  1. Both the men and women's teams in good positions after the weekend's games. Team Muirhead now 3-2. Still to play: Canada (1-3) Mon 12.05 pm Japan (3-1) Tues 6.05 am China (2-3) Wed 1.05 am ROC (0-4) Thurs 6.05 am Team Mouat now 4-1 Still to play: Switzerland (3-1) Mon 6.05 am Sweden (5-0) Tues 12.05 pm ROC (3-2) Wed 6.05 am Canada (3-2) Thurs 1.05 am Tough run in, all those other teams make up the top 5 along with GB at the moment.
  2. When my Dad died in 2018 the Coop advised is that if we were active on Facebook etc then not to bother putting it in the paper, and save ourselves the £200+ that it would have cost to put in the Evening Times.
  3. Getting increasingly pissed off with multi millionaire golfers with no grasp on reality bitching about how the tour that made them extremely rich hasn't made them rich enough. Charley Hoffman ($34 million in prize money) the latest to whine about the PGA Tour not doing enough for the players, while obviously weighing up a Saudi offer. If you want to take the money, just take it and be honest about it.
  4. The men's had 3 groups of 4 and the women 2 groups of 5. All the group stage did was sort out who went straight through to the quarter finals and who had to play in the qualification playoff. The Swiss women finished bottom of their but have now managed to get into the semi finals. They are up against Canada though who gubbed them 12-1 in the group stage.
  5. Asda have miraculously reinstated a lot of their smart price ranges that had vanished for a spell.
  6. Good day so far in the curling with the men up against Denmark at lunchtime looking to move to 4-1. Annoyingly the 1 defeat was against the Yanks who have struggled and are toiling to qualify after going 2-3 in their first 5 games.
  7. Good start for Mouat and co as they take a 4 at the second end to lead 4-1.
  8. I shit you not, but my wife's pal was a stewardess on long haul flights for a spell. If a passenger died hours away from any possible landing the instructions were to stick them in a window seat with some towels under their arse, and if possible stick a hat and sunglasses on them.
  9. I only saw the last 25 minutes on the bus home from the Petershill game, but it was very unimpressive stuff from Scotland even before Finn got binned. That whole passage of play stemmed from nobody being alert enough to get the rebounded penalty off the posts. I'm 50/50 on Finn's yellow. He might have caught it if the Welsh player wasn't in the way, but if you go one handed and don't collect it you'll get penalised 99 times out of 100. That aside, we gave away a shedload of avoidable penalties, and repeatedly dropping the ball in the tackle didn't help either. God knows what Biggar was thinking when he kicked the drop goal. Camped on your opponents line with an extra man? Should have been instantly pulled for an HIA. Can't believe the Welsh player wasn't yellow carded. I can't see any contact at all with the arm before the head, and there was zero attempt to wrap his left arm.
  10. Today will tell us if we are capable of having a shot at winning the tourney or if it was another game where we raised our levels because it was England.
  11. Huge game for Team Muirhead coming up at 12.05 against the USA, who have won all their games so far. If they were to lose and go to 1-3 it would make it very difficult for then to qualify.
  12. I was the same, then we get the penalty, kick it into their 22, and breathe a sigh of relief. Then promptly balls up the lineout. [emoji1787]
  13. Wordle 238 4/6 [emoji833][emoji833] [emoji833][emoji833] [emoji833][emoji833]
  14. That's the sort of game Glasgow haven't won enough of in the last few seasons, so I'll gladly take it.
  15. Amazing how he can get a head injury when the officials think he didn't get hit on the head.......
  16. It's shite tbh, not a fan of the artificial conditions they have created. Saw this satellite image the other day.
  17. Exchange of ones for the next few ends, and the Norwegians shake hands after the 8th end with GB 8-3 ahead.
  18. That was my first thought too. An 8pm kick off would be 12 noon on the west coast, can't see that being popular with the American public.
  19. The commentators were blaming the equipment. One of the girls had a really quick start in one of her runs, but even though she had a clean run she had lost loads of time even by halfway down.
  20. Force Norway to take just one at the 6th end, 5-2 lead at halfway.
