  1. Is Appere injured or out of favour? I guess Bolton is ahead of him for the wide position ?
  2. It is, isn’t it? A competent board, good season ticket sales, and the new seasons fixtures published. Much to look forward to. How’s it going with your mob?
  3. And I’d just gone and bought an umbrella as well. Disappointing news. God forbid it’s Mackay.
  4. Only alarm bell is around the court case. It’s a distraction and will impact any potential manager being interested in the vacancy.
  5. Great team performance by United, tonight. Very cagey first half from both teams, but we looked organised and didn’t give Dundee much time on the ball, which is a big improvement on past performances. Second half there just seems to be more purpose in our play. Great goals, shankland’s seemed to be created out of nothing. Great touch. Great atmosphere tonight, marred only by some lone idiot at the beginning. Arabs were different class. Derry were the Derry and started to leave with a good 15 minutes to go. Wanks. Great start to the weekend.
  6. The strategy can be summed up thus - Shit or bust. We’ll be rolling in millions having been promoted and sold on some prospects who have panned out, or be out with the buckets. Time will tell.
  7. We played in the same manner we played last season and the one previous to that. Shankland worked hard doing defensive duties, winning the ball in midfield , and eventually getting the goal. He put a few to shame with his work rate, effort and commitment. We were so off the boil in the middle of the park it was frightening. King brought nothing to that game and I was relieved when he was subbed. At least we managed to grind out a result but must do better.
  8. The most unfit player from our squad will be sacrificed, and his body parts displayed in the play park. Not taking any shit this season.
  9. Not got my season card yet . Anyone else in the same boat ?
  10. I think we can all recognise what you describe, it gets on my tits. Also a recurring theme for me is the lack of hunger/passion in the team. We should be physically imposing ourselves on teams and showing real desire for every chance of the ball- more often than not it’s the opposition that plays this way against us. Our style becomes ponderous if plan A doesn’t work. And I’ve also get a nagging feeling that Neilson doesn’t know what his strongest team is. Don’t think anyone is looking for miracles, just a sign that there has been some improvement and consistency.
  11. That would be astonishingly laughable. (For everyone else)
  12. Just dipping into this with a quick point. Obviously disappointed but if you leave it to penalties, then you’ve not done enough to justify going up. Enjoy tonight buddies, you’ve earned it.
  13. I had some really profound things to say, but as I’ve been drinking heavily, it’s all a bit of a blur now. Should we not prevail tomorrow, the consolation is that it feels like we are moving in the right direction, and that at least the support don’t hate the owner now. Real progress. The atmosphere at tannadice has been fantastic for the play offs, and if nothing else else, it’s a sign we can still draw on a big core support that loves United. I’d start with Pav and Sow tomorrow, keep,Clark in reserve, should we need a burst of pace in the final 20, or it goto penalties. Sleep tight folks, it’s going to be emotional tomorrow
  14. Cool. You play 5 across the back like you did on Thursday and we’ll attack for 90 minutes and see what happens.
  15. The tea drinkers of the George Fox lower salute this mans commitment to his favourite beverage.
  16. Crown were immense tonight. Long time since I’ve hear Beautiful Sunday being still being sung as I’ve walked up the road. Could have been so different if it hadn’t been for Seigrist, Cally had the better chance right up until the penalty. Thought Sow was pretty decent holding the ball up, and was delighted when he scored. Pav is Pav, top player. Definitely the underdogs in the next games, I dread getting Hamilton.
  17. In the new set up, do we not have a performance director ? Would’ve thought match / tactical analysis would be a priority to.
  18. My pal is a lifelong Dee and Liverpool fan. Funnily enough, he doesn’t rate Robertson at all. Wonder why ?
  19. Think we’re in a better position compared to this time last year, with regards to league position, squad strength and manager. I feel like it’s still a new squad needing to gel a bit , but as you say have few games to do it. At the back of my mind was some nightmarish 1987 type situation of having a cup final and promotion play off to face, and losing both. Team performance was gash on Sunday but they can now focus 100% on the league which I’m happy about. Onwards.
  20. Certainly did yesterday. Smith on the wing? That’s not where we will get the most out of him. We’ve increased the quality of the squad overall, but if he’s trying to be too clever then it won’t work on the park, and we’ll be back to square one.
  21. The space they had was excruciating - we look so static at times it’s painful. Fyvie was really poor today - no pace , no urgency , we were completely overrun in mid field. The annoying thing is that on the few occasions we did pass the ball around we looked tidy, and linked up well. To be honest the team set up today did not work and it showed. Nielson got it wrong. Hopefully a learning experience as really, we didn’t deserve the win, and the focus has to be the league. The prospect of a distracting semi final, and the danger of an absolute pumping at a crucial time of the season wasn’t something to look forward too.
  22. If it happens the anxiety levels for me will depend on how we get there. A strong finish, easily finishing second, piped at the post for top spot, and breezing through the play of game, with a fit and confident team would be ideal. In the scenario, we’d have nothing to fear from the Dee. Scraping through a number of play of games, picking up injuries, with a team still inconsistent, and knackered would be a total nightmare.
  23. Maybe he’s our lucky gonk? I’m as impressed by all the players going out as those coming in. If these guys can gel and show some grit and determination, we should be able to do this. Third time lucky.
  24. 100% true. Sure, we’ve all been disappointed with the performances in some games, and after 90 minutes, we want to vent our frustration, but booing the f**k out of players after 5 minutes - give them a break eh?! We’ve got a brand new team here. Fair play to the new owners.
