  1. Superb ride by Carapaz to take gold in the Olympic road race, he broke away with about 30km to go with Brandon McNulty, then broke again on his own just as the bunch were closing in on them. Adam Yates was in the bunch battling for silver and bronze, but was well beaten in the sprint. Van Aert and Pogacar got the places, with the Belgian getting silver by the width of a tyre.
  2. Not just links courses, couple of our fairways are quite brown. Bob bogeyed his last hole (the 9th), after hitting 3 birdies up til then. Looks like missing the cut at the 3M by a single shot.
  3. Tough one for the organisers, on the one hand they won't want to look as if the two teams are dictating things, but on the other the tournament is devalued without two of the best teams in it.
  4. Some cracking groupings in the senior open today at Sunningdale. Two in particular caught my eye.. 1.00 pm Montgomerie, Lawrie and Jiminez 1.10 pm Els, Olazabal and Clarke
  5. The Madison isn't new, but has been off the Olympic rota for a few years. It's absolutely manic to watch as the riders have to pass the baton as it were by grabbing their team mates hand and throwing him into the race.
  6. All 3 Tests now to be played in Cape Town, not having to go to Jo'burg and play at altitude has to be a plus for the Lions.
  7. Great news for Glasgow that Zander Fagerson has signed an extended deal.
  8. The worst thing about the schedule nowadays, it's 264 days until the next major.
  9. Supposedly he fancies Garcia and Poulter as two of the picks.
  10. Apart from all the obvious plus points from a top 10 finish for Bob, he also moved up 3 spots on the Ryder Cup World points list, leaving him just 2 places away from automatically qualifying. Hopefully he can find some form now and keep moving up, but you would hope that if he is just outside, the fact that he keeps performing in the big events and his WGC Matchplay display earlier in the year can get him a captain's pick. He had slipped to 53rd on the OWGR but he is now back up to 48th.
  11. Price has always shown in flashes that he has that sort of potential, but it looks like being (somewhat surprisingly?) picked for this Lions tour has taken his confidence and belief to another level.
  12. Given how accurate he has been up to now and the fact he had to chuck it for breaking the rules, why is Neil Ferguson still a thing?
  13. And gets it back to -5 again. Could be a fascinating afternoon. Louis never really got going in the final round at Kiawah, Morikawa looks steady but putted woefully last week, but somehow seems to have fixed it in s few days. Speith still looks to have one loose shot too many to see it out and looked petrified over a couple of short putts last night. The ones behind will need to hit 64 or 65 to have any chance imo, and even then need some help from the leading two.
  14. Nice work by Kisner this morning, first man off on his own at 8 am, walked off of 18 at 10.32 after carding a 68.
  15. The vast majority of the pundits were miles out with the squad, so hopefully they are badly wrong with their team selections too.
  16. Don't know where you are but you can find stuff like this on Facebook marketplace.
  17. I'm loving the fact that Siem appears to be having a lot of fun out there. Played some great stuff too.
