  1. Aye, that was a shocker today when I tried to get on to watch the football. Always found it to be reliable, wish they could have kept it going for a month until the NFL playoffs were finished.
  2. MS Dhoni retires from Test cricket with immediate effect.
  3. FFS, the ref goes from bad to worse as Nigel Owens is in charge at Murrayfield for the return.
  4. Marshawn Lynch fined again, this time copping an $11,500 fine for grabbing his crotch at the end of his 79 yard run last week.
  5. And by the time it comes around half of them will have discovered a new injury that will keep them out of the game anyway. Complete waste of time.
  6. I'd agree with him tbh. Cook was superb for the Test side for years and he was the master at playing long innings for England. They then try to shoe horn him in as opener for the shorter games and obviously try to get him to score more quickly, that then crept in to his Test play, the amount of times he got out in the last year or so wafting at something outside off stump was incredible.
  7. Caught a bit of Edinburgh's demolition of Treviso last night. Massive punch up at one point sparked off by a Treviso player punching an Edinburgh player in the head a few times whil he was on the deck. Treviso player was red carded but he can probably expect an extended Chistmas holiday.
  8. 49ers release DT Ray McDonald after an investigation was opened into an alleged sexual assault by him. He had previously been under investigation this year for an alleged domestic assault but no charges were filed and that case was dropped.
  9. I'm sure I heard Goodell's head exploding....
  10. From the Full-Kit W*nkers Twitter feed.
  11. Chris Woakes took 6-47 as England bowled out Sri Lanka for 239 in 49 overs. Woakes making a big claim to be in the World Cup starting line up at the moment. Rain then stopped play but the match will resume tomorrow with England getting their full 50 overs to try and win the game. Craig Kieswetter looks likely to miss next summer as he still tries to overcome the injuries he suffered when the ball got through his face guard earlier this year. He is still suffering visison probems and the long term prognosis still isn't clear. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/30413218
  12. Less than 500 tickets left for Glasgow v Toulouse on Saturday, hopefully the weather picks up a bit or it's going to be an absolute lottery. The 1872 Cup match against Edinburgh on Saturday 27th has already sold out.
  13. Tommy Craig leaves position as St. Mirren manager - SSN infobar at the moment.
  14. Brandon Marshall's season is over after suffering a collapsed lung and broken ribs during last night's game.
  15. Scotland opted only to play the 3 matches in autumn, smacks of a bit of money grabbing from the others to play the 4th game, it's certainly a fairly recent thing.
  16. Yep, no doubt when he took over the captaincy he would have thought through various scenarios that could potentially come up and how to deal with them, this one would have never entered his or anyone else's head. He has dealt with it superbly, even though it has meant putting his own grief in the public spotlight, and he hasn't shirked any responsibility as captain even though I'm sure that Australia Cricket would have let someone else do the media conferences. He obviously feels a great responsibility to the family that as the skipper he should be the one doing the talking.
  17. "Sean, when you feel like getting back on the horse mate, I promise you that I will be the first to strap on the pads and go stand up the end of the net to hit them back at you. It’s exactly what Hugh Dog would want us both to do." -Michael Clarke http://www1.skysports.com/cricket/news/12040/9586619/phillip-hughes-tragedy-michael-clarke-says-sean-abbott-has-his-support
  18. You can bet that a large chunk of tickets will have ended up in the hands of agencies who will be charging a whopping mark up on them closer to the games.
  19. No doubt he has had a fairly disappointing end to the season, and I can't help but think that fatigue played a big part in his performance at the tour finals after having to cram in so much tennis just to qualify. He hadn't won anything for over a year before winning 3 of those tournaments late on in the season. If Mauresmo gets stick for the defeats surely she must get some credit for the wins too? Lendl was only ever involved for the slams too, he wasn't willing afaik to be involved as a full time coach, which Murray obviously wants/needs.

  21. I hope that they have the right support in place to help Abbott through this. He has done absolutely nothing wrong but will still be full of "what ifs", where the ball struck Phil Hughes was a tragic, horrible fluke and you really do feel for Abbott. I know a couple of folk who have been involved in fatal accidents and even now, years later, they still have nightmares about them, even though they were blameless.
