  1. Exactly this, Ben Ryan said that in his interview the other week. Although a visit from a Tier 1 country is always welcome, it's not a money spinner because they can only charge a few quid for a ticket. Charge any more then the place would be empty. Unless the visiting team is willing to pay for the trip themselves then they probably do lose money.
  2. Pretty much, I was editing my post when you replied, added a bit more detail.
  3. Will have a look on Twitter, Scottish Cricket are usually good for posting links to livestreams if there is a legit one.
  4. Can it be watched live anywhere?
  5. Saw another story from the head of NZ rugby putting the blame on Fiji, Samoa and Tonga all going out firmly at the door of the northern hemisphere, and specifically the 4 home rfu's. Apparently we are all to blame because we won't let the islanders play for their home countries after the Aussies and Kiwis have capped them then binned them once a better option comes along. Heard Ben Ryan getting interviewed on 5live a couple of weeks ago, he coached Fiji's 7s to Olympic gold. As he said, it is a complicated issue. The biggest problem is the lack of professional leagues on the islands, players who look half decent get tempted away to play in leagues in Aus and NZ, but on condition that they remain available to play for their new homeland, which means not playing for their island. Those players then get used to sending money back to support their family and know if they were to play for their home island they would almost certainly be bagged by theur club. It hasn't helped that money from world rugby that has gone to the islands doesn't ever seem to reach where it should. He also cited the example of England v NZ, with the Kiwis taking home £2m of the Matchday revenues, whereas Fiji got their expenses paid plus a sum of £50k when they played in front of a Twickenham full house with similar takings.
  6. STATEMENT SCOTTISH RUGBY STATEMENT 16 OCTOBER 2019 Scottish Rugby statement... A Scottish Rugby spokesperson, said: “Scottish Rugby once again expresses its sincere condolences to the people of Japan and all those affected by Typhoon Hagibis which struck last weekend. "We have been able to convey our best wishes directly to the Mayor of Yokohama and the Chairman of the Japanese Rugby Union. We stand with the great people of Japan. “Following receipt of correspondence yesterday from World Rugby, Scottish Rugby confirms that it has received a notice of complaint from Rugby World Cup Ltd. Scottish Rugby is querying whether the matter is an appropriate one for the bringing of Misconduct charges. "If Misconduct proceedings are to proceed, Scottish Rugby looks forward to receiving a fair hearing in this matter. No further comment would be appropriate at this time."
  7. Our local Tesco's seasonal aisle for the last month has had the last of the summer stuff on sale down one side (including clothes, barbeques, garden furniture), while down the other side it has all been Christmas stuff, most of which (cakes, mince pies etc) will be out of date well before Christmas.
  8. It would be typical if he starts to show some form then has to withdraw because the missus has gone into labour.
  9. Don't remember it either tbh, so it was either meh or I didn't see it.
  10. 2016 according to this, although it didn't actually finish on top of the climb. https://www.cyclingweekly.com/news/racing/tour-de-france/brief-history-tour-de-france-mountain-time-trials-tourmelet-tt-rumoured-2019-397921
  11. Good. I assume Parisse will be getting hauled over the coals too?
  12. Next year's Tour route has been revealed with a harder looking first week than has been the norm in the last few years. Stage 20 is a 36km time trial finishing at the top of La Planche des Belles Filles.
  13. Weight: Last week - fat b*****d. This week after being in Lanzarote all inclusive - tanned even fatter b*****d with impaired liver function.
  14. That loonball Jill Sharp is apparently out of jail, and has already recaptured Craig Hale. Kudos to whoever originally did this to her picture. [emoji23]
  15. Today was the first I have been able to see the highlights in a decent quality stream. Japan's didn't really jump out at me until the replay, but I thought Scotland's was obvious. I still can't believe how bad Scotland's game management was just before half time when Hogg should have been launching that drop out as far as he could get it, not give Japan the chance to catch it and launch an attack. Going in 14-7 down makes a massive difference, although we might still have lost a try early in the second half.
  16. Bit of karma today for laughing about how wet it was at Hampden last night, only 24 and cloudy today. Not windy though, just a nice breeze and the ideal day for a walk to get the booze to take home, €11.75 for a litre of Smirnoff, just take my money.

    Week 6

Correct, they didn't convert any of their third downs, while the 49ers converted nearly half of theirs. Keeping the Rams D on the field for nearly 40 minutes was also key, and running the ball so much kept Donald largely out of the game. Still not completely convincing by Jimmy G, the throw that got picked was a shocker, and he was very lucky not to get picked off again later. Coleman should have caught one for a TD though even with the throw being slightly high.

    Week 6

Me neither. Turning point last night was that goal line defensive stand in the 2nd quarter.
  19. MacIntyre will also be top Scot in the world rankings when the updated list comes out tomorrow.
  20. It's a pity that a few times this season he has put himself in contention but then had his worst round on the Sunday. He is a terrific player, the driver off the deck he hit the other day was a thing of beauty. Turn the sound up for this clip.
  21. Slightly disappointing final round of 71 sees Robert McIntyre finish tied 4th at the Italian Open. Another brilliant finish in a strong field in his rookie season. Stephen Gallacher was tied 25th for his best finish in ages. Edit to add: McIntyre now up to a remarkable 7th on the Road to Dubai rankings.
