  1. Aye. That's actually why I thought there had been legislation introduced as both had moved to bookies and AFAIK there isn't a club in either the Premiership or Championship with a main shirt sponsor that's alcohol related - there used to be a few. Carling, Magners, Tennents, Crabbies, Whyte & Mackay, Carlsberg etc. Celtic had Magners as their FOS sponsor, I didn't realise they'd changed to BOS in 2016 and were still in partnership. I thought they'd just been replaced. I think I'd just seen this and assumed it was a thing: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-51720052
  2. I honestly thought there was legislation in place prohibiting advertising alcohol on fitba shirts. Every day's a school day. Enjoying the replies in the MFC Twitter mentions from folk who think Paddy Power are still sponsoring us because there's no sponsor on the front of the shirts. Bless. Paycare were announced as having renewed as BOS sponsor June 19th. Their placement is at the bottom of the shirt. The Glen's branding is across the shoulder.
  3. I see that's the Reserves squad list been refreshed on the Official. By my count that's Robbie Hemfrey, Jack Brown, Adam Kettings and Cole Starrs away. Brown was announced by Albion Rovers last month and Starrs had been on the PFA Scotland available list for a while. GK: PJ Morrison, Matty Connelly DF: David Devine, Yusuf Hussain, Sam Muir, Matthew McDonald, Cammy Williamson MF: Jamie Semple, Dean Cornelius, Paul Hale, Lewis Robertson FW: Harry Robinson, Ross MacIver, Findlay Cook Oh...and it looks like Mo Ross has been promoted to First Team coach there's no Staff listed on the Reserves page now.
  4. In all honesty I wouldn't be surprised if there was something in it - to a degree. Although, Huddersfield's statement said "The Club are not seeking applications for the vacant position" after they emptied the Cowleys, which suggests they had/have someone lined up. I suppose they'd need a back-up in case that fell on its arse. As @santheman says we should probably get used to it as every mid-table Championship job that comes up is going to have Robinson's Mr. 20% linking his name to it.
  5. IMO, he's kind of lucked out with the whole 'rona situation. The league kicks off August 1st, in any normal season that would mean the window would be shutting a month later. This season it's October so we'll potentially be 10 games deep by the time the window 'slams' shut. You'd have thought that would be more than enough time for him to address any doubts about his knee. Either way it should give anyone who's potentially interested a bit longer to get a look at him if they're after him for this window.
  6. Tbh, it's a weird flex to jump into the mentions of a well respected sports journo who's heavily connected with Leeds to tell him that actually *you* broke the story and that there's another guy in the frame. Anyway The Guardian are saying it looks like Corberán...going by their article they first made 'contact' a month about the job.
  7. Aye, we had the Paddy Power "Save Our Shirt" sponsorship last season so not only did we have a deal that was "our biggest shirt sponsorship in history" we had sponsorless shirts. You always hear folk banging on about how we should retail shirts without the sponsor (ignoring why companies sponsor a shirt in the first place) but It'd be interesting to know if we saw an uptick in shirt sales compared to other seasons when we've had a sponsor eg: McEwan Fraser or BetPark. We did a similar thing a couple of seasons ago when Motorpoint were our shirt sponsors and the shirts were available to buy with or without the sponsor logo printed. Again, I'd guess that more sponsorless shirts were sold than with the sponsor print. Although having said that there were a few who were raging that they couldn't get the BetPark sponsor on their kids shirts (gambling advertising rules & kids) because it "wasn't the same as the players wore". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  8. I don't know if you've got a different supply chain or not but if you're still with Macron this season Burrows replied to someone about ours at the start of June. Apparently we were/are anticipating mid-July for them going on-sale.
  9. Genuinely no idea. He's not been a name that's been talked about that much as far as I'm aware. For example, when Jamie Semple and James Scott were involved with the reserves at 14 & 15 the official channel noted their ages: There's usually a group of 3 or 4 from the Academy who it's clear are being developed with an eye on the first team (at the moment it's probably Cornelius, Devine, Hussain and Semple). In Johnston's case his name just started appearing on the Reserves team sheet midway through the season. Going by the SFA page he's got an u16 cap (and turns 17 in December).
  10. I'm not sure you can go down the "he was misquoted" route when there's actual audio/video of him saying what @Lex has cited - "We will be in that top six. Make no mistake about it.'
  11. Based on the starting XI and subs I take it this is how we started and finished:
  12. Aye, Cornelius had been filling in at right back for the Reserves last season - fair enough if it's just to get him minutes on the park as everything you were hearing from Mo Ross suggested he was the new Allan Campbell. Interesting to see Max Johnston being involved as he's still 16 (according to Transfermarkt) and only seemed to break into the Reserves shortly before the shutdown. No Semple there either and going by those team lines Carson played both halves rather than him and Fox getting a 45 each.
  13. Motherwell: Carson, Grimshaw (Cornelius 60), Donnelly (Mugabi 60), Lamie (Hussain 82), McGinley (Johnston 75), Maguire (O’Hara 45), Campbell, (Polworth 45), Turnbull (Long 60), Robinson (Hastie 45), Seedorf (Hylton 45), White (Watt 45). Kilmarnock first half: Trialist, Millen, Broadfoot, Findlay, Waters, Power, El Makrini, Burke, McKenzie, Brophy, Kabamba Kilmarnock second half: Lyle, Trialist, Broadfoot (Dicker), Rossi, Taylor, Kiltie, Brindley, Pinnock, Trialist, Cameron, Connell
  14. That's included in the £720,000 mentioned re: him and Heneghan. I've no idea if we'd get anything further from Oxford if he was to move on from Boro.
  15. That's a bit more difficult to work out as that sale went through when we were publishing abbreviated accounts for a small company so it doesn't have the same detail as the full accounts. There's an entry in the accounts made up to 31 May 2017 re: his sell on though. The full accounts for 31 May 2018 include an entry in the income section re: Player registration gains (2016/17) it amounts to £555,369 (the players moved that season were Pearson, Josh Law and Johnson). Law left on a free so it's only Pearson and Johnson whose fees were "undisclosed". So you don't get a specific total but looking at those numbers you'd think maybe somewhere between £750k-£850k...£900k at a push? Assuming Heneghan was somewhere between £300k-£400k and Pearson a nominial £50k-£100k.
  16. Reading that quote from Burrows back it's not exactly reaching to think that any sell on must be reasonable if he was quoted as saying that the deal had the "potential to be the most lucrative" in the club's history. I mean, yes...the key word is potential and that sort of language matters but if the upfront fee was £750k per the accounts we're looking at another £1m coming from somewhere to match the O'Donnell fee and I suppose the cumulative money from McFadden would come into that conversation as well.
  17. No idea tbh. I was just having a look at the announcement of his sale: Our accounts are public record and section 32. Events after the reporting date for accounts up to 31st May 2018 is as follows: "Cedric Kipre's player registration was sold to Wigan Athletic and this amounted to £750,000 excluding direct costs and future contingent fees." So presumably the £750k was an initial payment subject to extras - Wigan apparently settled the full balance last season (it was The Scottish Sun who mentioned it when they were reporting the Hastie loan, I won't link to it - the copy is below). The problem I suppose is that Wigan are in administration and Kipré's about to go into the final year of his contract. There's also the fact that he (and other players) haven't been paid for June...I'm not sure Wigan have that much leverage if a decent-ish offer comes in. Based on that it'd seem we'd be due a % of anything they get over £1m - unless there's some wacky clause in the agreement.
  18. In fairness the Weir to Brighton sale that was supposed to be going through (and was being reported by others, not just Nixon: BBC, Sky) has gone quiet. Those were the two deals they were talking about this time last week to help with the payroll. The Wigan administrator was in the press earlier saying that they weren't looking at a firesale. I mean, he would say that obvs but still...
