  1. Oliver Townend knocks over the second fence and that's him out the medals, McEwen gets at least silver.
  2. Tom McEwen goes clear but picks up a time penalty, still enough to take the lead and guaranteed a medal.
  3. Australia's Andrew Hoy takes the lead, 3 more to go including the last two British riders.
  4. GB'S Laura Collette cleared all the fences that had given everyone else trouble but hits the last 2.
  5. Japanese rider also went clear, but picked up a small time penalty.
  6. Nobody clear so far in the final round of the show jumping part of the 3 day eventing.
  7. Canada beat the USA 1-0 in the women's football semi final. Delightful stuff.
  8. Seems to be a lot of angst about the two jumpers sharing the high jump gold, with some adamant that they should have had the jump off to decide the winner. I don't have a problem with them both being declared champion, if you can have a dead heat in other events like sprinting or cycling, why not in the high jump? I can remember Allan Wells sharing a 100m gold at a Commonwealth Games, with Mike McFarlane IIRC?
  9. GB currently 4th fastest in the men's pursuit qualifying, but Australia are to get another shot at setting a time.
  10. Disaster for the Aussies in the men's team pursuit qualifying when one of their riders handlebars came adrift and he went down hard face first. Rules are that you only get a restart if a mechanical failure happens in the first lap, no word yet if the Aussies will be granted a rerun as they were 5 or 6 laps in.
  11. Team GB were 0.8 seconds up on the Germans at the halfway point, but ended up 1.7 seconds down at the end. They will face the Americans in the semi final tomorrow.
  12. Track cycling under way, the German women have just obliterated the world record in the 4k team pursuit qualifying, taking a full 3 seconds off the mark set by GB in Rio.
  13. They played the conversation there on the BBC. When the Qatari jumper asked the judge if they could have two golds, the judge replied that if they both agreed then they would both be champions.
  14. Casey rolls his putt miles past.
  15. Will be a miracle if either Casey or Matsuyama can birdie it from the bunker. Playoff for bronze could be carnage. Which I won't see as I'm going out soon for an 8.48 tee off time. [emoji85]
  16. Casey finds the bunker off the 18th tee, impossible to get a birdie from there. Schauffele carves one into the rough on the right. Matsuyama in the same bunker as Casey.
  17. Schauffele birdies 17 to go back to -18. 1 Schauffele-18 2 Sabbatini -17 7 players tied for bronze on -15 including Matsuyama and Casey who have the last to play.
  18. Casey joins the bunch on -15, but Matsuyama has a 6 footer to go to -16....
  19. McIlroy leaves one right on the edge of the hole at 18 that woukd have taken him on to -16.
  20. Matsuyama shaves the hole with a birdie putt on 16. There's a few players tied 3rd at the moment so there is potential for a playoff for bronze.
  21. Golf at the the Olympics into the closing stages. Rory Sabbatini put the cat amongst the pigeons by hitting a 10 under round of 61 to go to 17 under. Schauffele was on 18 under until he bogeyed the par 5 14th. Matsuyama was 3rd on 16 under until he missed a 3 footer for par on 15.
  22. Haven't seen much of the ISPS Handa from Northern Ireland, but it must be the only tournament that has a Saturday night cut as well as the Friday one. 41 players into tomorrow's final round including Law, Syme and Drysdale. Calum Hill made the first cut but not the second.
  23. I'm still baffled that the 3 onfield officials didn't contest the TMO's opinion that Murray landed on his back when the video they were watching clearly showed he didn't.
