  1. LCD Soundsystem - Yeah (Crass Version)
  2. Stevie Wonder - Living For The City
  3. Christian Ilic has signed for Lokomotiv Plovdiv Peter Hartley moving to Jamshedpur has been made official.
  4. There's Peter Hartley confirmed by Jamshedpur. Also, it completely passed me by but it seems Christian Ilic has signed for Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the Bulgarian First division. They have Spurs in the next round of the Europa.
  5. Wonder no more. It was Bira Dembele and he eventually signed for Laval in the French 3rd tier after his trial with us. He's still there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bira_Dembélé https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saison_2017-2018_du_Stade_lavallois_Mayenne_Football_Club
  6. Not being a member of the group I'm not in a position to confirm but from what I'm led to believe whatever iteration of the 'Well Fans' FB group we're on fits the bill in terms of terrible opinions. Alan Burrows' Twitter mentions also regularly throw up a collection of reply guys who are clearly OFTW.
  7. That was my interpretation as well. The weird thing is that "landfill" isn't necessarily being used pejoratively here - even though it sounds like it should be. If you look at the 'Britpop' era you've obviously got Oasis, Blur, Pulp and Suede but equally there was a bandwagon filled with the likes of Shed Seven, Echobelly, The Bluetones, Sleeper, Dodgy or Menswe@r all bands who had one or two big songs but largely existed in that slipstream of averageness of Shine compilations. You can make exactly the same sort of comparisons with Grunge. I suppose the thing with the bands in that Vice list is that their defining characteristic is their blandness. Even the "big" bands like Arctic Monkeys were/are pretty dull. I've never really understood how folk could have strong opinions on bands like The Rifles or The Enemy or whoever but some do it seems. It's an era of music that completely passed me by and I don't feel I've missed out tbh. Fwiw, 2012 was my last trip to SxSW. The Twilight Sad and Three Blind Wolves were doing the Scottish Showcase IIRC.
  8. Our accounts showed we received £750k as an initial payment so if the fee Wigan are getting is the £900k quoted then it's £150k profit which is presumably what the sell on will be from. It really depends on whether or not there were any add-ons paid on top of that £750k and as @Desp says, how the contract is worded. The accounts cover the deal with Wigan as follows: If Wigan have ended up paying more on top of the £750k then there's every chance they've actually made a loss or at best broken even on the big man.
  9. No longer our player obvs but The Athletic have done a profile on McKinstry (if anyone happens to have a subscription). The move to Leeds seems to be working out for him.
  10. Same. I mean, my 'mute' list is filled with some of the usual suspects who regularly offer up terrible takes. Having them actively trying to engage with you on the regular doesn't seem much fun. Aye. I suppose there's the idea that some of the biggest weapons with the dumbest opinions can end up getting the most traction so trying to shut them down is understandable but I agree trying to explain that sort of stuff to folk who are clearly already set on their dumb 'opinion' seems pretty futile at times.
  11. Explosions In The Sky - To West Texas
  12. George Strait - All My Ex’s Live In Texas
  13. I'd largely given 'Motherwell Twitter' a swerve after reading the absolute mile oots in @Desp's mentions post-Turnbull. Anyway, I just noticed Burrows confirmed to one of his reply guys that there is a sell-on involved. So, that's nice.
  14. Apparently, yeah. For context, as @Phillips455 says in an fairly average season (2019 - 8th place, out of both cups at 1st knockout stage) our turnover was £4.5m. Our record turnover was £6.84m in 2017/18 (7th place and 2 cup finals plus £1m in player sales),
  15. I don't think that was me but it's pretty on the money. Either way the 'O'Hara is the Scottish Andy Rose' shout nails it. Tbh, you look at the impact he had on the 2nd half in the 4-4 cup game against St Mirren and it's easy to see why we'd want him around the squad but I agree that if everyone's fit our first choice midfield will be Campbell, Donnelly and Polworth. So...back 3's back (alright!)?
  16. Yep. I mean, Stuart McCall lasted until November 2nd after finishing 2nd but starting the season with 9 defeats from 12, losing to Accies in the league cup and getting bodied out of Europe at the first hurdle. Even then McCall resigned, the club apparently wanted him to stay on.
  17. He will be. He's got tons of credit in the bank with the board and GM. In honesty I've more faith in him sorting it out than I do us binning him and finding a replacement. The alternatives aren't exactly appealing. Fwiw: his remit is to keep us in the division so even finishing 10th place would tick that box.
  18. Aye. I mean, we scudded Linfield last pre-season, our u20s ran Crusaders close over there in the Irn Bru Cup and we've just beaten Glentoran 5-1. It obviously depends on whether we've decided to stop being terrible at football by then but the draw could have been a lot worse.
  19. Aye, I mean the summer before that list starts Shaun Hutchinson signed for Fulham on a free. That's a nice bit of context. I was reading the interview Robinson gave to the AP the other night about The David Turnbull Legacy and everything seems to be pointing to the money being used for strategic reserves and infrastructure projects. That seems absolutely fine tbh, especially given the previous record fee saw McLeish effectively set fire to it by signing folk like John Hendry and Andy Roddie.
  20. Further to that, from memory these are the players we've brought in for 'nominal' fees. Mark O'Hara (Peterborough) Liam Donnelly (Hartlepool) Trevor Carson (Hartlepool) Elliot Frear (Forest Green Rovers) Ryan Bowman (Gateshead) Louis Moult (Wrexham) Marvin Johnson (Kidderminster Harriers)
