We spent all of 8 minutes of the season at the top of the table, it just happened to be the 8 minutes that mattered most. Our last 20 games were 18 wins and 2 draws, and it shows how consistent Drumchapel Utd were that even that run of form almost wasn't enough to win the league. The whole squad deserves huge credit, but two individuals worth mentioning. Stephen Docherty chased what looked like lost causes all season, the second goal yesterday cam from him doing that, sprinting to close down the Shire keeper, blocked his clearance, then knocked the ball home. 24 league goals for him having started the season as a winger. Ross McCabe, can't say enough about the big man. Played every single minute of the league campaign, and had nerves of steel yesterday to step up and convert the penalty that got us over the line. Thanks to all the teams in Conference C for a terrific season. Not only has it been the most competitive Conference, imo it's been the toughest too. There have been no easy points on offer, even from the teams at the bottom end.
