  1. He's certainly never headed for Paris playing as well as this on clay, would be a terrific win if he can do it tomorrow.
  2. It was already looking like that though with Moores and Cook steadfastly ignoring some of the players selected for the Windies tour, when it was the ideal chance to have a look at the likes of Lyth and Rashid.
  3. Bagged just a couple of hours after Strauss was confirmed as the new director of cricket, a job for which the job description still seems to be very vague.
  4. Another good win, starting to get the hang of this clay court stuff.
  5. The ATP are going to have a look at their scheduling to try and avoid repeats of the sort of thing Murray had to endure the other night with his match not even starting until after 1am. Murray took the first set against Raonic 6-4.
  6. I'd agree, given Trott's previous England record I also thought he was due a chance at opener, but when it became painfully obvious that it wasn't working then Lyth should also have been given his chance. I can see Trott going on to have a similar career to Trescothick now.
  7. Murray wins it 2-1 with another tie break in the final set.
  8. It's a strange one, Yorkshire had asked if they could have him back and were told no, and going by all the pundits comments they were pretty much told that he was playing in the last test so he was staying put. England need to find a proper spinner rather than rely on two part timers. Broad looked close to his best again, and Anderson bowled brilliantly, they need more support though.
  9. Terrific entertainment, superb knock by Bravo.
  10. Loving this test match, Windies are 70-3 at tea chasing 192 to win after England were all out for 123 earlier. Brilliant entertainment, England's bowlers doing a great job with 6 straight maidens before the break. Chanderpaul not long in and still on 0, with Broad whacking him with a short ball. Bravo has been at the other end for ages and only has 15, and looks terrified!
  11. Be interesting to see how the first session goes with Murphy having a decent bit of rest yesterday while Bingham has to recover from all the tension and adrenaline from a last frame decider.
  12. First time ever in the West Indies apparently. Bonkers day tbh.
  13. Both played very well tonight, but fair play to Trump for digging out those two frames under pressure.
  14. Bell out lbw for a duck, 18-3!
  15. Yep, probably for the last time. He's totalled 72 runs in his 6 innings on this tour, and 59 of them came in the one innings. Cook also out for 4, with the sort of tentative prod that I thought he had got over. England 13-2, be interesting to see how Balance fares after he took a fair old clatter on the wrist while fielding.
  16. Chris Jordan's catch off Chanderpaul, simply superb.
  17. Superb opening spell today to put the Windies in deep trouble, pressure never let up after that. He only needs 4 more in the second innings to get to the 400 Test Wicket mark. Part of me thinks it would be better if he was to get to that mark in front of a home crowd, I'm sure he won't care though!
  18. 8 down for the Windies now, still trail by 95.
  19. Windies getting torn apart, 89-5, superb catch by Jordan to dismiss Chanderpaul.
  20. Massive chance for Edinburgh now, they were 19-6 down bit Gloucester got a man sent off and Edinburgh scored right away. 19-13 with ten minutes left.
  21. Hawkins takes it to the last session, 16-8 to Murphy at the end of tonight's session, needing 1 more to win.
  22. Cook's fault, never a run there.
  23. Murphy wins the first frame, but Hawkins wins the next three including two century breaks to go in 14-6 down at the mid session interval. He's been helped by Murphy missing a couple of shots that he probably wouldn't even have tried if the game was tighter.
  24. England starting the final session at 151-4, been a lot more life in this pitch than the previous two. Cook past the 50 mark and looking good, Moeen also started well.
