save their club. The club and fans are doing something positive. Apart from a bucket collection, just what have the Livi fans done to help save there club, apart from argue and divide. My question is, "Does Livingstone deserve a football club at all??"
  14. Just listened to the interview with J.McG on the clubs website. Pretty much the same as before, but with a distinct hint of maybe more than just 2 more signings.
  15. Rumour, emphasise rumour, has it grant Murray is the prefered option.
  16. Question Question time: Was Mark Ferry signed on a two year deal? I really hope if he's our left winger this season, that he learns to run. Yes i think he was.
  17. The first friendly is tomorrow. The first league game is in 4 weeks. During the interim period we have 4 other friendlies and 2 cup ties. The latter are competitive matches, which we need to win to progress and to help bolster the clubs finances, even if it was just a £1000 a game. People seem to have forgotten or are ignoring the fact, the SPL have dumped there reserve league, and they are dumping players too due to the expected drop of nearly £65 million from television rights. I just dont believe there will be that many clubs who will have players available for loans this year. We all have to trust the managers expertise on this, i just hope he doesnt tread on too many banana skins on his chosen path.
  18. I dont think anyone is panicking, yet, showing some concern, yes. Most teams appear to have pretty much put there squad together, but we are missing three essential elements. A solid center back (Probably taken care of) and two out and out strikers. I realise we will have to probably go down the loan road, which i am not too happy about. I see loan deals as quick fixes. Ok none of us know how The three present forwards will fair or how the two new signings will contribute, either with goals or assists. At this time, i feel we will send out a platoon on match days armed with pea shooters instead of guns. But as you all say, time and a little patience may well tell, but time is running out.
  19. I dont think we are as badly off as many think. Did i not read on the clubs website they had re-structured the stadium rental, into a 20 year loan which shows considerable savings. I dont know what last years budget was but it had to be against expected attendances of around 1600. We were well above that according to many. Maybe this years expected attendances are deliberately low hence a small budget. To use this years expected income increase to reduce the overall debt is a good thing, but not at the risk of coming straight back down again. Having said that, i dont think we are as weak as many suggest and may well surprise a few teams in Div.1 Providing that is we get at least one proven goalscorer
  20. Its amazing with some of you guys. How can you pass judgement on a player you have hardly ever, if ever, seen play. Give the guy a chance and pass judgement after you have seen him play in division one.
  21. Over half our squad are tried and tested at this level or higher. No-one can actually say how we will shape up until the season proper actually starts. Granted we arent a team of individual stars, but apart from strikers where we are short, our squad aint that bad and may well surprise a few teams in this league.
  22. Difficult to answer Dunc. Yep he is tall, 6-4 i think. I wont say hes built like a tank, but he certainly aint skinny. Maybe slightly below average build for his height. Hes not too bad either in the air or on the ground, but needs experience at this higher level. One thing about him i did like on the few occasions i saw him play. He does try to pass the ball out of defence when possible, but he certainly isnt afraid to give the ball a huge heave ho if needs be. Like all the juniors, i hope he gets his chance and is helped by his playing partners, ie lawrie, sparky and davo.
  23. What possibilities now with Marv reportedly having been offered terms with Accies. One good left back, allowing Ellis into central defence, and with most of our midfield quite capable of playing in defence were not too bad in that area. I just wonder if this could persuade the manager to go for 2 strikers now instead of one.
  24. I dont think any fan should be writing off any player at this stage. Lets get 2/3 friendlies out the way first then make judgement. The two times i have seen Hill tade and smith they have shown potential. Maybe John McGlynn feels he can bring out that full potential. Like Marv, Grant is coming to the end of his career. Both are coming up to 34, so i would prefer a younger guy who could build his way into the squad on a long term basis rather than possibly offer us just one season. Personally i think Hill and Pelosi have something to offer us. This idea of loan signings for strikers is a concern for me. We need a couple of strikers on the books who are not short term fixes.
