    Harris the only Scot starting against South Africa A on Wednesday, with Fagerson on the bench. Unlike previous tours, this is the last midweek game, there aren't any in the week before the first test or between the first and second as has been the case on some previous tours.

    Lucas Glover hit a closing 64 to win the John Deere by two shots from Ryan Moore and Kevin Na, his first win for 10 years. He now has 4 career wins, just so happens that one of them is a US Open.

    Was playing with a 7 handicapper yesterday who NR'd on the first hole. He said the biggest difference for him was that under the old system he wouldn't have bothered his arse for the rest of the round as he was going up 0.1 regardless of how he did over the other 17 holes. He had a decent round and when they stick him down for a 7 on the first in his adjusted gross it will be a 78, 7 over par and will likely be one of his best 8.

    Yesterday's round has seen my WHS index cut from 18.9 to 17.6. Wee bit of pressure on next week now as my 20th score is one of my counting rounds with an adjusted gross of 88, so I'll have to equal or better that or it could be a short lived stint in division 2.

    I hit an 86 for a nett 66 today, even though I managed to hit a 7 and a 9 on the 15th and 16th. Drove the ball brilliantly apart from those 2 holes, and rolled in some great putts including a monster for birdie on the 10th, then another 20 footer on 11 for another birdie. Should be a big cut as it will replace an NR round with a score differential of 23.

    Russell and Itoje both taken out of today's match squad, Russell's injury can't be too bad as he is staying with the tour squad.

    Westwood has just played a couple of holes in the same way I played 15 and 16 at our monthly medal this morning. He at least managed to salvage a double bogey on both of his.

    Laura Muir ran a new Scottish record for 800m at tonight's Diamond League meet in Monaco, winning in 1.56.73. Jemma Reekie also broke the 1.57 mark in second spot. Muir had been picked to run both the 800m and 1500m in Tokyo, but had just announced the other day she was dropping the 800m.

    Thomas Detry missed out at The Open final qualifying a few weeks back, giving himself a chance of winning a spot here. Ryan Palmer has obviously forgotten he is in my fantasy team, this is the first time he has been on the first page of a leaderboard since I picked him.

    Wasn't even close in the end, he was a full front wheel ahead of second place. Remarkable achievement.
