  1. Stenson certainly attracting a lot of vitriol from his fellow European Tour pros.
  2. Novak Djokovic unlikely to play US Open with Grand Slam to 'respect' government vaccine rules - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/62248745
  3. Jason Kokrak the third new man for next week.
  4. Charles Howell III seems to be the hot tip to be one of the other new players at Bedminster. Currently 173 on the OWGR another player who isn't giving the ranking points much of a boost if they do play an Asian tour event. Fwiw Stenson is 171st.
  5. Vingegaard attacks late on in the stage, but Pogacar counters and takes the win, but only gains 4 seconds. Geraint Thomas was fourth over 2 minutes down but is now a comfortable 3rd on the GC with a bit of daylight to 4th.
  6. Stenson's comments when asked about the Saudi tour in March.
  7. Stenson adds nothing to LIV in terms of playing quality, nobody (except Swedes maybe) is going to watch it because he is playing. This one is purely done as a GIRFUY to the DP World Tour and the Ryder Cup. Greg will be trumpeting how LIV is more attractive than captaining Europe. We all know it's the cash that's more attractive. A few journos hinting that Stenson knew this was on the cards when he took the captaincy, and did so as he knew it could drive his price up.
  8. Scotland's Louise Duncan is turning pro and her first tourney will be the Scottish Open at Dundonald Links. She will be managed by Bounce who also look after a few of the Scottish guys on Tour.
  9. Yet another pro with "lost" clubs who can tell the airline exactly where they are.

  12. Edinburgh Airport this morning. All those bags are supposed to be on a plane.
  13. You can bet McDowell doesn't understand a word of that.
  14. The ranking points for each tourney are calculated on the strength of field, which is worked out from everyone's world ranking. In theory it sounds good that if all the players were to play in the same Asian tour events then it would bump up the field strength and points on offer. There are two problems though. The players rankings are all dropping week by week, so the field strength won't get the big boost they would hope. Second, they would have to be finishing in the top few spots for them to get any decent points.
  15. Announced their line up for tonight's friendly. Announced the manager had left. Announced the new manager. All within about half an hour. They actually announced that Craig Palmer was the new manager about 13 minutes into the first half if their game. Very strange timing. They've also reworded the statement to say he has left because of "work commitments" rather than "personal reasons".
  16. Not anymore I would suspect.
  17. On the one hand don't really want to see any of the top names going. On the other it would be fucking hilarious if Poulter, Westwood etc ended up with nowhere to play.
  18. The two Opens can't really claim to be "open" if they bump guys just for playing at LIV. It's only a handful of guys who have long term exemptions for some of the majors. It would be incredibly petty imo if they stopped those exemptions, it's not as if the majority will get anywhere near troubling the engraver. Poulter and Westwood put a temporary halt to their slide down the rankings by picking up points at the Open. Others like Garcia, Grace, Oosthuizen all continue to slide.
  19. Worth remembering that Stenson got absolutely rinsed by Allen Stanford's ponzi scheme, rumours were he lost about 8 million. LIV will no doubt be handing it back to him.
