I had no idea we basically went 2 years without an away win. That was at a time when I was travelling to most away matches too. Even factoring in the fact that the time frame includes the Anelka season that is a horrific run of form.
That's some photoshop job of Barry Smith on the back of the FFP this week.
Right up there with the great escape one they did for the game against Ayr last season.
In some international weekend a few years from now Sky will be showing a vital league 1 relegation clash between Oldham and Southend as filler and McTominay will come on as a sub for Oldham. That's probably at least as likely a scenario as him turning in to the next Darren Fletcher.
I say this as one of his biggest critics, but we seem to have been leakier at the back since Smith got dropped, even though Lennox generally looks much more solid than Smith ever did.
Murray's goal against the Pars was a highlight for me.
His managerial record has been covered by others above. His record looks fine in hindsight but we were in a league that effectively had two 'bonus' part-time sides in it with The Rangers and the Pars being in the leagues below at that time. He seemed to be able to attract decent players to the club but then never quite get the best out of them and I reckon he'd have quite probably relegated us if he'd stayed another season.
I also see the parallels between him and Smith and I do worry about how we'll get on next season under Smith if we manage to get promoted.
Regarding Hughes, I think the single most damning thing about his reign was the fact that over 210 minutes of football we couldn't beat a side who now look like going an entire season without a league win.
