Woke up for a pee, stuck the tv on to see how the game was going, watch Geno Smith engineer a 98 yard TD drive. I can only assume I am actually still asleep.

That wasn't stupidly tight though.

Feck knows how much we have wasted on toys and stuff for our cat Missy since we got her when all it really needs is a rolled up Kit Kat wrapper or even a crisp packet mashed into a ball. Sit on a chair, put the wrapper or whatever on your knee and the cat will sit patiently waiting, then flick it and she will be diving about like Lev Yashin.

Started the season at 22.0 with the target to get into the 2nd division. Started off hitting the ball fairly well but just not scoring, then had a 3 week break in May after surgery on a trapped nerve in my forearm. On 29th May I was still 22, but since then it's been a steady improvement, with the best score a gross 84 (13 over) in July. Now down to 16.1. 7 of my last 9 scores count towards my handicap, the 8th score is number 20 on my list which will drop off on Sunday when I play the final book medal of the year. If I can better the adjusted gross 89 that's dropping off I could be under 16 for the end of the year, which would be way better than I hoped. New driver has made a difference, but I've putted really well this year, had a few low handicappers compliment me on the greens. Had a good run of keeping anything worse than a 6 off the card and had very few 3 putts. Plan is to play in one of our winter leagues, and practice on the short game. Still feel there are too many occasions that I'm not getting down in 2 from just a few yards off the green.

Didn't expect Stokes to be playing tbh, but with the opening test only 8 or 9 weeks away then he almost certainly won't be available for the start. Even if he was available, what condition and form is he likely to be in not having played for months?

Aye, he's a bit ott, but I can tune him out tbf although I can understand other folk might not be able to.

It would be a lot easier if employers had to at least pay a minimum period at full pay for sickness, I'm fortunate enough that I get full pay when I am off sick, but my brother is instantly reduced to SSP if he goes off, even a couple of days off is the difference between paying the bills or not for a lot of people.

We didn't with our daughter, started off with what seemed like a head cold last Wednesday night. Did LFTs on Thursday and Friday, both negative. Got worse at the weekend, did another LFT on Sunday which was positive, followed up by a positive PCR. I know other folk who are booking tests at the first sign of a snotter tbf.

I was going to watch a bit, but not now after the ko was delayed due to lightning in the area.

He did some good things last night, moved well in the pocket and ran it pretty well. Some of his throwing was utterly abysmal though, missed some simple ones by miles and seemed to want to try and throw everything like a missile.
