  1. On the TV coverage, here's what Eurosport now have on Virgin Eurosport 1 - channel 521 Eurosport 2 - 522 Eurosport 4k - 523 Eurosport 3 to 9 - 537 to 543
  2. Norway's Blummenfelt takes gold in the triathlon then gets carted off in a wheelchair, silver for Alex Yee.
  3. Swiss athlete has a 20 second lead after the bike ride over a large chasing pack, GB's Alex Yee is the fastest runner on paper.
  4. Yes, they use laps quite often. Commonwealth Games used a circuit round Strathclyde Park. Means you don't have to close off lots more roads.
  5. Certainly enough mitigation to make it just a penalty with no card imo, didn't see that at the time.
  6. Water temperature for the swim is 30°C, I've been in heated pools that were considerably cooler than that.
  7. Going by many clips of folk wading in the no doubt sewage infested flood waters in London, Covid will be the least of their worries in the next few days.
  8. False start at the Triathlon as the gun went off with a power boat blocking half the competitors.
  9. Nacho Elvira cards a maiden European Tour win at the Cazoo Open at Celtic Manor, but by Christ he didn't half make himself sweat for it. He had a 6 shot lead st the start, but 4 birdies and 4 bogeys coupled with Justin Harding heading for a -6 round of 65 saw his lead gone by the time he was on to the last few holes. He then birdied 17 to go back 1 ahead, but a bogey on the last put him into a playoff with Harding. The Spaniard's par at the 18th in the playoff was enough for the win as Harding bogeyed. David Law and Connor Syme best placed Scots tied 18th, but 10 shots behind the winner. Law is up to 133rd on the Race to Dubai, had a half decent run lately as he fights to keep his card for next year.
  10. Shout out to the first Olympic skateboarder to wrap his balls around one of the rails.
  11. First two PCR tests were negative, third and final one returned a positive. Not enough time for Spain to send a replacement, Patrick Reed taking DeChambeau's spot on the US team.
  12. It was hilarious. I know things are different at the Olympics from a pro race, IIRC there are no radios. The Dutch must have been blissfully unaware that the Austrian lass had fucked off miles up the road. The rest of the chasing pack must have kept it to themselves as they knew the Dutch riders would be favourites in a bunch sprint finish. Glorious stuff.
  13. No idea, players are being very cagey about whether they have been jagged or not. Regardless of that, an infected person can continue to test positive for 3 months.
  14. Second time he has tested positive in the last couple of months, being forced to withdraw at the Memorial. He had returned two negative PCR tests, but his third and final one came back positive. Patrick Reed taking DeChambeau's place, but there isn't enough time for Spain to get someone in to replace Rahm.
  15. A huge shock given the strength of the Dutch team. I know things are different compared to a pro race and IIRC they don't have radios etc, but it appears the Dutch were oblivious to the fact that the Austrian was miles up the road on her own. Annemiek van Vleuten broke away late on to take second and initially thought she had won gold. Kiesenhoffer is an amateur too which makes it all the more remarkable.
  16. Ultimately a win for the Lions, but very fine margins could have changed the outcome. I thought that when they decided the pass wasn't forward then Le Roux's try had to stand, I didn't think he was clearly in front of the kicker, certainly not by enough for the TMO to overturn the decision. Having not given away a penalty in living memory, Watson was very lucky not to get a yellow, very surprised that it wasn't given closer scrutiny by the TMO. On the flip side, the Saffers should have been warned after racking up a load of penalties early in the second half, think it was 6 or 7 in a row. Thought all the Scots acquitted themselves well, Daly was a gamble at centre that didn't really work for me. Hope Harris gets the nod next week. You can add me to the list of new admirers of Lawes, thought he was superb yesterday.
  17. Don't think the Saffers did either tbf.
  18. Better, good call to go for touch.
  19. Henshaw not paying attention. Has to protect the ball better than that.
  20. An England forward giving away daft penalties just like they did in the 6 nations. Who would have thunk it?
  21. Tbf, Movistar sabotaged his efforts plenty of times when he was actually riding for them.
  22. It now transpires that Glasgow City Council sold Lethamhill Golf Course to the R&A for just £200k, less than the average cost of a house in the city.
