  1. Some stating the bleeding obvious from Kraft.
  2. Good start, amazing the difference when you start on the front foot.
  3. There's a full blank week between the last warm up match and the first test, and no midweek games once the Tests start, but there's no way that a squad of 36 players are going to make it to the first test unscathed. 6 warm ups including the Japan match at Murrayfield, it will be like the last tour imo in that a few extra bodies will be drafted in later to bolster the midweek team.
  4. The 2017 tour had 41 players in the initial squad, 2 dropped out before they had travelled, and 6 more were called up to provide cover for the midweek games. I'd love there to be a load of Scots in the squad, but I'll be stunned if there are any more than a handful. Rumours are that the squad is only going to have 36 players in it. I think there are only 2 Scots nailed on to be in the squad, Watson & Hogg. Versatility (or lack of) could be the difference for others. Gatland likes a good defence, no centre in the 6 nations was better defensively than Harris. If Farrell goes as a 12 then Russell maybe goes as 3rd choice 10 behind Sexton and Biggar, if Gatland fancies Farrell at 10 then Russell doesn't go imo. DVM has a chance, while Johnny Gray is also brilliant defensively. I can't see any others having a chance if it is such a small squad. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/rugby/rugby-news/lions-hopefuls-now-brink-missing-20284404
  5. Saw this on Twitter from the course manager at Linlithgow, hope they manage to catch the b*****ds that did this.
  6. I got lessons from a guy who has won a couple of challenge tour tourneys and had a full euro tour card for a season. He says it's not the ability that's the difference, as all these guys are capable of shooting low scores. It's being able to produce that 3 or 4 rounds a week, just about every week, that makes all the difference.
  7. I play regularly with a guy who hovers around scratch or +1, it's phenomenal to watch. He's a decent driver of the ball, straight but not especially long, but his irons and short game are deadly. If he does miss a green then I've very rarely seen him not get up and down. Love playing with him. The head pro from Strathaven joined Bishopbriggs last year and I was partnered with him for his first round. He hit it for fucking miles off the tee, I've played with a couple of the biggest hitters among the members, but he was easily 15-20 yards longer than any of them.
  8. Watched a bit of the NZ v Bangladesh T20 this morning, there was a balls up with the maths for the DLS adjusted target for Bangladesh, resulting in play being stopped as the sums were redone. 9. Archer had an operation on his hand yesterday, injury caused by dropping a fish tank at home. Jofra Archer: England bowler has surgery on right hand after fish tank accident - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/56572438
  10. With the discussion on advantage calls, I'm still mystified at the one from Saturday when France knocked on well inside their own half, yet Barnes calls advantage over when Scotland had the ball inside their own 10 metre line, losing about 30 metres of territory. Shocking call.
  11. Transfer window can't open soon enough.
  12. Another shocker from Horschel when middle of the green and two putts probably wins him the match.
  13. Whether it's fatigue, the conditions, or a combination of both, the quality of play has been piss poor tonight.
  14. One of the pleasures of a Sunday night is Ewan Murray of the Guardian trolling folk who tag him thinking he is the Sky commentator.
  15. If Bishopbriggs had an assortment of tents and stuff that got you free drops like that from all your wayward shots, I'd be playing off single figures.
  16. As much as I like my golf on TV, I'm slowly losing the will to live here.
  17. Sore one for him, sure they said earlier 3rd spot would have got him a temporary Tour card.
  18. You feel as if Scheffler is just hanging on by his fingernails.
  19. Lot of talk about what can or should be done to speed up play. One for me right away is to ban green books, players spend ages consulting the book then go an read the putt anyway. Reading the green is a skill that any respectable pro should be able to do without a notebook. Kuchar 3 up on Perez.
  20. Tbf, if they got the finger out and played a bit quicker they could have spent hours less on the course.
