  1. New Zealand beat England 14-12 in the Rugby League, England could have kicked a penalty to tie it at the death but that would have been pointless as they needed the win. Instead they took the tap and immediately knocked it on after the first pass.
  2. I'm sure all the report recommended was that the stewards had better training and there should be more control over where spectators stand. Certainly didn't mention that the event should be scrapped.
  3. Marcus Lattimore announces his retirement. I remember watching the clip where he got his injury and thinking it was a career ender, sadly that has proved to be the case.
  4. Aye, a $4000 dollar fine will really teach him. 80 hours community service too.
  5. Assuming Motherwell appoint someone quickly, it will mean that 24 SPFL managers have been in their job less than a year. That's mind boggling IMO.
  6. Adrian Petersen expected to agree to a plea bargain today, he will not contest the charges of reckless assault but will not get any jail time.
  7. The GB v USA Davis Cup match will take place at Glasgow's Emirates Arena on 6-8 March next year. A temporary court will be put down with the capacity at just over 7,000.
  8. Pity, was really hoping Murray would get Wawrinka. He should beat Raonic ok, Nishikori has been in great form so that will be a tough match. Murray is more than capable of winning all 3 if he can hit top form.
  9. Paul Collingwood has agreed to rejoin the Scotland coaching staff. Pakistan beat Australia by 356 runs to win the series, the Aussies lost their last 5 wickets for 8 runs. Pakistan now go above England into 3rd spot in the ICC Test Match rankings.
  10. The draw for the finals is live on Radio 5live at 3 pm this afternoon.
  11. Watched the highlights earlier, it doesn't even look like he touches the ball at full speed. Even in slow motion it barely brushes his finger, it's stretching it a bit to say he applied any downward pressure on the ball. No try for me. To quote from the laws of RL To score a try, the ball must be placed with controlled downward pressure on the goal (also called the try line) or in the in goal area between the goal line and the dead ball line using the hand or forearm.
  12. Kellock was superb yesterday as the Barbarians ran the Aussie XV close. The Barabarians laid a marker down with their first line out, which was a 40 yard quarterback pass infield. In the usual tradition, the Barbarians players chose their own socks. A touch of class by Kellock with his choice of one sock from Glasgow Warriors, and the other from Allan Glens RFC, the Bishopbriggc club where he first played.
  13. Al Kellock has been named as Captain of the Barbarians side to face Australia tomorrow. He's the first Scot to skipper them since Scott Hastings in 1993.
  14. As convincing as he has looked for a long time, thought he was excellent throughout.
  15. Aye, had a good chuckle myself at that one. Managed two pointless answers in the final round with Cowlairs and Vale of Leven.
  16. Chris Ashton left out of the England squad in favour of untested Fijian born Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Lance Corporal Samesa Rokoduguni. Nice!
  17. Seen a couple of journos saying that they thought it's very much slanted in favour of Quintana. Good to see them putting a potentially decisive stage right at the end though, sad to see the lack of a decent length time trial though.
  18. Yaassss! Murray wins the 3rd set 7-5, finishing with an ace.
  19. 1 set all now, Murray much more positive in the second set and putting a bit of doubt in Ferrer's mind. Been a cracking game so far.
  20. It's a great way to start, hopefully this is the year they can finally make the ko stages.
  21. Makes you wonder why the Seahawks were so keen to let him go so cheaply though.
  22. Didn't see it because I was the football, but the Warriors beat Bath 37-10 scoring 5 tries in the process. A fantastic result and by the sounds of a great performance.
  23. Murray won 6-2 7-5 to head into the semis where he will play Viktor Troicki tomorrow.
  24. Yep, it's a pity it's been overshadowed. Yes, Wigan ran them close with a man short but it's worth remembering that Saints have a young side and they were ravaged by injuries too.
  25. Seems to have been lost over the years but Ferguson would not have served time if he wasn't already on probation.
